I was there Tuesday, July 2, 2024, and ordered a Gluten Free Southwestern pizza due to having Celiac. Turns out they gave me a regular pizza. I was so sick on my drive home that I had to pull over where I proceeded to throw up numerous times. I threw up three more times after arriving home. I'm still recovering on 7/6. I called the Restaurant on 7/4 and asked to speak to a manager. The manager was too busy to come to the phone and I was told they would call me back. It is 7/6 and I still have not received a call back. Thumbs down on this restaurant. read more

My daughter and I were going to split a large cheese but they only do 12 in. personal pizzas which worked out for me because I like a little something on my pie. So I got sausage on mine. They are wood fired with lots of tasty sauce and plenty of cheese. I thought there could have been more sausage on mine. The pizza was good but I think it would shine more as an appetizer split with others and then go for one of the many entrees that sounded good. I will go back next time for one of those entrees. Service was great and our waitress was friendly. I'm sure if I had one of their entrees which seemed quite generous I would rank higher. read more

Our server was great- he was a young kid maybe college student and very attentive. I prefer to sit at the bar but I had my mom with me so we went to a table in a sort of side room... clean and neat but nothing spectacular. The pizza's are very tasty! We had 3 diff flavors- margherita, sausage, and the zucchini/ squash variety that I had them add sauce and cheese to (will not order that again) GET THE MEATBALL APPETIZER!! You're welcome! The CBO burger is the best burger that I've ever had. The toasted focaccia bun, fresh quality ingredients. To die for! The margherita pizza amazes me every time. The sauce is fresh and flavorful. The cheese is perfect. The shaved parmesan on the Caesar salad is worth eating on its own. To sum up: carefully chosen fresh ingredients prepared perfectly. read more

After spending the morning walking over the Hudson, we were craving pizza. Found this place on Yelp. We were hot and dehydrated from our walk. When we first walked in all we wanted was ac and water. The hostess found us a table away from the suns and our waitress kept our glasses full of water, even leaving a pitcher on our table. The pizza was really really good. We got the spinach and bacon. The ricotta on top was melt in your mouth smooth. Yum. My only complaint with the pizza was that it only came in 1 size. Which is too big for 1 person but not really big enough for 2. Also tried the pasta special. The ravioli were disappointing but the mushroom cream sauce tempted me to lick the plate. If I ever find myself in Poughkeepsie again, I would be happy to stop by again. read more

This place is absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The exterior areas are so well kept and nicely laid out, and the inside is just stunning. We sat on one of many patio seating areas which gave us a nice view of the night sky. Food is a little on the pricey side. Most entrees clock in right around $18, with many priced above. We opted for salads and soups which were tremendous. Flavorful, well-dressed, and made with all fresh ingredients. Drinks range from $8-$12, which aren't the worst in the world. Dessert was the standout though. The Irish coffee, while pricey, was wonderful. As was the apple pizzette (dessert pizza). There was not a thing we didn't enjoy on the menu! Definitely coming back here. Our server was also very attentive and was following proper safety protocols which is always great to see. And in the roughly two hours we were at the place, we saw a gentleman come by to clean various things no less than three times. Very nice to see. Cosimo's was the perfect place for goodbye dinner with our daughter as she starts her exciting college chapter. The restaurant has a modern, yet family ambiance. Surprisingly, it was busy and yet, the hostesses were friendly and offered us an outdoor seat, which was perfect! Right next to grape vine garden. Our servers were attentive, waters always full, antepasti came quickly and was delicious! Our main courses (Brazini fish, NY Steak, and Lasagna for our daughter) were beautifully plated, portions perfect, and so delicious and well balanced. For dessert we ordered a Choc Cake, Creme Brūlee, and I enjoyed a dolce leche gelato. Best flavorful and rich gelato I have had outside of Italy in a long time! read more

I don't think I really need to recommend this place. I think we've all been there by now. Everything is always great. The waffle rosemary fries w/ Gorgonzola cream are not to be missed(I recommend you get the sauce on the side and dip to avoid sogginess). The long pepper and sausage pizza is hard to pass up and I crave it. The snapper puttanesca w/ creamy polenta & Brussels sprouts is a delicious healthy option. Ordered via ubereats, and got food poisoning. I got a brick oven pizza with sausage, croquettes, and a cannoli. The pizza had a thick pile of ground sausage meat (in a grease puddle) in the middle of the pie - which was not what I was expecting. The crust was disappointing as well. I attempted to salvage a few slices, and deeply regret it bc it made me very sick. The croquettes were different than croquettes I've had in the past, but not necessarily bad. The good news is that the cannoli was great. This was my second time ordering from here and the first time (penne vodka) was just ok, so I decided it was worth a second chance. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience here last Friday. It was highly-recommended by peers and family. We were able to make same-day reservations and were seated immediately upon arrival. We got the crispy mozzarella with marinara sauce for appetizers---a definite must-have! They also provided complimentary bread. The white bread was okay (needed to be toasted). I always joke that I'll get full on bread and appetizers but our entrées arrived before we even had a chance to finish the mozzarella sticks! I ordered the spicy chicken fusilli, which was delicious! (HIGHLY RECOMMEND, has a nice kick). They also have an amazing red sangria---just the right amount of sweet. My boyfriend ordered the white sauce clam pasta, which I thought was a little dry. There is something to be said about consistency. As a customer, knowing what to expect in terms of a company's performance or services is almost equally important as the quality. Admittedly, there are several establishments that I frequent because they are consistently good. I know that while I will not be "wowed" by their offerings, they have a proven track record with me that I know that I won't be disappointed. Then we have Cosimo's. Not only are they consistent, they are consistently excellent. Their staff at the Poughkeepsie location is helpful, happy, attentive without being overbearing, their cocktails are always on point and their food is nothing short of divine. Their presentation and thoughtfully seasoned dishes are second to none, making Cosimo's one of, if not my favorite Italian Restaurant in the Hudson Valley. They have raised the bar and other local restaurants should take notes. Also, the Middletown and Newburgh locations offer the same experience, which really defines consistency. read more

