Great sandwich, decent service. based on the name alone - had to order the Rocky Balboa. Can't walk past the italian stallion. What an incredible sandwich it was! Pancetta was incredible. And the broccolini was a nice touch.. I was surprised that I liked it but I definitely liked it. Would've liked a TINY bit more salt on it, but that's my only real complaint. My dad opted for a cold sandwich option (bad choice, amateurish!) - but he prefers it and loved the sandwich he had. I can't remember the name but it was their "signature" option. Overall, food was great. Service was acceptable, if a bit prompt. KInd of lacked that "flare" I like to see for the fifth star - but I'll definitely be back here for sandwiches in future. read more

The food is really good, the meatball sub is ungodly, I don't think I've had one that good before. The food tastes fresh and the serving size is large. A meatball Sammy that is 6'' can for sure be shared for most people. Thing is large. Great flavors and never anything bland. We have been there a few times and while I get the same thing each time it never tastes different. One of the best Sammy places I've been too. They do phone orders, online through here and in person. Might be the best sandwich I've ever had.......Cortinas version of the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich is, in a few words, practically perfect! Their bread is always incredible and the way they cook the roast beef and veggies gives it a perfect crust and flavor and the addition of both American and mozzarella is definitely unique and a massive improvement from your standard Philly. My only edit was to add the spicy giardiniera. The bummer is that it was so good, I don't see how I order a different sandwich from here anymore! read more

I was disappointed in my visit here. I brought my daughter here to celebrate her birthday. We ordered a Turkey Sandwich and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The sandwich seemed like it was mostly bread (to which I didn't eat half of it). The turkey was fresh and the lettuce, tomato and onions were as well. The fettuccine was fair with the sauce mostly at the bottom of the bowl. The bread that was served with the pasta had a funky taste to it. We left still hungry and needed to go somewhere else. It was disappointing to spend $30 and leave hungry. Unfortunately I will need to go elsewhere for a good sandwich and pasta. read more

Pretty amazing Italian sandwiches. Extremely poor service/unorganized staff. Went in on a Thursday afternoon - the process to order was a bit hectic as there was a line that clearly wasn't organized and dividing into 2 lines. When I went up to order, the cashier decided it would be the perfect time for a shift change and had me standing there for a few minutes before directing me to the other cashier (things happen, I get it, but maybe have the other cashier take me next rather than leaving me to dry?). This was followed up by waiting around for about 20 minutes as I saw 3-4 people who had larger orders of multiple sandwiches picking up and leaving (they ordered after I had entered the store). Went up to the cashier and asked about my order - low and behold, it's been sitting on their service counter for the past 10 minutes. Not offered an apology - but thankfully the sandwich was pretty good! I'll probably be back, but will make sure to keep my standards for service at a lower level. read more

Italian eatery indeed! I see the name, Cortina, and my heart skips a beat. The original Anaheim location has been a favorite of ours for many years. This location does not disappoint, same wonderful, freshly prepared foods and tasty, quality ingredients in their sandwiches and entrees as the mother ship, just smaller and without the little bakery and import market (which I happen to love). I was pretty hungry and my friend suggested we go get sandwiches from Cortina and it was the right choice. The inside of the restaurant has a few tables with a lot more seating outside. It is pretty packed even on weekdays. The cashier was very friendly and the place was pretty clean. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with spicy hot giardiniera mix. It wasn't nearly as hot as the name implied. It was packed with a lot of meat and a ton of cheese. The bread was fluffy inside and toasted nicely on the outside. The sandwich was delicious, but the price seems a little too steep. Overall, I will likely return and try something else a bit cheaper. read more

Lately been on a sandwich crave and remembered coming to their Anaheim location years ago. This place gets busy and the phone rings non-stop while people are coming in and out and in and out. Fire fighters, police officers, emt's, park workers, construction workers, office workers, I think I saw nearly every field of work while waiting. The girl taking my order seemed to be a bit tired... Ordered a meatball sub, prosciutto sandwich, sides, and some meatballs. The bread here is a bit chewy and tough for my liking but there is a lot of flavor. The sandwiches were both good with a lot of flavor and with an ample amount of filling. My favorite part of the meal was the meatball as they were pippin hot and packed with flavor. Don't bother coming here if you actually want what you ordered.... Picked up lunch today, took it home and discovered only one of my two sandwiches was correct. Bag was properly labeled so I didn't actually open both sandwiches to verify that they were correct. The meatballs were soft, delicious cradled in this delicious sauce which was clearly homemade and crafted from some other heavenly place on earth outside of the Orange County industrial site that this little slice of heaven sits on. I ordered the six inch and could barely finish it. The bread is a stand out crunchy exterior, chewy interior, holds all the contents without getting soggy. I loved it. I ordered a six inch Italian sub to go, it was loaded with every type of Italian cold cut, fresh veggies, delish dressing. Just perfect. What an unfortunate experience. I read that one review where someone mentioned waiting 30 minutes for a sandwich which surprised them but I had hoped that was a one off. Nevertheless, I called my order in expecting for the worse. 11:15 I called my order in. A simple 10" Italian cold-cut aka cortina special. She says 20 minutes on the phone. I show up 20 minutes later, it's not ready. I wait until 45 minutes I ask again hey where's my order it's been 45 minutes for a cold cut? Suddenly minutes later, it appears. Guys... 47 minutes on the dot for a freaking cold cut non toasted nothing special about it sandwich. To make matters worse, it was basic. It didn't stand out as anything special. It was a heavy, relatively bland, Italian sandwich. I definitely wouldn't come back, nor can I recommend it. If the price was dropped $2-3 dollars and the wait wasn't insane, I'd say sure it's mediocre. If you're looking for a solid place to get a sandwich and wait no more than a few minutes, there is no exception to The Bronx. I love a deli sandwich now and then and as hungry as I was this still let me down. To be fair as possible I've only ever gone to the Anaheim location before and all the food has been great. One of my favorite sandwich shops for deli sandwiches. Got a 6 inch pastrami sandwich and it was chocked full of pastrami meat and cheese along with toasted wheat bread. The cheese was melted well and mixed with the pastrami meat, which was tender and flavorful. The wheat bread was slightly dry, but it didn't take away from the sandwich.
