It's the same size as other locations and a clean supermarket that offer a variety of options: fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh meat (beef and lamb), fresh chicken (fillet, thighs, breast-skinless and with skin), fresh seafood (shrimps, salmon, tilapia, scallops, etc.), store made baklava, pastry, cakes, breads, dairy, deli, canned food, frozen food, etc. It also has a restaurant section offering middleeastern food with a reasonable price. They offer very delicious shawarma that is one of the best in Ontario. One of the perks of this location is that they bake pita breads on the facility and you can buy them fresh. Review for only the bakery section, not the grocery department. I gave the Adonis baked goods section a try as they had a wide selection of cookies, full sized cakes, and treats, and I love pistachio flavoured sweets, which they had lots of. Since it was right after the holidays they had small and medium gift packages of cookies, and cookies individually are priced by weight, though there was frequent lack of signage to tell what the cookies were or what they cost. I opted to try some cake slices prior to getting a whole cake of the same flavour. I got the pistachio swiss roll and pistachio cake slice, and the staff had mentioned the rectangular cake slice would taste more strongly of pistachio. I tried both at home and the swiss roll has a stronger pistachio taste, both were kind of weak tasting, but that is not the issue at hand. Both the cake and swiss roll were tough and stale, to the point where grocery store frozen cake tastes better. Even those $5 or $6 vanilla cakes at Walmart are not this hard. The cream, the sponge cake, all of it was old and rubbery. Save yourself the pain and get cake somewhere else. I felt like I was eating fake wax food instead of real cake. I'm really disappointed as their bakery section is huge and seemed to have a lot to offer, but I've been burned and am reluctant to try their other sweets. read more

This location used to be the most economical baklava location. About 10 years ago it was pricing by type, then it moved to $29/kg now its $32/kg. I guess I might be exploring other places :/ This location packs in plastic packaging that may not be gift giving appealing. But the baklava are well made here. Went to the Warden and Eglinton location and was very disappointed with their own Adonis Baba Gannoush. It was whipped up so much and watery that it was hard to tell if it was baba gannoush or hummous. However the worst thing is that it was so salty which will make me wonder if I can trust if I get another batch will be the same in the future. They oversalt a lot of things like makanek sausages that I had to return previously once so I wonder what their quality controls are. read more

Got this amazing mixed platter deal from Adonis at the start of Ramadan and let me tell you it won't be the last time we get it !!! Their quantity and flavour was unbeatable. Platter was made up of the following: - Multiple skewers of grilled chicken and beef, grilled tomatoes and onions - Stuffed naans almost like manakeesh, they were stuffed with cheese and tomatoes - 2 boxes of grilled potatoes and 2 boxes of Mediterranean rice - 2 containers of garlic sauce and hummus on the side I always thought of Adonis to be a grocery store however when we walked in we discovered a huge hot food counter! They had these platters and many other Lebanese/Middle Eastern foods we will definitely be back to try. For all those fasting and celebrating Ramadan ever this would make a great iftar meal. Adonis is a GREAT middle eastern grocery store. Their produce, meat & seafood section are amazing. They also have a huge section in the middle for pickles, dried fruit, deli meats & cheeses. They make their own khubz (pitas) on one side, which we buy warm & stock up on every couple of weeks. Everything is always fresh, organized & well-stocked. We frequent the takeout food section at the back quite a bit. Their shawarma wraps are the closest thing I've found outside of Saudi to have the proper, authentic taste. They're not stuffed like burritos, but every ingredient is incredibly flavourful so the roll as a whole is just perfect! In this particular visit we got a few different things for a nice dinner at home - it was all delicious, as expected. If you haven't visited Adonis yet, I highly suggest you do! read more

Hello, I am Lebanese, I live in Toronto, and I heard about Adonis stores, and I went to Mississauga branch, and I was happy to shop there, but I wanted to report the bad and racist treatment I was subjected to by the Arab sweets worker I ordered some baalawa and asked her about some sweets each Kunafa .And when she heard my accent, she left me and went to a second customer without asking permission or if I wanted something else. I was almost waiting for her for 5 mnt, and when she finished, she prepared my order and gave it to me while she was talking to a sother customer without looking at me and asking me if I wanted an other order. This happened, perhaps because of my Lebanese accent . And i report that before i putting it in reviews for the head office they ignored. read more

I have been going here since they opened and I make the drive from Etobicoke just because I know the quality is fantastic. They meat counter, fish counter as well as the prepared foods are wonderful. Oddly enough, this is my go to place for a great beef shawarma as well! They have a complete selection of all things middle eastern. Some things that are always well priced and available are the lemons, limes and oranges. They are probably the best priced around for those items - 10 lemons for $3.99, 3 limes for .99 cents and 10 oranges for 3.98. I also really like their souvlaki chicken thighs. If you are doing a BBQ, these are well priced, taste great and go just as well on a sandwich or in a salad. The bakery section here has pitas that they make in house and they are just so soft and delicious. Additionally, they have a sweet section as well with baklava that is very well priced. read more