at some point, Americans need to understand that less is more. a wood fire is a complete waste of resources if you load up a pizza with two inches of toppings. its impossible to cook it properly. we are fat enough, and we are all pre diabetic. lighten up, for f'a sake. we don't need a pound of cheese on a 12" pizza. ridiculous. pastas are just okay. not the worst. broc rabe was good but somehow bland. Eating in there restaurant, amazing. Their food is delicious and staff is awesome. As far as using them for catering, terrible. Worst management I've ever seen. Took almost a month of calling the restaurant everyday sometimes a few times a day, to get the "off site" catering manager to ever get back to me. I was told over and over that he'd call me back he was busy or that he wasn't in and would return my phone call. He didn't. And once I finally received an email with the catering package, it of course didn't include pricing for anything. So I was back to the drawing board of phone calls again to get pricing. read more

I love Cosmos normally. Every time we are in the area, we stop. This week at this location, they really over salted the water. I couldn't even eat the chicken francese pasta on Wednesday when we took my in-laws out for a birthday. The service that day was horrible too. They had a new young man, but he didn't listen to anything we asked. We stopped again today and I had the sausage with ricotta pasta. The flavor was good, but the pasta was over salted again. I thought it was a once and done on Wednesday, but evidently not. I won't come back to this location. I hope the other locations are better cooks. And it's located so close to CIA but I guess chefs aren't from there. read more

Had dinner with friends last night at Cosimo's in Poughkeepsie for the second time. Will be back again even though it's a one-hour trip for us. Great atmosphere and service with a stupendous menu. We had tasty appetizers before the main course (roasted tomatoes, calamari, prosciutto, etc.), discovered a great wine Montepulciano Abruzzi if I'm spelling it correctly, and I just couldn't resist my all-time favorite of chicken parm with penne. While the tiramisu dessert looked fabulous (my friend had that), I just had to end the meal with creamy vanilla ice cream with a hardy drizzle of raspberry sauce. We went here tonight to celebrate my mother-in-law's 82nd birthday, the food was good. The service was good. However, when we arrive, we were told that we had to be out of there by 8 PM because they have another reservation for that table so we had to shorten a rush through our birthday party for my mother-in-law because of this young girl telling us this. This was extremely upsetting to my entire family and will most likely never go there again. What makes this even more upsetting is that we have been going to this restaurant since it open. I have sponsored no less than six parties. They are over the years and to be told that I had to have my dinner and be out of there within a certain time. I was recommended Cosmos by a friend of mine who raves about their food, so last night I decided to give them a try. Located right off of rt 9 it is very easy to get to. Inside is beautifully decorated and clean. The restaurant is divided into several sections which cut down on noise. We were seated in a smaller room off to the left, which was very peaceful. For starters I ordered fried calamari, bread and oil is also served when your seated. Calamari was good, but if you do not like tentacles you may not like it (I do so I did not mind). Cosmos tomato sauce is flavorful. For my main meal I ordered lobster risotto and my date ordered salmon. My risotto appeared to be soupy when served, so I had my doubts. As it cooled it thickened a bit, but I would have to say it was more like a chowder. Taste was good, and it was loaded with larger lobster pieces. The salmon dish tasted well, but was a bit over cooked on one end. Overall we both enjoyed our meals and would go back. read more

Whenever we're in the area we stop by for a lunch, unfortunately today was a bad day for us. My wife ordered the flat bread with fig and balsamic glaze, it was horrible, the glaze was really a jam and made the taste so sweet we couldn't eat it, we also had the chucerie platter, again, both of us were terribly disappointed. There was only one slice of prosciutto, a bunch of ham that was shredded, not even sliced, two slices of mozzarella, a bunch of artichoke and baby eggplant with sweet and hot peppers, all very bland. But what got me was the price of a bottle of Budweiser, $6.00, REALLY? Simple addition means $36.00 dollars for a six pack? Come on, this is a DOMESTIC beer, not imported. A fair price for profit is $4.00 to tops $4.75 and they would still make a nice profit. This was our last time here. read more
