Cornerstone Pizza is definitely an old school, no frills type of pizzeria located on the corner of Fern Creek Avenue and Michigan Avenue, next to Orlando's iconic Johnny's Filling Station. Pulling into the parking lot, I have to say that parking is rather limited and the exterior definitely has seen better days. They have a sign pole that no longer has a sign and the building is drab and the name painted on the building definitely appears to be a DIY project. Walking in doesn't make it any better, if anything, it just continues to spiral downward. The inside is small, cramped and in desperate need of a serious deep cleaning. I mean this place was beyond not having ambiance. I think it would have been preferable to sit outside in an alley lined with dumpsters and broken streetlights. There were two gentlemen working and while service was not overly friendly, it was not bad. I had ordered online (on Mondays, there is a twenty discount if you order online) and was very early for my pickup. One of the gentlemen conveyed that it would be about fifteen more minutes until my pizza would be ready. I settled in and waited. There were only two other customers in the place at about five o'clock in the afternoon. Soon enough my pizza was ready and I was on my way. Upon arriving home, I tore into the pizza. First, the pizza definitely needs more cheese. The sauce was also a bit sweet.the crust was not bad, however, it was a bit overcooked. I had driven by this spot without stopping for many years and I am happy that I finally stopped here and gave it a try. However, I just did not think it was anything special and even calling it mediocre would be a kind description. I do not think that I will be returning. read more

Best 20 wings & large pizza deal in Orlando! Yes I said it! Hot wings all the way. They are crispy and the perfect amount of spiciness and the pepperoni pizza is so good. It's a thin pizza New York style if you are a fan of that kind. I've never been inside so I can't share about the service but this is one of my favorite places to order from. It's fast and always the same great quality. I typically order for pick up and it's always ready fairly quick and piping hot and fresh. I ate here once a long time ago and for some reason forgot to go back until now. I won't make that mistake again! We ordered a large pizza and wings for delivery. The delivery came promptly and the driver found our apartment which was awesome because delivery drivers usually have a really hard time with finding it. The food was still warm and fresh. The wings had a good flavor and were a generous size. I also liked the ranch they use. I'd like the wings a little crisper so I'll probably ask for that next time. The pizza was also very good. The sauce had a fresh, herby flavor that I really enjoyed. There was a good amount of cheese and toppings and the crust had a nice crunch to it. It ranks high for the pizzas I've tried! There's few times when I've felt unwelcome somewhere, but that's how this place felt. I'm actually shocked reading the reviews here that praise the service. I walked in wearing a face covering and the way I was looked at by the unmasked employees, I could tell judgment was being passed. I wasn't greeted with a hello, but a "did you call ahead?" I said "no, I need to order." I knew that they did pizza by the slice, but is still asked because I couldn't find a menu immediately and he seemed to want to keep the interaction short. I got my two slices to go because as others have stated, the place looks like an absolute dump. The pizza is not rave worthy. The crust is a little too crispy (dried up from reheating from lunch?) and although the sauce is on the sweet side, I don't mind. Each slice was like $2, so value for the money seems okay. I used to order my pizza and wings here all the time because it was the closest thing to New York Style pizza and the wings were good, UNTIL one evening when I picked up several pizzas to take to a family gathering. Suddenly our dad, who is 70, pulls a metal thumb tack out of his mouth after taking a bite of pizza. So, I called the store to let them know about the hazard and a young girl answered the phone. Tried this place as we're doing our best to support small business. Not very impressed. Ordered lunch pizza listed at $8.99 with one topping. I asked for extra cheese and was told ok, 30 minutes. When I arrived, they charged me an extra $1.50 and said extra cheese doesn't count as a topping. I waited an extra 15 minutes past quoted time and they still undercooked the pizza. Brought it to their attention and was told it was browned on the bottom and that should be good enough. You'd think a small place would have enough integrity to be honest and accurate, but not today. Cornerstone has EXTREMELY good pizza. Out of the many places I've tried in the Orlando tri-county area, this is the only one that comes close to what I consider a quintessential NY slice. Get the cheese pizza. Get lots of it. It's okay if there are leftovers. I promise, you'll want them later again. The slices aren't quite as big as an NY slice, but the quality of the pizza is almost as good as the paradigm NY slice. Of course there are places in New York that are worse than this, but they are rare and not valued by NYC residents I'd drive well out of my way to get this pizza if I craved it living here in Orlando though. For God's sake, don't waste your money and time on that overpriced and tasteless pizza they have downtown. You can get a quick slice here for $2 instead of $4.50 downtown and TRUST ME, it tastes a hell of alot better and is much closer to an NYC slice. Cornerstone doesn't make any claims, they just make the pie. The downtown pizza place claims to have the NY slice, but they give you a pizza that's anything but nice. read more
