When they heard I was an English speaker they did a few jokes in English, which was nice. The performances were high energy and good vibes. Nice to have a drag king in addition to the queens. And lots of Rihanna-great beats! The audience was in a good mood and friendly. No meat market feel-also no other singles that I saw when I was there. Everyone appeared to have come with friends or on a date. The place was full, but not oppressively so. As I was leaving it was getting more crowded with a line outdoors and at the entrance. I didn't expect to see as many women as I did too-a nice surprise. The audience felt straighter than I'm used to in a gay bar in the States: 2 bridal showers when I was there and several male-female tables I assume were couples. Kind of gave me a spectator feel rather than being strictly "family," but on the upside it was very welcoming of everyone. Enjoyed my rum punch. I was surprised that they cashed me out after my first drink...maybe that's standard in Quebec? I'm used to running a tab and likely would've stayed later and ordered a second drink or food if that had been the case. I was surprised at how big the place was. People were both seated outside and in another room I saw on my way to the bathroom. The restrooms are down the stairs and then up a short flight, which I imagine can be tricky in high high heels and a tight skirt once sloshed. Slight bit of drive outside Old Quebec, but it wasn't too bad. My family of 3 made an 8pm reservation over the holidays, which was a good idea as it was quite busy. The menu is tapas style, so shared dishes. We started with a dozen oysters, and they were excellent. In fact so excellent that we ordered another half dozen. Then came the shared dishes: Mussels - Good Grilled mini octopus - Good, although small. Rutabaga and cured duck breast - There was barely any duck breast in it, and it was the thinnest slice I've ever seen. Grilled hangar steak - A bit chewy despite it being medium rare. Chargrilled shrimps - Great, probably the best dish out of these I had. Service was excellent overall. This is probably a place I'd recommend if you aren't very hungry, as the portions were small for shared dishes.

The highlight is definitely the oysters - so fresh and delicious, and the price is very reasonable (2 dozens for a bit under $60). Being a person without much knowledge in wine pairing, I played safe and ordered a bottle of Chablis, which worked out quite nicely. We also ordered a few small plates to share, and the sautéed mushroom was the pleasant surprise! The flavor is so rich and creamy, and we love it so much. I'm glad we saved some space for desserts. The dessert platter was so amazing and what a great way to wrap up our dinner on a high note! Their cocktails are also very well made. Our server took the time to understand our preferences and prepared the cocktails to our liking. I'll definitely love to visit this place again!
