I previously wrote a review detailing that I had my Jeep towed to the dealership only to subsently find out that they would even be able to look at my car for over a month. I had an issue with my Jeep Wrangler where it wouldn't start. Hence we needed to have it towed in order to have the problem diagnosed. we call Cornerstone, and no issues bring it in. What they neglected to tell us was that it would be over a month before they could even look at the car to tell us what was wrong. I found this out only when I called to check status. As a result, I had to pay a $200 towing charge to take the car to another dealer, when it would have been covered under AAA. Make sure you ask when they will be able to look at your car, as once they have it on their lot, they dont care, and most people will just wait it out read more

I took my Chrysler 200 here for 2 recalls. They were great about it. About a month and a half after, I started getting notifications on my dash that my car was overheating. I took it to a mechanic and they couldn't find anything wrong and suggested I take it back to Cornerstone. Once I contacted Cornerstone, they were able to get me in, in a timely manner. Only a week. I checked in and they were very professional. They also shuttled me to work! I normally don't like dealing with dealerships due to their pressing tones but everyone I've gone here, I've had a pleasant visit. read more

I set up an appointment for an oil change online. Prior to appointment I was called and told to cancel my appointment I can just show up whenever for quicklanes. I showed up and was told 2 hours to wait for an oil change, I wasn't thrilled but waited. At hour 3 my van was not pulled in yet. As people that came in after me we already complete, I heard the advisor say appointments take priority and walk ins get bumped. I took my keys and left. 1 year and 5 months later I have almost put 10k into the Jeep Compass. -Brakes -Struts -Wheel Barrings -Battery (start/stop feature did not work, which they knew and even stated it was a battery issue at purchase). -Tires (stated they were new at purchase). I am a single mother that wanted a vehicle to last us but unfortunately I was sold crap. I never had this many problems with a vehicle I purchased with way more miles. Comes to find out Jeep compasses have some of the most problems. So I purchased my Mazda CX5 2021 from Ben Anderson. He was great to work with while purchasing the vehicle. About 7 months into having the vehicle a "check engine" light had come on. I scheduled an appointment with their service department, and this is when i started having second guesses with this company. I was told that I needed to replace my thermostat for my 2021 vehicle. I was quoted $1,211.89 and was told the cost was mainly from the parts. I did some research on the part costs without installation. Mazda charges $589.98 for the part. So I am not sure where they are choosing to buy these pieces, but they are overcharging for them. I said that I would get a second opinion due to my car was not acting like that was what was wrong with it since it was not overheating in any way. Upon leaving the garage, their young blond girl who drives another car almost hit me and would have if I did not lay on my horn. I brought my car to another mechanic who said that the thermostat was not the issue at all and was unclear how they could have even gotten that error. Over the last 6 weeks, I have been trying to get into contact with Charlie who is the service manager for CornerStone. I have left him countless messages with my work schedule, and he returns calls only during times that I am not working. He is never there past 4pm either. Again I have left detailed messages with my phone number, name, and the hours I am available to be contacted by phone. And I have not heard back during the times that I a available. I would not suggest getting your car fixed with these guys because they do not seem to know what they are doing. And you most likely will be overpaying for a part that your car does not need. I brought my car in for a rattling noise toward the rear of my Jeep Wrangler, and they found the heat shield rivet had come out, they repaired it, that part was fine. But then they gave me a quote for rear axel seals leaking and a leak in the coolant system. Each of these were quoted at more than $1300. Seemed excessive so I checked around to some local mechanics and found both were more than double all other quotes. Nothing wrong with trying to make money, but I don't agree with gouging. Protect your investment, shop somewhere else! I had the GM Chris looses his mind at me, saying he would press charges against me if I came there and shared what happened to me at this dealer!!! I have made multiple purchases to pick up parts at this dealer, 100% of the time I was given wrong parts, including Ford parts given to me for my RAM. This dealership will lie to you, either that or be completely incompetent as they tell you the trucks came with a black C pillar, but a beige seat belt harness. Then they will even weaponize incompetence as they hold my safety harness for weeks, not even letting me know they have my part for over a week and a half, as they say I'll have to make a 2 hr trip to go pick it up, again, and again, and again hoping maybe this time they actually hand me the part I showed them on my receipt even! This place steals from me, as they threaten to press charges for me telling people how they've taken care of me! Well when you see me standing out there holding a sign, feel free to talk and I'll tell you the full story! Not worth your time, liars, cheats, who don't know what they're talking about, and I can tell you they will not give you parts you've already paid for unless you do all their leg work for their 0% completion rating! When you get bonus parts from them don't be stupid like me and tell them. I can promise you this isn't an isolated incident! I was also 100% professional until being forced to make up for your staff's constant lack of common sense or knowledge. We brought our KIA Forte in for regular service at Cornerstone KIA and walked away a few hours later at Ford/Chrysler across the street with a new Chrysler Limited Pacifica. Our sales associate Kirk Zroka leased the KIA to us three years ago and while we were getting service we went to speak with him about closing the lease and purchasing a Pacifica. He let us know that one just came in at the price we were considering. We took it out for a drive and loved it instantly. He then worked it out so that the lease was grounded and he paid the remaining lease balance of $1,300. SOLD. Kirk has been good always checking in with us during our lease and now he gave us a great deal on our new van. We really like the sales folks (Kirk, Andrew and Danny) at Cornerstone where we have purchased or leased five vehicles. This place is ok at best When it comes to service. My place of work requires me to go here to get our trucks serviced for oil changes which i have zero complaints about them! The guys were friendly. so I decided that maybe I should take my personal vehicle here to get some work done. I called on Saturday to get in appointment on Tuesday for a possible warranty I told the lady about. the guy who ended up helping me when I came in was rude. He didn't end up looking into the warranty like I requested from the beginning and wouldnt even speak to me when I came to get my car. Bought a truck from here less than a month ago and experience was HORRIBLE with the finance guy Jim. He was VERY RUDE AND LIED. First time we talked to him he had an attitude and yelled