That's until we met some of the miserable ladies behind the food counter at Super Khorak. I waited there for 30 minutes for my food. At one point, I turn and see the employee who took my order whispering in another one's ear while looking at me. I told my partner something was going on. I thought maybe they burned our food. Finally we went to the other end of the counter, realizing there was another pick up section. One of the employees asks for my number. I search my pockets and realize I've lost the receipt. I tell her. She rolls her eyes and storms off. Comes back and barks "what did you order?" I tell her. She says "I called your number 10 times." They knew it was our food! They saw us standing there for more than 30 minutes. What the heck? Then she goes over to some new lady behind the cash whispering while gawking at me. At this point I was at my wit's end. I go over there and say 'excuse me. Is there a problem.' New lady smiles and says "no, no problem at all." I finally get my food. But this whole experience made me lose my appetite and ruined what was up to that point an amazing day. Don't bother. Go next door to Super Arzan. Hopefully they won't ruin your day.

Since it was right after the holidays they had small and medium gift packages of cookies, and cookies individually are priced by weight, though there was frequent lack of signage to tell what the cookies were or what they cost. I opted to try some cake slices prior to getting a whole cake of the same flavour. I got the pistachio swiss roll and pistachio cake slice, and the staff had mentioned the rectangular cake slice would taste more strongly of pistachio. I tried both at home and the swiss roll has a stronger pistachio taste, both were kind of weak tasting, but that is not the issue at hand. Both the cake and swiss roll were tough and stale, to the point where grocery store frozen cake tastes better. Even those $5 or $6 vanilla cakes at Walmart are not this hard. The cream, the sponge cake, all of it was old and rubbery. Save yourself the pain and get cake somewhere else. I felt like I was eating fake wax food instead of real cake. I'm really disappointed as their bakery section is huge and seemed to have a lot to offer, but I've been burned and am reluctant to try their other sweets.

There are just a couple of smaller tables but seems to be quite busy with people working in the area to come and get a quick bite. Vienna Schnitzel on a bun ($5.99) - Freshly made by order and it took around 5-10 min for it to be ready (she warned me when I was ordering) - The sandwich is sizable, I ended up sharing that with my coworker - The Schnitzel itself is moist and tender... dare I said a little juicy too... There was a little bit of a language barrier so it was easier to gesture, point and nod. They no longer serve free coffee with their lunch menu so the entrees themselves are priced at $6.99. After you order your food, you have a seat at one of their several dining tables (they also have two small tables outside) and they will bring your food to you; you pay at the cash register when you're done. I had the musaka (the woman that took my order said it was like shepherd's pie) which was a large portion. There was minced meat and egg on the bottom layer and sliced potatoes and cheese on the top. It was very filling and I liked the taste, but it was way too oily and the potatoes were overcooked and mushy. My hubby had the cevapi (looked liked breakfast sausages) sandwich. It had 5 pieces (you can order 10) that were grilled to order and tasty. I tried a piece of his sandwich and thought the cevapi would be perfect for breakfast or cooked with pasta. They had cevapi in the refrigerated section so that you could take it home and cook it yourself. The bread used in the sandwich was spongy and greasy, not very appealing. This is the place to go if you want to try different food items from Europe. Not the warmest of staff, maybe it's a cultural thing. At least the younger woman tried to crack a smile by the time we left and wished us a good day.

This place has been scamming old Italian people and Non-Italians for decades. I'm Italian and have…read morelived in the area all my life. My favourite scam at Lady York is the deli scam. You order something and point to it, and the server grabs some unlabelled mystery meat (with no label) from behind the counter. Whatever DOP prosciutto you've ordered, you'll be getting San Danielle(garbage). Made in Canada, over salted, full of hormones and chemicals, and slightly rancid. Italian prosciutto doesn't taste anything like that because all Italian prosciutto is chemical and hormone free by European law. My wife has unfortunately bought Speck (a smoked Tyrolean prosciutto) there a few times. It has been rancid - every time!. This may be linked to their packaged Italian product scam. In Italy, all these foods must, by law, have a marked expiration date. The Italian items at Lady York have an expiration that has been obscured by a sticker, wiped off with solvent or bear and clearly expired date (check your olive oil!). Basically they buy items that were destined for an Italian dumpster for next to nothing and sell them to you at a premium. It's hard to find such 'old world' scams these days, especially in Italy. Because in Italy, they would put these guys in jail.
