I would NOT recommend going to Corvette Care unless you do not have a problem with handing over a large sum of money and your car with only the knowledge that you will get the car back someday and handing over another large sum of money without question. I first called in mid-January to get a quote on replacing the 350TH transmission with a 700R4 in the 1979 Corvette to make it more highway drivable. After calling back every for 6 weeks with the promise from Ryan that I would have the quote anywhere from 1/2 an hour to the next day, I finally gave up and forgot about the whole thing. In Mid-April I got a call from Ryan if I was still interested in which I informed him that I had given up on him. He told me that the quote was emailed and text to me over a month ago. Neither was true. It took a couple of days, but I finally got a quote from him, and I was told by the end of June he would be doing the work. At the end of June, I was contacted to pay half up front so they could order the parts so the work could be started by Mid-July. His invoice included over 1,000 to transport the car which he told me was included. I paid the invoice but not the 1,000. I told him at this time that the tires are not the correct size, and the speedometer gears would have to be changed because the speedometer does not show the correct speed. Mid-July I called and asked why he had not picked the car up? I was told all the parts had not come in and when they did, he would get the car and start work, it should be at the end of July. The end of July came, and he had not picked up the car. So, I called and was told that there was one more car in front of mine and he would pick the car up after that. The second week of August still has not picked the car up. Frustrated I told Ryan I was done and wanted my money back and forget the whole thing. After some talking, he agreed to pick the car up the next week and after another car that was ahead of mine was done, he would start on my car. At this point I reminded Ryan that the tires on the car were not the correct size. He told me he remembered and it would not be a problem. The car sat at his shop for 2 1/2 months before I got it back. More unreturned phone calls and lies about why the car is not being worked on. When he was ready to bring it back, he sent me an invoice for more than 1,000 over what we agreed on. When I called him about this, his answer was he did not know where that invoice came from and sent me another invoice with the correct amount. I got the car back in mid-October and drove it a few times to find the speedometer was not correct. I called Ryan and told him about the speedometer was not correct. He told me he would call me back and let me know what he was going to do. I was not surprised he did not call back and was just going to do it myself when three weeks later, as I was walking past the car I noticed transmission fluid under the car. I called Ryan and told him the transmission was leaking and he still needed to do something about the speedometer. A month later, he showed up and told me it would be a two-day turn around. I knew he was lying to me but went with it. I had asked if he could look at a bolt hole that has started to strip under the thermostat because it was leaking. I figured it would be 100 - 200 for him to do it. At least he would make a little on driving all the way to get the car. 4 weeks later, and a bunch of calls and being lied to again, the work was finally done, and he gave me a bill of almost 800.00 to fix the striped hole. When I asked why so high he told me it was 2 1/2 hours of work and noticed I was double charge on something and knocked it down to just under 700.00. I could have replaced the Intake Manifold for with a new one for half the price for what it cost to repair a stripped bolt hole. After putting the car in the garage and shutting it off I tried to restart it again. Nothing happened, not even a click. Ryan got into the car and shifted gear a few times and it finally started. He said it was because of the cold. I am guessing it has something to do with the neutral switch but I was not going to have him take it back. I will figure it out or have someone else do it. By the way the thermostat is still leaking. Again I will figure it out or pay someone else to. This nightmare started in Mid-January and ended in Mid-January of the next year. One full year of hell. Oh. He did give me a used tarnished air cleaner to add to the engine bay on a car that I have won awards from NCCC judges. read more

They picked my vette up in an enclosed trailer and transported there and back for only $25 each way. I can't wait to get out and cruise with my new mods. After taking my 2001 Corvette to CORVETTE CARE last summer for MINOR MAINTENANCE, I think it's only fair to let NEW paying customers know how I was treated and how I lost $700.00 taking my Corvette to them. Everyone that reads this must understand that I've dealt with Corvette Care for over 20 years and never ever had these issues. I was a customer of the original owner Lloyd, a great and honest man, and had a great relationship with Scott, never had any issues until Ryan became the owner. I don't know about anyone else but the worst of the worst kind of people are BLATANT LIARS. This is what I feel happened to me. I took my car to them, something happened that changed my tune at thier shop and now the result is myself losing $700.00 hard earned dollars and the owner lying through his teeth to continue to NOT make his shop look bad or to LOSE ANY CUSTOMERS. The current owner is such a GREAT bullshitter that when you are talking to him you can see him thinking and making up BS as he talks. Watch him really close and watch how he just OVERTALKS you and tries really really hard to make you believe what he's saying. I went in originally for minor maintenance but after getting the car back a CHECK ENGINE light mysteriously came on. Drove the car for 3 years with NO ISSUES but now my horn starts honking after locking the car which never happened, I take the c5 back to him and he has the car for over a week SITTING OUTSIDE. The car was a DIRTY mess, which takes me three hours to detail it again to where it was before. Ryan lied a second time telling me he would store my car inside. When I went to pick up the car, I talk to Ryan and he looks me straight in the eye and tells me that "I AM NOW UNDER THE CORVETTE CARE UMBRELLA IN CASE THAT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON , AND THAT I'M COVERED" LIAR!!! After handing this guy $700.00 of my hard earned money he looks at me again square in the eye and says "YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY MORE PROBLEMS WITH THAT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" but if you do, just bring it back in a we'll take care of it. LIAR! I'll be damned if the light didn't come back on with 2 days. Now the problem with getting back in touch with Ryan,which took a few days. I call him and tell him the light is back on and he tells me to come back over, I get there and he doesn't even RESPECT me enough to come out of his office and great me... unreal! I bet people that go in there driving new Corvettes throwing down thousands don't get the same treatment as I did. BEWARE FOLKS! His mechanic comes out finally and puts the scanner on my car and then told me it's the EXACT SAME CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE that I brought the car back in for. Ryan wasn't there and didn't hear the mechanic tell me that. It's just unbelievable to me that I paid $700.00 to ELIMINATE my check engine light issue, but they ignored it and came up with another FIX. Telling me that my o2 wiring sensors needed replaced. What I SHOULD HAVE done is asked if this would eliminate the LIGHT? Would he have told me the truth? Now, everyone please understand and that it's totally understandable that Ryan, with his ability to sell someone a pile of crap off the sidewalk is going to read my post and start RUNNING HIS MOTORMOUTH so that he makes ME look like the bad guy and he'll deny everything that I've written. Honestly though, I don't have any reason to lie, I've already WASTED MY MONEY AT HIS SHOP. Why would I need to create lies about a repair shop? If they TREATED ME FAIRLY then this post would be POSITIVE. The saddest thing is now I have to take my car to another repair shop, most likely MIKE NORRIS MOTORSPORTS in Indianapolis to fix what CORVETTE CARE couldn't. VERY SAD THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR A SECOND TIME. BE CAREFUL PEOPLE!!! THIS SHOP HAS NO SCRUPLES!! Ask the important questions and record what he says... Well I have owned this 2004 ZO6 Z16 for a little over 4 years and it has never ran as good or as reliable as after they worked on it. The customer experience and work performed on my car are what is important to me and Corvette Care exceeded my expectations. Had a Royal Flush done (all fluids flushed and refilled), dyno tune, new brake pads and rotors, new O2 sensors replaced since they were a issue, and replaced a cooling hose that was cracked.