about not providing paperwork on one of the banks that pre-approved me he explained that that bank was offering a higher APR rate then the one he proved us with and I asked him for the paper showing the APR and he REFUSED to show us, and he said he would not provide it and if we wanted to use that bank he would not do business with us then after I said how am I not able to use the bank when it included it in their website that I could so I had to call the bank myself and I collected all the Info and turns out that bank offered a lower APR rate and was trying to screw us Into paying more. Even when we had 6,200 for a down payment and still gave us a high APR rate which at that point we didn't care we were fed up with everything and took it anyways. First off I want to start off by saying that I applied at four car dealerships due to reading Craigslist ads about how they can get you approved regardless of your credit. After applied at the fourth car dealership I drove off in a car that I didn't like and didn't fit me. I told the car dealership I didn't think I was going to like the vehicle and they said if I didn't to come back and help me figure something out. About three months later I tried to go back and talk to them they wouldn't help me I called another location where someone I know happen to work at and they couldn't help me either. I begin to give up hope after filing a bankruptcy realizing that I was stuck in a vehicle that I would have to pay for regardless if I didn't like it or not. I put up a Facebook post about my experience and another car dealership tried to help me and they couldn't either. They all said the same thing I lost equity in my vehicle which was a 2012 GMC Acadia with 123,000 miles on it. Throughout my Facebook post at least three people mentioned Cornerstone Auto and Rocky's name. I ignored it and when open my mail the next day and there was a flyer from Rocky and regards to being reestablished after bankruptcy. I set up an appointment with him he worked on my situation for at least 3 or 4 days. I came in we went through vehicles, talked about down payment and discussed working on my credit to get the vehicle that I want down the road. My final result.....Rocky got me in a 2016 vehicle with 16,000 miles on it and a car payment I can afford. Let me tell you what the best part of it all is. My interest rate went down to almost half the rate I was paying!!!!! The hard work and dedication that he showed me that there are still some good car sales people out there you just have to find the right one. He didn't try to pressure me into a certain vehicle he gave me options. BUYER BEWARE! I DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING A VEHICLE FROM THIS ELK RIVER CORNERSTONE. Avoid Cornerstone like the plaque and spare yourself from unhappiness and a costly experience. If you don't heed the warning...Do your homework before coming or purchasing a vehicle from Elk River Cornerstone! They are a bunch of DISRESPECTFUL RUDE LIARS and they don't offer FREE loaners when your vehicle is in for repairs. It's on YOU! We drove 1.5 hours to purchase a vehicle that was listed at a great price and come to find out that it had a new transmission (LIE) put in! We were told there were no issues with it (LIE) and it was a new transmission (LIE). We test drove it and went head and purchased it. As soon as we started driving home we felt something and thought it was part of the new transmission breaking in. It continued for a few weeks and we had several passengers in the vehicle that felt it too and said that the vehicle should not be doing that, turns out this new transmission is slipping. I called Cornerstone and they said they couldn't get me in for few weeks and to top of off they don't give loaner cars but only do rentals. Now we have to make multiple trips back and forth in order to get it fixed and they won't allow us to go to another Cornerstone that is closer to home, this is very frustrating. If I would have known any of this beforehand, we would have not have purchased this vehicle from them and so far from home. I went ahead and called the service manager. He was helpful in the beginning trying to help us out with our situation and frustration. He went ahead and had someone come meet me at the Plymouth location and brought a rental vehicle for us to use but there was a catch to that and he asked if I would change my rating to "5 star" after my vehicle has been fixed, If I could give them NO star I would This whole purchase and repair with Cornerstone has been a disastrous event for us. The LACK of COMMUNICATION and if you get COMMUNICATION it is VERY POOR. I haven't heard from nobody for a week and a half, so I sent the advisor a text message asking if there was any update with my vehicle. He then responded with that they had driven my vehicle "97 miles" and found no issues and would have to release it back to me. I sent another text back questioning them about it, they then responded with "we can't find any problems at this time" then I proceeded again to ask him to re-read my last text and answer my questions, he continued not to answer the questions I had asked. Oh yes! and to top it off, I told them I had several passengers in my car that all have felt the car slip and they make it sound like we are all crazy because they couldn't find anything wrong. I then talked to a rep and all she could tell me that "SEVERAL mechanics" took the vehicle out for a test drive and still found "nothing wrong". I then contacted Manager Conner with the service area. He took it out not even "12 miles" and said the vehicle acted up more than a dozen of times. Seems fishy to me that "SEVERAL mechanics" found nothing wrong but a manager took it out and found the issue right away! Apparently, Cornerstone has several unskilled mechanics working for them since none of them could diagnose the problem with the vehicle. So here we are 3 weeks later I finally have the vehicle back. Before I was trying to get my vehicle back I asked this "advisor" If I can and could get any and all copies of all the paperwork that they had for the vehicle as there appears to be "28 history records" on Car Fax and I also had inquired about returning this piece of junk back to them but of course I get no answer. I asked the manager which manager his manager spoke to about returning the vehicle as it's still a week later and still haven't heard back from the manager as they were supposable going to look into options for us to return it. I sent a text 3 times throughout the day and didn't hear a word back. I then was upset and sent a rude text and then finally got a reply still not answering my questions but telling me my vehicle was back in Plymouth. Surprise, Surprise that wasn't what I had asked in the first place!! Another issue we had was with the rude lady that handles the plate. It took 2 weeks for my plates to be sent out to me. I called them a week later stating that I haven't received them. The lady proceeded rudely that she doesn't know what to tell me because she knows that they were sent out and told me to call back the following week if they still hadn't arrived. They still didn't come. I called back and she again said I have to talk to someone else about getting duplicates sent out, because she didn't know what else to do for me! 2 days later the plates came in the mail. When I purchased this vehicle, they told me that the transmission was a "new" one that they put in, and come to find out it was re built. They just want your $$MONEY$$. Mark the Manager claims this is what they consider Brand new!! NOT SURPRISED AGAIN!! read more

