Love this place! We have been coming here since 1996 when it was a small pizzeria type place and you hand to wait outside for a booth to open and grab a seat. The food has stayed consistently good over the years. Penne vodka with shrimp, chicken francaise, shrimp francaise, lasagna, eggplant rolatini, meatballs, calamari, italian hummus and pizza are all incredible. Had pretty much everything on the menu but the above are highlights. The same family has owned all the time I've been going and they are super friendly and accommodating. My family and I have spent the last 6 Christmas eve's having dinner there. It is more expensive than other places, maybe a little too expensive but its better. Don't get the negative reviews on here. The food is good at cosimos. It really is. read more

Came here from NYC to meet cousins for dinner. All wait staff were very nice and sat us right away. We had a tri color salad to start with the crab and lobster salad as well. Both very fresh and tasty. We had the original chicken parm and the special chicken parm (with pink sauce and panko), both were great. Portions were large and filling. The men ordered halibut and chicken saltimbocca, they were happy too! Great place for fresh food and a nice ambiance. All of the food that was coming out to other tables looks good as well, we would be back to try other dishes! read more

Great place. Good food good service. Never had any issues. Don't understand why anyone would not like this place. Pizza is great. Thin crust cooked to order and the main dishes are real good. read more

We were going to the sushi restaurant next door. However, when we walked past we decided to try Cosimos. Not coming back. The food was nothing to write home about. I had the black ocean seafood linguini. We asked for a glass of wine but our server explained they don't have a liquor license so they could only sell us the bottle. I don't quite understand how that makes sense. Anyhow, we ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio. The bottle she brought us was cloudy and corked. I told our waitress about it and she insisted that it was not. It was undrinkable. She insisted first that it was because it did not have sulfites. The label clearly indicated it did. Then she said it was unfiltered. I looked up the wine and it's not an unfiltered wine. She came by a second time and we still had not been able to drink it. She continued to insist it was ok. Ridiculous. She should have take it back when I clearly indicated it was not drinkable. We will not be returning. Should have sticked to out original plan and gotten sushi. read more

Had lunch with a friend today. We had a great table near the open window/door so that we could enjoy the great weather. Service was attentive and food was delicious. Will definitely be back. read more

I was here for an event so I can't speak for an evening dinner. The food was very good. From their apps. to pasta, to salmon everything was delicious. Attractive atmosphere with a parking lot around the corner if you can not find street parking. It is a BYO which is always an enjoyable alternative. I would go back if I am in the area of this very sweet, little town. A nice area to walk around after dinner to digest. The service was exceptional which we truly appreciated for serving 50 people. read more

We revisited Cosimo's last night with another couple. The food was good - once again I had the panzanella salad which was very good and their shrimp francaise which had big shrimp and a nice lemony saue. And for a rather gloomy winter night, the restaurant was packed. But the objection I had for this place before is still my objection. I guess they like to have a quick turnover but every two minutes the wait staff was at our table asking how was the food and as soon as one person's plate was finished, they began removing plates. read more

I just recently started making this a regular place. Varied menu, good salads, good for kids and adults. I like BYO. And I like the atmosphere since they renovated. read more

My wife and I had dinner tonight and the calamari was outstanding as usual and we had a small margarita pizza which was also delicious with thin crust. Usually Nina waits on us but she was on vacation and we had her equal in Carlos. Like Nina, an absolutely fantastic server without being intrusive. Overall, a really nice evening in a great restaurant with wonderful service!!! read more

Ordered for Valintines day I was told to come in 30 minutes waited an hour and a half. They forgot my sons dinner as well an part of an appetizer. They called to say they were sorry and delivered the rest of the order about 30 minutes later. We order frequently but after this experience we need to take a break. I actually called to discuss the situation (something I've never done before) and spoke to the person who took the order. Instead for taking 10 percent my bill they are taking 10 percent my next bill . Poor customer service . Will not be going back for quite some time. Very disappointed. read more

We order trays of food for parties from here. Chicken parm, penne, and salad. It's good stuff!

My wife and I had dinner on a recent Fri night during peak time between 7-8. We were seated immediately and the waiter service was excellent. I had the Salmon and my wife had pasta both were excellent. I highly recommend the lobster mac and cheese and mussells for appetizers. Also, the specials are always changing which gives the customer variety every time they dine there. The restaurant was busy but the dining area was relatively quiet which made it easy to have a conversation. For take out, our favorite is the margherita pizza (A++). read more

Good food, can't argue with that. But not great service. Definitely overpriced as well. Not the place to go if you're looking for a cheap date! read more

This is the only place we order pizza from! We love their pizza, the Caesar salad is very good, and their chicken parm is great. The dining room is very nice and usually crowded. read more

I live in Westfield, NJ , I have been to Cosimo's Restaurant many of times, the appetizers and food is great! The atmosphere is great as well. Unfortunately, I have to hit this place with a lower scoring because never fail whether coming here at 7 or 8pm in the evening to have a meal with family and friend and a little wine, they wait staff is hounding you to get out so they can close, dimming and higher the lights, and being pushy with the if you are finished with your entrée. I am a paying customer and you are providing a service, you would expect them to be considerate. read more

Pricey for what you get. I remember the old cosimos when I was younger, seemed better. Once received a sausage sandwich which seemed like the sausage was turning sour, yuck! read more