This place is amazing! I so wish we had one near Fairfax. It's super clean. Prices are marked clearly. Folks at the deli were sooooo helpful & nice. They let us try things & so we ended up buying so many different Mediterranean cheeses & cold cuts. The best by far is the prepared food section - we went ape sh*t here & bought so much food - shawarma, falafel, spinach pies, meat pies, za'atar, olives, fresh juices, fresh ancient pita bread (that stuff is insanely good) baklava, rice pudding, and and and. FINALLY... I was wondering when we'd ever get a big bright supermarket that specializes in Middle East and Mediterranean foods. Considering Metro owns majority of Adonis Groceries and we have a pretty big Middle East population in GTA West, I was so surprised it took forever for this Quebec transplant to cross over the provincial border. This place opened to a HUGE swarm of people inside. They gutted the previous aging Metro and made it quite bright with huge floor to ceiling glass in the front wall. It really brightens the entire place. Parking is a nightmare as it's not well laid out and you have really crazy drivers in Mississauga. The layout of this place is very spacious. You don't have the tight crazy maneuvering that is required in most ethnic stores. There is plenty of fresh groceries in addition to a HUGE assortment of cooked items. I'll start with the grocery section. Fresh green almonds... check! 5 types of parsley to make your family recipe of Taboule (tabbuleh?)... check! So many choices of fresh herbs in the middle of winter... check! And this is ONLY the first section of the grocery store. Suffice to say, they paid a lot of attention towards this area. There are lots of bins stocked full of very fresh and high quality vegetables and fruits. For the price, it's a touch more expensive than some other places but I would say it's on par to most good specialty grocery stores. Between the fresh produce and the rest of the aisles, there's a special place for all those who are lovers of the Mediterranean cuisine or just general snacking. It takes up an entire aisle length and it has everything from bins of fresh LARGE whole roasted nuts (Pistachios from Iran... oh my!! and cashews 3/4 the size of my thumb), the most amazing assortment of fresh cheeses, and tons of deli items (more cold cuts and cheese). The labneh here is so creamy and rich, it almost feels like a dessert. The prices for Pont Neuf cheeses are REALLY affordable... I would say the price point for this area makes it a great place to stock on parties or those who just inhale cheese. The cost of the house brand of fresh cheese puts most discount stores to shame! The next few aisles are dedicated to frozen and dairy section. It's like the UN council... a little bit of everything from each region. Wah Teep from China, spanokopita from Greece, McCain fries, pierogies... you get the gist. There's nothing here that screams out Mediterranean aside from the occasional frozen dinner that doesnt look too appeal. The prices are reasonable and I would say is cheaper than Metro. Along the back of the store is a meat lovers paradise. It literally takes up about 3/4 the entire back ... there's a great butcher place where you can even see them cutting the sides into various cuts. They have a halal section as well. The fishmonger is pretty incredible. It has a lot of exotic fishes that you normally don't see in a grocery store (a whole Mahi Mahi including head and all) and a live tank of lobsters which included a behemoth 20+ lb one. They had U10 shrimp laid out... how often do you see that? They also had a lot of whole fish in addition to the filets. Every gill was bright red and eyes were clear. This definitely competes with all Chinese grocery stores for freshness (for now). As for the price, T&T still has them beat. Adonis is definitely more expensive. Go into the snack area and grab fresh dates from Iran for $3.49 (such a steal) or Turkish Coffee for the cheapest price I've seen ($7 for 1 lb). The bakery was constantly bringing out fresh pita and it was such a wonderful smell. Also the baked sweets like Baklava was amazing. I HIGHLY recommend you just take a dozen and just let the fresh crispy sweetness with big pieces of pistachio just satisfy any sugary urges. There are also tons of take out options as well. Tons of kabobs, halal chicken, lamb shashlik, and a large assortment of fresh vegetables. They even had a fresh fruit section that looked like something out of a high end frozen yogurt place in NYC (not our poor mock ups in GTA). The cashiers were all quick and friendly. Actually... EVERYONE was friendly. The place was staffed so much that I think they probably had the same amount of employees as customers. Ok, that is probably an exaggeration but I really do believe they staff four times the amount of employees than the previous Metro they had there. So why the 4 stars and not the 5.... My Dad, who is an extremely picky eater and a super diet conscious guy, is in love with this place. And I don't blame him. Adonis is very clean, with well-organized aisles and a uncluttered feel. It's got a Middle Eastern - Greek deli that serves fresh Zatar bread, ethnic pizzas, crepes and more. The store also boasts a cheese and olive bar and a in-house Pita factory. How rad is that? Now, usually these specialized stores can be pricey when it comes to regular goods and produce. Take Starsky for example... the produce prices are unreal. But Adonis, a Greek-owned and specialized grocery store, is giving every other store quite the fight when it comes to Produce and other regular selections. Adonis isn't the place to buy your Michelina meals or your tub of Breyers ice-cream. However, here's a few of the things we have regularly been purchasing to give you a fair idea of what you can get: 1. Fresh produce - individual peppers are available, and cheap. 2. Fresh Pita Bread from the in-store Pita Factory - cheaper than any bag of Pita I've ever bought. 79c for 250g. I usually see people picking up 5 to 6 bags of pita bread. We usually get 1 and it lasts us a week of snacking (with hummus or garlic dip) 3. Cheese - fresh, good and reasonably priced. 4. Olives - Costco works out a cheaper price... especially because the jar of olives can be stored a long time. But if you're looking for fresh olives, the olive bar at Adonis is to die for. 5. The Lebanese garlic dip - my personal favorite. It's the delish white stuff they put on Shawarmas and I have been looking for it forever. 6. Milk, meat, etc - the staple, reasonably priced. 7. Hummus, tahini and the like... If you live in Mississauga, I highly recommend a drive to Adonis. It's centrally located; there's a 99c store in the strip mall and the PharmaPlus. It's also close to No Frills or the likes if you need to pick up some more regular instant-food items. read more

