Mélimélo - My favourite za in Lévis! The chefs special.

This place is one of the reasons I like Québec so much!…read more Deep dish pizza omg so good. It's where they layer on the meat in thin slices so you can see it in a cross-section of each slice. Yeah, there's the tangy sauce at the bottom and no bare spots, No! it's a substantial amount so no unpleasant dryness ensues. Then there is a layer of meat, and I got a couple meats to make sure I got my protein in, one of which was Montreal smoked meat, oh boy it's so good! Then comes the melted cheese on top, and an overall garnishing of peppers or what-have-you veggie-wise on top of all that. I usually refer this style of pizza as Greek-style rather than Italian-style, which is what we usually get in Toronto. From what I've experienced, the Greek-style pizza is more popular across Canada compared to Toronto's own penchant for the Italian thin-crust style of 'za. The last time I went to Mélimélo, I was staying up the street at the cutest cheap motel ever! This time I was camping out nearby, but both times I indulged in one of these pies and enjoyed every bit of it. Check out my pics and see how it is over an inch thick. If you order one, keep that in mind as you don't need the usual large pizza for yourself, which is normally mostly crust. These pies are more like lasagna where there is depth rather than breadth to it, and each bite counts! Unbelievably good the next morning for breakfast, cold form the fridge with none of that dry burnt crustiness that makes half the pizza inedible. Enjoy the rest with a cold beer for lunch, and the fun never stops!

After a day of skiing we made our way back to our hotel & came for dinner on a Sunday evening. The…read morestaff was friendly & very efficient, and they were mostly full (we did make a reservation). We had a Genovese salad & a 12 in Bolognese pizza to share & both were amazing! To finish we splurged on a tiramisu (petite in size) but perfect, along with 2 cappuccinos, again all so good! This was a cute & clean restaurant with low noise & easy to enjoy conversation! Highly recommend!

I ordered the Mediterranean salad, on their menu they have little incons to represent " vegetarian…read more" and " contains nuts" they DID NOT put the contains nut icon, nor write it was made with pesto dressing containing pine nuts. Pesto is not a standard or commonly expected dressing for a Mediterranean salad, and there was no indication on the menu that tree nuts were included. After eating the salad, I experienced a severe allergic reaction that required an ambulance ride to the hospital. While this was happening, we were still asked to pay the bill, and the meal was not comped despite the seriousness of the situation. I understand restaurants cannot account for every allergy if they are not informed ahead of time, but menus should accurately disclose ingredients, especially major allergens like tree nuts when they are used in unexpected ways. I also reached out privately afterward hoping for some acknowledgment or support and never received a response. I hope this review encourages better ingredient transparency and more compassion in emergency situations moving forward.