Not happy with service... Brought my truck into Cornerstone Chrysler & Ford in Elk River, MN for an issue with the fuel sensor, air bag and my wipers turning on or off when ever it decides to. I was told an ~$800.00 replacement of the BCM was necessary for the wipers. I was told my truck was ready to go the following day, and picked it up. I ran my truck through the car wash and learned the issue with my wipers was not resolved. I brought the truck back 15 minutes later for the "EXACT" same issue. The following day I was told the truck was ready to be picked up (Noon) I asked to speak with a manager with regards to the repair, and was told no one was available and someone would call me back. I received a call back shortly after 4PM Friday, and of course no managers were available...sad. I finally got a call back on Monday to discuss the repair and was told that Relay and the BCM was bad. Apparently "moisture" got into the relay causing it to short. Really! A few things about electricity and circuits - when the voltage is bad the same parts that were impacted prior to the repair will result in the same parts being bad after the repair. Additionally if you tested with a bad relay, and did NOT test with a good relay YOU WILL SEE the same issue (Cornerstone look at your pin test in the service notes...). As I stated when I brought it in the wipers turn off and on when they want so sometimes they turn off when you want, but not usually. I am extremely disappointed with the fact you were not even willing to discuss any level compromise with me. I will never be back, and will never buy a vehicle from any Cornerstone dealer. I promise to tell at least 10 people about poor handling on a timely call back, as well as your unwillingness to even open a dialog for a compromise. Possible options: Refund the Part -or- Refund the labor for the BCM that was replaced unnecessarily. read more