Lets see... I enjoyed the whole place. The vibe was good and its has the middle eastern touch, lets talk about it. Its basically a supermarket with lots more. There is the regular grocery store stuff and then they have a bakery section with tasty biscuits, lots of different cakes and alot of deserts. The also have the Cheese section, Fish section and butcher section. Guess what lot of Halal meat being sold there as well at a reasonable price, I bought some high cholesterol stuff like brain, liver and sausages. Then I headed to there crepe section yes they have that as well. I ordered Banana Chocolate crepe, the guy made it fresh and the quantity was huge, the packaging was great as you can take it any where easily or eat it in their sitting area. There is a big eating area there as well near the entrance. They were selling shakes and stuff like baked bread with Zatar, cheese pizza, spinach and cheese bread etc... so there is a lot to choose from. All in all its a great place to checkout read more

I really like this supermarket. Reasonable prices and good food. Produce is usually very stocked and fresh. The only downfall is that there is usually only 1 person servicing for each counter, even though there are a bunch of guys behind. You take a ticket for the meat, deli, etc. I had to line up for over 10 minutes to get some meat, so I did not bother getting another ticket for anything else. The chicken samosa I tried was good. The flattened chicken was good but didn't taste unique just looked flat. The chicken shawarma meat was on the dry side as well. I purchased some seasoned quail and can't wait to try. read more

3.5* HUGE, clean, recently opened Mediterranean/Middle Eastern grocery store. Opened a little over a month ago. Lotsa room, overstaffed, and not super busy for a Friday night. Staff still seemed eager to please, friendly. Several counters towards the back of the store, including meat, fish, take-out/prepped food, cheese, and an unusually large selection of olives/nuts. Although it takes the customers' hygiene into consideration, counters such as olives/nuts were behind glass. So you hafta depend on staff to fetch what/how much you want based on how much you want to spend, etc. It gives customers less control, but at least you won't experience sticker shock at the checkout! It also eliminates unnecessary mess like kids playing with those valves that dispense coffee beans. (I don't blame the grocery store for doing this as I've seen some pretty disgusting things, e.g. not using tongs with buns, squeezing bagels with bare hands and then NOT buying, and the list goes on.) Prices seem reasonable, including baklava. They also have a weekly circular with specials. I went there for the baklava and it was just OK. 6 tiny pieces, as pictured was less than $4.50, cheaper than both Paramount/Baklava. However, even though it was pretty fresh, it was my least favourite out of the 3. No buttery taste, only a slight trace of rose water in 1 of the pieces. I wish Adonis was around when I used to live in this area. They offer everything a regular grocery store has to offer plus more. They have some of my unique staple items like ezeikel bread and vegan products. The grocery store is clean and organized. There is plenty of staff available willing to offer help. They have an extensive meat, seafood, hot food and dessert area along the back. I stopped by for a crepe. The sweetest jamaican lady behind the counter was attentive and friendly. I noticed customers sampling grapes, with no objections from the employees, but then I guess they were too busy chatting with each other. I couldn't find any help. People were surly and untidy looking. I was totally offended by the Halal meat section (Halal like Kosher means the animals are bled to death, which is cruel.) the butcher shop area is just OK, i have seen much better. However it is a clean store, however finding assistance is sometimes difficult in this place. Some interesting brands i have not seen before. The instore Zatar bread is good, but they dont seem to cater to everyone. They tend to be way too ethnic and do not make you feel comfortable in your own country. They do not make you feel like a valued customer, when i was checking out there was no greeting or eye contact, and the only thing she said to me is $35.75 and nothing else.