The food was decent. If you have children, do not go to this restaurant. As soon as we entered we felt the coldness coming from staff. We had a large party and the kids were pretty well behaved but were reprimanded several times throughout the meal when there was absolutely no one in the restaurant. The waiter was not patient and the owner (elderly woman) was extremely rude. I will never return - which is a shame, because I love pizza! Should've went with our first thought and strolled on down to Genaro's. read more

I've been here a few times with my wife and for my 36th birthday. Everybody that came, was delighted with food. I personally had the filet mignon, it was excellent. the place is beautiful. cheesecake factory WAS my favorite place to eat until I found this place. ohh, make sure they seat you in the new side read more

Dined at Cosimo's on a Friday night, had an awesome time! I made a reservation for my party of 5 the monday before, because yes, there does tend to be a long wait for walk in seating. The service was great, our waitress really went out of her way to accomodate all of my friends' needs (some had food allergies). Everything was very reasonably priced for the portions you recieve. It's BYOB which was a plus with no steep liquor upcharges and many liquor stores nearby in beautiful Downtown Westfield. I recommend Cosimo's to anybody who enjoys quality meals with family-owned service :-) read more

Horrible food. My boyfriend and I ordered the balsamic calamari and it was extremely chewy and fishy. You could absolutely tell it was frozen because each piece was exactly the same and there were no tentacles whatsoever. It was disgusting and we had it sent back. I couldn't eat more than one piece - and I love calamari. I ordered the beet salad with shrimp ($2 per shrimp). I took one bite of the shrimp and it was so tough and dry. I asked my boyfriend to try the other half and he agreed. There was another $6 down the drain. He ordered the veal tango which, he said, "It was nothing to speak of. There was no flare to it." Kindly but appropriately, the server took the calamari off of our bill, which we were grateful for, being we didn't eat more than 3 pieces together. Our total was $45 and was not worth $10 in my opinion. The only decent thing about our experience was our server. He was attentive and concerned. Very disappointed. I'll never go there again nor recommend it to anyone. And I'm sorry to say that because I have been in the restaurant business my entire life so I know the ins and outs and love trying new places to eat. But this was just unacceptable. read more

I went here several nights ago with a couple of friends. Service was extremely slow and the food unmemorable. I ordered the bruschetta pizza, which was described as "thin crust." It was basically a large cracker with chopped tomatoes and basil on top--all cold. If one of the main ingredients is the crust, I don't think it ought to be a pre-cooked cold cracker. Also, the waiter had specifically asked if I wanted cheese, and I said yes. My friend said she'd have the same, then said "Oh, I can have it without cheese?! I'll have it without!" Both pizzas arrived without cheese. The waiter dumped the food so fast I didn't have time to flag him. When he came back I pointed out that I had ordered cheese. He said aggressively, "She said she'd have the same! She didn't want cheese!" "Yes," I said. "But I ordered first, and I said I DID." I really don't believe the diner should be told she ordered wrongly. My other friend had a chicken dish, which arrived 10 minutes before our cold pizzas and was only so-so. We will not be returning. read more

I haven't been here since they expanded until yesterday night. I ordered the chicken balsamic and it was delicious. The huge garden salad I chose instead of pasta or veggies was fresh and quite tasty. I always have leftovers from here and yesterday was no exception. I like the new serving plates and dishes. I would suggest that some sort of vegetable goes on the plate with chicken dishes. My friend had chicken oreganato, also quite good, but needed some sautéed veggies or broccoli or something on the plate to finish the dish off and make a better presentation. The service yesterday was poor...took 20 minutes for waiter to take our order and never once asked how food was. He almost seemed more like a bus boy filling in for someone. We used to have female waitresses that were excellent. I am not sure that they still work here. Cosimo's is convenient and sitting right next to the fireplace on a cold night was delightful. I wish that they would make one of the rooms for adults only. I hate when big parties with little kids are playing around. Think about that! I would recommend this for an easy meal and large menu selection. read more

I order from there a lot. Food is usually good, but god forbid you have an issue. One time, the dish I order came with about 1/3 of the pasta I usually get. I called and asked to speak to the owner to just explain the situation and let her know (I didn't even ask for more pasta). She was extremely rude, insisting that I was absolutely incorrect and just trying to scam her. Some how I ended up apologizing for her mistake?? Then another time I ordered a pizza, and it was wrong. I called to let them know, of course Mrs. Cosimo was very rude again but agreed to send the correct pizza. The delivery guy showed up and took our other pizza (the incorrect one), inspected it, and flipped out because our son had one slice. Ok. Today I ordered from there for my last time. The pizza took an hour and a half to be delivered (I live 7 minutes away) and was cold when it got to me. I didn't even bother to call because I knew I would just get blamed and flipped out on. Unbelievably unprofessional people. read more

My friends and I decided to eat dinner at Cosimo's because it was a local restaurant that we've ate at often and always liked. When we were greeted by our waitress she was average and slightly rude. As the night progressed she came and checked on us once or twice and we never saw again until our checks were handed to us. When we received them back my friends change, although a dollar or so, was gone and the waitress was standing near the table staring at us. I signed my recite and handed the waitress the bills. We saw the first thing she did was check the recites for money. However my friends and I collectively put a cash tip on the table and stood up to leave the restaurant. On our way out our waitress stopped us and extremely rudely said "really no tip girls" and stomped away. In disbelief of the utter rudeness my friend walked up to the waitress and told her it was on the table. Without an apology the waitress once again rudely said ok and stormed off. I have never experienced such rudeness at a restaurant before and really can't believe someone would do that to a customer. We later spoke to a worker over the phone about the incident and said he would try to handle it. Hopefully he was serious and the issue was sorted out. read more