***Beware**** Buys beware! I had a terrible experience last week at Cornerstone Ford and Chrysler. After traveling 4 hours to look at and test drive a truck I sat down with the salesman to go over the numbers. Numbers for my trade in came back fairly quickly which was alarming considering they said they would look at my trade in and then didn't. Salesman came back with a trade in offer 4K below the avg trade in amount for my truck. Mind you the truck I was trading in is in great shape with low miles. Avg trade in on this truck is 20100, I was offered 16. On the low end my trucks trade in is 18.5k. Frustrated I left the dealership. As I got to my truck it was very apparent that my truck I was trading in hadn't been moved. The salesman emailed me later that night and I replied back with my frustrations on my experience and simply let him know that lowballing my trade in like that was bad business practice. Two days later I received an email from the salesman. To sum up that email I was basically told we were too far off our numbers and the reason for the low trade in offer was to make up for the low sticker price on the truck I had been looking at. At this point I had reached out to the GM of the dealership and received one email from a supervisor saying they wanted to make it right. I replayed back and haven't heard anything since the truck I looked at sold. read more

Didn't service my vehicle right, now having issues but they won't stand behind their work

Bought a 2013 Ford Escape SEL (which I will be happy to prove should I need to), which advertised as part of its "SYNC" capabilities a "3-year, prepaid GPS" location system. I drive for Lyft/Uber and wanted that as a backup to the normal map app. 1. I found out after a few days it wasn't included. They would not re-nogotiate the price even though I was clearly sold something as a 'bait-and-switch.' Then I found out Ford Motor Co. wont spend the money to re-tool it's hardware/software upgrades for these types of things 3-years and older, so I gave up any idea of returning it. In other words, with Ford you get a "screw you"from the manufacturer as well as the dealership for not telling the truth about it. Their supposed "fix," first the "SYNC app" and then the "Ford App" is little more than advertisements for products, and an automatic recall system, which (not surprisingly?) it turns out I had been sold a car which needed a SYNC recall but still wouldn't provide a GPS system, which - let's not forget - I paid for. 2. As someone familiar with the credit industry, I was pre-approved by Capital One Auto prior to this. I had a 680 midscore between Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. I foolishly assumed Cornerstone's finance guy was being straight with me when he said therefore HE WOULD NOT SHOP my credit report with multiple financing groups, as that lowers your credit score dramatically with each query, and I agreed with him there was NO REASON TO. I was over 650 with each credit bureau. I forgot the "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" kickback relationships that exist between the finance departments of car dealerships and loan-sharks all over the country. These Cornerstone liars and cheats scratched the backs of every shylock in the country, driving my credit score into the same garbage pit I had struggled so many years to pull out of. I also bought (foolishly?) the full 3-year warranty, which is also probably not worth a damn. I won't go back to Cornerstone for free oil changes and car washes. The only people who appeared to know what they're doing was Heather in the Service Department, who had my SYNC upgraded according to the latest Ford guidelines, although still with no GPS, getting me a loaner, and handling all that. The worked with me and even offered a courtesy ride to an auto parts store if I find a battery for cheaper than what they were offering. They were able to get my vehicle up and running in under a day, which was desperately needed. read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for an SUV back in September and a friend of ours recommended Cornerstone. We worked with Nick (he was the only positive out of this whole experience) very friendly, helpful and made sure he could get us what we were looking for. We ended up choosing a 2014 Ford Explorer. We were told it had to go through their "inspection" process before we could drive it off the lot. No problem! We figured they were checking our vehicle for any issues so they could fix them BEFORE we took it home. After receiving our vehicle two days later due to the "inspection" process, we noticed that certain features in the car would only occasionally work (ex. cruise control, forward collision warning, blind spot warning, etc.) We were not made aware of these issues before purchasing the car and figured it was something they would have discovered during the inspection and either informed us that it would need to be fixed or would have diagnosed and fixed the issue during their inspection. We alerted Nick about our issues and he was very attentive to our concerns, but said if it continued to bring it back and have it checked out. All of those features continued to only occasionally work, so when we went back to get an updated 21 day paper plate for the car we were told just to keep an eye on it. Nothing was done. No one recommended anything. So during this "inspection" they not only did not check the electrical, but they did not check the oil, brake pads, or even rotate the tires according to our mechanic who takes care of our normal vehicle maintenance. We are now having to buy new brake pads and new tires after only owning the vehicle for 3 months. Do not waste your time at Cornerstone. They might have some wonderful sales people, but once you buy the car, they could pretty much care less. I will NEVER buy from Cornerstone again. read more

