So vigilante is keeping 3 adults moving. Whenever we get beans, they are fresh roasted within the week. I love the locally roasted beans and they are always perfect. My FIL loves tin Lizzie and so do I but I have really enjoyed some of their other blends! El Fuego is another go to. They have some great cafe drinks, some good snacks and the seating area is spacious. I am glad the vista location opened to avoid the South O crowds in the thick of summer. They sell a large variety of espresso drinks, teas, and non-coffee alternative options. They also sell small food items like açaí bowls, avocado toast, granola, and pastries. From what I've tried, the coffee and tea is really good! The flat white I had was really smooth and well-balanced. I've also tried both a hot and iced London fog, which were both pretty tasty. Service is good, baristas are attentive and observant. Easy to have a chat and laugh with. Overall, a solid north county option for a meetup or a remote work location.

I have visted the original locations near Mission in Oceanside for years. It's great to have another in the neighborhood. I almost always get a mocha here, as they know what they are doing with craft coffee. I love thier hot cups too, they are not flimsy! My favorite of BD is the art and merch available. They have cozy fleece banana sweatshirts to custom art on the walls for sale. Go here, have the coffee - Dang it's good. Note to Self: Try a Banana Dang specialty coffee on your next visit. If you love banana-anything, this spot is a no brainer! They also have a lot of non-banana options (e.g. straight lattes, americanos, fruit smoothies, etc.) I wish you could get larger sizes, but as with a lot of niche coffee shops, they only have 1 size offering. The Dirty Nutty Dang was decadent and delish - banana chocolately peanut buttery smoothie with 2 shots of espresso. The ShakEned BaNana was also a hit - a smoothe banana flavored latte with oak milk. Definitely a fun place to try for your next coffee outing!

We have had a great experience during all our visits. Our most recent visit was on Christmas Eve (12/24/25). It was rainy and gloomy. Both baristas were pleasant and cheery especially since it was Christmas Eve. We ordered 3 coffees and 1 smoothie. The baristas did not seem irritated or bothered by this rather continued to converse with us. We ordered the Mazapan, Tres Leches, and Horchata. We got the strawberry and banana smoothie for our daughter. All four drinks came out to $25 or so. Definitely a bargain and steal compared to Bay Area prices. This was even considering we got the 20oz drinks. El Kafecito is a recommended stop anytime you are in that area.

I hate to leave this review, but I feel the owner should look into this…read more Coffee is usually good depending on who's making it. Though, there is one barista in particular who isn't very friendly. She often sits in a Corolla, and when she finally comes to take orders, she already seems annoyed, rolling her eyes. She's also the only employee who upcharges me a full dollar instead of the usual 50 cents, which doesn't feel fair, especially since the other girls are always helpful, kind, and I do tip them for their great service. I'm not sure if she's adding a tip without me knowing, but if that's the case, I'll have to start going to another coffee shop with similar pricing and more consistent service. There are plenty in North County. I've heard this is a family-owned business, but I can't support questionable charges or unfriendly service.

Cinnamon roll - best Ive had out of all the ones I've had in CA and AZ. They do not cut corners and even use brown butter for their cinnamon sugar filling! Cruffins - fun to look at and fun to eat; can't go wrong with any of them! Cookies - white chocolate macadamia nut, chocolate chip, gluten-less chocolate cookies ... now these are cookies! If I had to bet, I'm pretty sure they weigh as much or even more than the famous NY Levain cookies. Strawberry and cream croissant - croissant stuffed with whipped cream and slices of fresh strawberrh; do yourself a favor and just try this! With so many goods to choose from, it may be easy to pass this one up, but don't! It'll give you those napoleon and cream puff vibes.

I have had a croissant sandwich which was so good and many pastries since that event. My favorite and the one I keep coming back to is the lemon curd cruffin. A croissant muffin combination which is so crispy flakey and delicious. The staff is always nice and answers my questions. Parking is easy. There a few tables outside shared with the Mexican and Japanese restaurants next door.

(Review of coffee shop only, I've never gone in the cat room.)…read more I hate what has become of my favorite cafe. I've come here multiple times a week since it opened because I can walk here from work. Not long ago many of the long time employees began disappearing and a new person seems to be in charge. I'm not sure if she bought the place or was put in charge but things immediately went downhill- -Some of the menu changed and drinks/ food quality dropped. My order often comes out wrong. - The place is now *filthy*. Tables are always dirty and the bathroom is nasty. As I was waiting for my order I leaned on a table and put my hand down on something sticky with several long black hairs stuck to it. I never eat in any more. - The new manager is incredibly abrasive and unprofessional. She always complaining loudly to her employees while they work and it's sometimes about customers. (She called a guy who called in an order "stupid.") She and her family members often take up multiple tables in the cafe even when it's busy. I know they have an office so why is she always taking up a table for four with her paperwork? I've seen people looking for a table and then leave because she and her family had spread across mulitiple tables (for only a couple of people.) - There's often only one (nice) young lady working behind the counter so things go *slow*. I don't know if they're understaffed because they're cutting corners, but I will say that turnover seems high lately. Gee, I wonder why? I will keep picking up my black coffee here but I will never stay or get something "fancy" ever again. Maybe visit the cats but don't expect a nice place to hang/work.

Still love this place's vibe, aesthetic, and attention to quality. Every drink is really good, and they are serious about their coffee and brewing.
