Mixed grilled skewers
Richa R.

Got this amazing mixed platter deal from Adonis at the start of Ramadan and let me tell you it won't be the last time we get it !!! Their quantity and flavour was unbeatable. Platter was made up of the following: - Multiple skewers of grilled chicken and beef, grilled tomatoes and onions - Stuffed naans almost like manakeesh, they were stuffed with cheese and tomatoes - 2 boxes of grilled potatoes and 2 boxes of Mediterranean rice - 2 containers of garlic sauce and hummus on the side I always thought of Adonis to be a grocery store however when we walked in we discovered a huge hot food counter! They had these platters and many other Lebanese/Middle Eastern foods we will definitely be back to try. For all those fasting and celebrating Ramadan ever this would make a great iftar meal. Check them out guys!

Adonis is a GREAT middle eastern grocery store. Their produce, meat & seafood section are amazing. They also have a huge section in the middle for pickles, dried fruit, deli meats & cheeses. They make their own khubz (pitas) on one side, which we buy warm & stock up on every couple of weeks. Everything is always fresh, organized & well-stocked. We frequent the takeout food section at the back quite a bit. Their shawarma wraps are the closest thing I've found outside of Saudi to have the proper, authentic taste. They're not stuffed like burritos, but every ingredient is incredibly flavourful so the roll as a whole is just perfect! In this particular visit we got a few different things for a nice dinner at home - it was all delicious, as expected. If you haven't visited Adonis yet, I highly suggest you do!

I have been going here since they opened and I make the drive from Etobicoke just because I know the quality is fantastic. They meat counter, fish counter as well as the prepared foods are wonderful. Oddly enough, this is my go to place for a great beef shawarma as well! They have a complete selection of all things middle eastern. Some things that are always well priced and available are the lemons, limes and oranges. They are probably the best priced around for those items - 10 lemons for $3.99, 3 limes for .99 cents and 10 oranges for 3.98. I also really like their souvlaki chicken thighs. If you are doing a BBQ, these are well priced, taste great and go just as well on a sandwich or in a salad. The bakery section here has pitas that they make in house and they are just so soft and delicious. Additionally, they have a sweet section as well with baklava that is very well priced.

The variety of food is extensive, and the prices are great! This place is awesome!!! Highly recommended!!

Great store with a wide selection of produce and other groceries. Fresh pitas and an awesome baklava section. Prepared foods are also tasty and staff are very friendly.

Amazing baklava freshly made and much cheaper than other bakeries nearby!

It's the worst service ever. They ignored and yelled at me when I was trying to get something from the deli.

Popular Arabic grocery store. Even if you aren't Arabic, this is a big and clean grocery store.

I love Highland Farms. It is fairly close to my workplace and I've stopped here countless times to…read moregrab either groceries for home or treats for a co-worker in honour of their birthday. The pastry case at Highland Farms is out of control awesome. There are cases upon cases upon cases of delectable sweet delights. I've picked up so many different items from here - gourmet cupcakes, macrons, cakes, etc and all have been fresh and delish. I believe they do bake some treats in store but some come from other vendors such as Dufflet and La Rocca. Highland Farms also offers lots of interesting foodstuffs from the around the world I've personally never seen before but love to try. I had a lot of fun zipping around the store right before the holidays finding items for my in-laws and their family to enjoy. Random tip: if you've never tried Herdez salsa, grab yourself a jar or two if you stop in. This is hands down my favourite jarred salsa of all time and can be super hard to find for some reason. Try it, you'll be sure to love it. See you again soon, Highland Farms!

CHEAT or DIET?:…read more CHEAAATTTT Ok I'd like to foreword that I'm only reviewing the pistachio cake from Highland Farms. Now let me tell you about this cake. Is it moist? Yes. Is sweet? Absurdly yes. Is it worth it? If it fits in your macros, then yes. This cake is delicious and cheap. I ain't gunna lie. It's like if Wonderful Pistachios married a twinkie. This cake was $28 + tax. Definitely great for parties and not for eating yourself . it's definitely on the sweeter side, so I wouldn't share with your Asian moms. They're going to complain it's too sweet. But overall pretty good if you're bulking or don't care about calories. Shoutout to the cake people. Their service is great and nice, and they even decorate the cake box with ribbons. The cashiers leave much to be desired, but I guess this isn't Costco lol. Ambiance feels like a European grocery store at the size of a warehouse store. I spotted this new supermarket as I made a left turn from Highway 27 onto Finch Avenue West. I was…read moreheading to Wok of Asia to have some dinner. I needed to pick up a few grocery items, so dropping by Food World Supermarket afterwards was perfect. This building used to Rose Garden Banquet and Convention. I'm guessing that due to the pandemic, this business suffered and shut down. There is plenty of parking in front and around this supermarket. I backed into a spot and walked in. The doors automatically open, which is wonderful. This supermarket is located across from Burger King. I often frequent it when I crave a flame-broiled burger. Both are in the same plaza as Wok of Asia. It's clean and cheerful when you first walk in. You see cases of pop and sparking water. The produce section then greets you. I needed avocados and celery. Prices are either comparable to what you see at grocery stores like No Frills, but the quality is better. Both produce items that I grabbed were fresh and in great condition. This grocery store carries halal items. It features a lot of South Asian products, such as Parle-G and paratha. You also see ramen and Ribena, both of which made me love shopping at this store even more. I saw everything from custard to paneer. It does sell corned beef in cans and rose water in glass bottles. Cool! The meat section is impressive. It's huge with every cut of meat that you can possibly think of. You can get food to go. There's a stall within the supermarket where you can get pizza, shawarma, and more. I paid for my produce. The woman at the checkout was extremely pleasant and nice. I paid with my debit card. This store gives you a plastic bag. I thanked her and headed to the exit. Just before you exit, there's a stall that sells desserts, ice cream, drinks, and more. I asked the woman behind the counter whether their drinks have added sugar. They don't. The store goes with the natural sweetness of their fruit or veggies. I wanted to get the sugar cane and coconut hydrating beverage. She had run out of coconut, so I got a large sugar cane drink. As she made my drink, I looked at the desserts display. There were individual portions of chocolate mousse cake and sponge cakes. You can also get milkshakes, ice cream, and more. She asked whether I wanted ice in my sugar cane drink. I said as much as the cup could fit the ice. It was perfect on a hot day. I asked the nice woman how long this supermarket has been open for. It opened on May 18th. I paid with my debit card. Done! I thanked the woman and left with my groceries and drink. The sugarcane was indeed the real deal. It was naturally sweet and yummy. I was happy with my drink. It was nice consuming it as I drove home. Whenever I was in the area to grab some dinner, there was never a supermarket close by to get a few grocery items. It's definitely more convenient now thanks to this Food World. (174)
