I moved to AZ two years ago from CA and was still driving to CA to get my hair done. I was so afraid to go to someone who doesn't know how to properly do blonde hair without frying it off or turning it orange. Everyone told me I would have to go to Scottsdale and pay big bucks for my hair to be done properly. I was referred to Chardai from my lash girl and said let's take a shot... After years of giving myself my own trims I decided to give myself a layered cut - HUGE MISTAKE! so I booked an appointment here the following day first thing in the morning with Ariel and she was amazing! April is an AMAZING hairstylist. I've been coming to her for all my hair styling needs ever since I found her! She's ALWAYS down for my crazy hair colors and, because she knows what she's doing, I can trust her completely. In addition, she can work with Asian hair (something that I've learned after basically wasting money elsewhere is apparently something I have to consider and of which finding someone who knows how to work with is very difficult in the Phoenix area )! I can always count on April to get me concert ready or conference ready, depending on what I need, and, even when I don't know what I want or am being indecisiveness, she's got a plan for me. Made an appointment for a gel pedicure. Nail tech was not ready when I arrived. She was working on another client's hair. I suppose something must have been wrong with the appointments' timing because she needed to go back and forth between her other client's hair and my feet a couple of times, which I thought was unusual. The pedicure area is literally a wooden platform/stage placed against the side wall, with a regular chair placed on top of it. Then they bring out a bowl full of water and that's your pedicure set-up. The polish I chose was a pale, sparkly pink that would coordinate well with my current fingernail color. Apparently, the color on the bottle did not accurately reflect the true polish color. When applied to my toes, the color didn't go on pink. It went on orange. I guess we ran out of time for the orange leg/foot mask, because the nail tech handed it to me "to go" in its packaging. This less-than-acceptable experience was not what I expected for, what was claimed to be, a $50 pedicure. Tipped the tech $10 and left. Will not return. read more

You have to come see these ladies. It's a very laid back environment with a very welcoming staff. They do amazing work. With great things to choose from with hair, nails and facials. However, the real reason I am really on here is because I have to brag about Alexis. Alexis does my hair every time I go in. She is absolutely amazing at everything she does, and how she does it. How she gets the color to stick in my hair blows my mind every time. Not to mention she saved me from a really bad color and cut job too. Alexis is magical. I've been coming here for almost a year, and I had no idea I had not written a review yet. I love this place; I have had such a great experience with Chardai and Erica, and Kaylan. I haven't worked with Desiree, but I've seen her work, and it's fantastic. I think that anyone who chooses to come here will be pleased with their service. Erica is impressive at nails, and she does such a fantastic job. I come there at least every other week sometimes at this point; I won't even get my hair done or my nails; I just come to say hi because it's such an open and inviting establishment. This is the ultimate girl's salon. You can come there, let your hair down literally and figuratively and have a good time and enjoy the conversation and pure energy of the place. You will enjoy the atmosphere; it is a great place to come. If you were looking for an excellent silk press, Erica is also great at that. If you're looking for a fantastic nail technician Erica is fantastic at that, and so is Desiree you can't go wrong with either one. You should check it out. I ENDED UP TAKING THE DAY OFF OF WORK AND WANTED TO TREAT MYSELF TO A FACIAL. When I called to see if they could work me into the schedule for a same day appt, the biz seemed to be closed but the voicemail did state I could text to get an appt . Within 30 minutes, Erica texted me and told me she would be able to work me in at 1pm or 1:30. Upon Arrival, I found out the salon was actually closed... BUT ERICA CAME IN ON HER DAY OFF TO ACCOMMODATE MY REQUEST!! The salon was cute and tranquil. I got the 60 minute facial which basically included a massage. There was a shoulder and neck, hands and arm, and leg and foot rub. I have very sensitive skin and had trouble with the products they use at other spas, but all their products smelled good and felt even better on my face. I left there with glowing skin, feeling relaxed and like a million bucks!! I've already recommended Cosmoholic to a few of my friends and booked a return visit!!! GO AHEAD TREAT YOURSELF!!! I purchased a Groupon for full highlights, deep conditioning, haircut and blowout. I scheduled the appointment a week in advance advising the receptionist name Jocelyn that a Groupon would be used. I took my daughter to the appointment on February 9th for the services. Erica was her stylist. Erica took her back and did the highlights deep conditioning cut and style. It's turned out very pretty. My issue comes into the end of our visit, when Erica notified me that in addition to the Groupon I was using I owed an additional $25 because the toner for the Highlight is not included in the groupon. First of all, nowhere in the fine print of Groupon does it state that toner would not be included. Erica advised me that the receptionist should have told me at the time of booking but noticed she had not, and Erica herself admitted that she should have notified me before Services started, but did not. Nonetheless I was told we still owed $25 for toner. Even though toner is included in their regular highlighting fees. Toner is an integral part of highlighting hair. Erica also advised that she should have charged me extra for the long hair. Again nothing was mentioned in the Groupon about these additional fees and nothing was advice to us prior to Services being rendered. Because of the quality of the work, had planned on returning and thought we had finally found Salon that's offered honest quality work. But the deceitfulness at the end really soured me and we will not be returning. Really unfortunate that this is how business is conducted. It's kind of like going to dinner and being told at the end of the meal that you owe additional monies for the plate you ate off of. The toner is part of the highlighting process. You do not do one without the other. Keynote, their regular price highlighting includes the toner I was told. Only if you use a Groupon do they not include the toner. Bait and switch advertising and practices. Such a shame that they were willing to lose a potential longtime client overcharging the additional $25. read more

