We stopped here for dinner on our way to the hotel close by and were amazed by the ambience, the food, drink and dessert choices. We had the Mexican rolls (yes, at an Italian restaurant) but they were so tasty and presented well. Would recommend with a side of guacamole and pomodoro. We also had the Pistou and Chicken which was again, tasty! Light on the sauce but fresh with flavour. Great choices with the drink menu, cocktails and mocktails. We just landed in Quebec and we needed something on the healthier side to eat. We picked this place. My husband got a chicken ceasar salad, he really enjoyed his. These guys put their own flavor on things, his salad had bacon and capers on it. My husband wasnt much of a fan of the capers. I ordered the warm apple and camembert salad. I've never had camembert cheese, it reminds me of brie. Anyways the salad comes out with slices of camembert on top of slices of a baguette. Freaken yum! The apples were nice and warm and they were thinly cut! The dressing was nice and light, it was almost like a lemon vinaigrette. Best but not least pecans galore!! The decor in here is urban garden, this is a nice date night spot if you are looking to go out without braking the bank. They do have an assortment of wines from all around. Really underwhelming food and weird decor. They have crystal chandeliers in the back section and then like light bulbs hanging from wires from the front section. Paired with old ceiling tiles and community hall looking laminated floor. But the booths have rhinestones? Just all around mismatched and bizarre. My husbands pizza was pretty good. Service was good. The pasta I had tasted like charcoal, maybe they used a charcoal grill for the shrimp? I had a few bites and that's it. Was not good. Overall it was like the same level as like Boston pizza. Not very impressed with this restaurant. First upon entering they offer (somewhat insist) on us drinking wine for lunch. Who has a bottle of wine at lunch? Maybe I'm out of the norm. The menu had a lunch special list and I had selected a curry pizza which was quite good. Then after lunch the woman ( looking like the owner) came by again insisting we try their dessert mentioning it was really good. No thank you was our response. So if I add it up in my head if I had wine and dessert it would have been a $40-60 lunch per person. Who does this? Am I just being cheap? No thank you. Best of luck. On the recommendation of staff at the Best Western we went to La Piazetta for a pizza. Fantastic--a true, crispy thin crust and great toppings. Try the vegetarian. We were so impressed with the food and the staff, that we returned for their meat ball the next night. We were not disappointed. Great food, great people, reasonable prices. Definite Recomend! Ate here two nights in a row. The second night because the first was SOOOOO good. We started with the traditional bruschetta (Which I strongly recommend) followed by the lasagna and the Spegitti which is Traditional and simple but good. Then we ordered the Pepperoni & Prosciutto all dressed pizzas to go for a late night snack. All I can say is WOW! Probably some of the best tasting pizzas I've ever had, and that's out of a lot of different pizzas. The server (James) was very friendly and informative. Went here on a Tuesday night of our visit to Quebec and read some of the Yelp reviews prior to going. Should've read "D'Arcy L's" review and taken the suggestion not to go. We were seated very quickly as the restaurant was not overly busy (maybe half full). When we asked to order, the staff member we spoke with said that the orders are taken by the older lady by the register (I'm assuming the owner of the establishment); interesting concept, four front of the restaurant staff and only two can take orders. Just like in other reviews, we were asked about drinks and my sister-in-law asked to start with water first but before we could order any alcohol, the owner took off to another table. I guess she assumed she wasn't going to make any money from the alcohol and couldn't care less about our table. We ended up ordering alcohol anyways but very bad first impression. We managed to order 10 minutes later as it appeared she didn't want to anything to do with our table (the whole alcohol issue) and ordered two pizzas and three pasta dishes. I wasn't impressed with any of the food as the portions were small and quite pricey; probably could get better food at the Olive Garden. In any case, my kids wanted to order dessert and we ordered a chocolate cake and molten lava cake. The dessert was fine but I will not be returning as the food was pricey and I can do without the lack of service if you don't order alcohol. I WILL NOT BE BACK EVEN IF IT'S FREE. read more