I didn't actually get to have an appointment here. I purchased a gel pedi groupon for this salon, mainly bc the groupon I bought for the children's museum expired before I could use it and I had to hunt around for something to trade it in on. This groupon cost $30 and was supposed to be a $50 value, which turned out to be fake. So the problems started when I tried to actually make an appointment. When you call no one answers the phone. There is a voice message instructing you to go to their website and book online, or to text or call a different number with other questions. That is already weird and unprofessional, esp since the groupon instructs you to call to make appt. So I go to their website where I have to make an ACCOUNT in order to make a simple pedi appointment, I choose Groupon Services - Nails - Gel Pedi - Paid. I select a provider and a time and when I get to the end it is trying to charge me an extra $15 for this appointment and there is no way to make the appointment without this charge. I look at their nail services at the gel pedi which was valued at $50 on groupon is only $40 on their booking website, so now in addition to being upcharged from what I already paid I now feel like this was false advertising to begin with. THEN I text the number on their outgoing message with questions about this process, the extra charge, etc and no one answers. (I waited ALL DAY for a reply.) I finally ended up just getting a refund on groupon. From seeing their other reviews, it seems that groupon customers get treated on a different, lower standard and that is no way to grow a business. If you don't want to deal with groupon folks or give discounted prices without discounted service, maybe don't offer your business on groupon. read more

I was visiting my sister in Phoenix and needed my hair done. I called my sisters hairdresser but she couldn't get me in. She referred me to Chardai Fisher the owner of Cosmoholic Salon. She was able to fit me in right away and did a better job on my hair than my regular hairdresser. Chardai was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about hair color and extensions. I'd give this place NO stars! Horrible. Not professional at all. I showed up at 9 am and waited until 9:45 for an employee to show up... with no keys. I was informed the shop was appointment only and I would not be seen today (despite the groupon saying walk-ins welcome). I booked an appointment for the next morning at 9:30... I informed whoever booked the appointment that Bc it was my bday I may not make it but I will keep the appointment scheduled. Next morning I show up on time, she was not there. She came storming in 20 mins late. I go to sit down and start service and the woman tells me it will be $10 more to soak off my gel polish on my toes. I told her I don't feel I should be charged for that since she was late. She then goes to tell me how I was rude and said I wasn't coming.. whole situation was seconds from a physical fight Bc she got aggressive . There is a reason this place STAYS on Groupon. Ghetto and unprofessional. If you have a 9:30 appointment booked you as the service provider should be there by 8:45!!! Do better! read more