Went into Cornerstone and got our brakes replaced. The guy on the phone gave me one price, and then in person gave me another when I came to pay. Then blamed it on me for misunderstanding. 8 months later, our car was shaking when we would brake. Brought it into Elk River Tire and Auto (not wanting to go back to Cornerstone), and they told us our 8 month old brand new rotors were warped, and that Cornerstone should fix it. We checked, and our parts should have been covered under warranty. The repair guy said they wouldn't cover our parts because it was a "driving issue" and not a "mechanical issue." So, it was our fault that the rotors warped because we must drive poorly. Very frustrating. Vicki, one of the employees there, is fantastic. She's friendly, wonderful, and helpful. But the service department has been hugely disappointing and manipulative. read more

I bought a car from them two months ago. 2012 Ford Edge limited. I had one of the techs Matt Parker go through the vehicle to make sure nothing was wrong with it. He assured me that the car was in great condition. Well today I found out that what he failed to tell me was that the car was in an accident and almost totaled. I was told that the car was never in an accident. I ended up paying $24k for it. Now that we found out that the car pretty much has a salvage title we are selling it. But we are only getting offered $16k for it. Extremely disappointed in the service department and the sales department for screwing people over like this. I will NEVER recommend that anyone ever go to this dealership. My father and I are extremely pissed off right now for the lack of integrity this dealership has. If you can sell a lemon for $24k I don't know how you sleep at night. Do not go to this dealership to buy a car or have your car serviced on seeing how incompetent they are.. read more

THIS POST HAS BEEN REMOVED BY YELP AND I AM RE-POSTING. YELP SAYS I HAVE THE WRONG BUSINESS, BUT THIS IS THE BUSINESS THAT SCREWED ME OVER. The salesman at Cornerstone flat out lied to me on more than one occasion. The first red flag was they "pre-approved" me for my car online at $1500 down. Then when I showed up to pick up the car, the salesman tells me $1500 was not enough and I would now need to pay $2300 down. I almost walked out due to this treachery, plus I didn't have $800 more on me at the time. He told me they would take my $1500 as a deposit and I could return after my next check with the additional $800 - but I couldn't drive my car home until they had the full amount. So I returned 2 weeks later with the other $800, a little peeved but my credit was not the greatest, so I put up with it. My credit had taken a hit from a divorce and student loans, but I was making decent money at a good job and paying my bills. Anyway, when I bought the car 18 months ago, I was told by their sales manager that if I made my payments on time every month, then I could return in 12-18 months and they would let me trade that car in for an upgrade. Well, here it is, 18 months later. I have made every payment on time. In fact, I got a huge promotion and started making 25% more money than I was when I originally bought from these hucksters. And my credit has risen 100 points. So I went in 2 weeks ago to trade in my car for an upgrade. No dice. The salesman "Mac" told me yes, he remembered that promise being made, but that they would need a sizable down payment PLUS my trade in order to put me in a different vehicle. I emailed him and his sales manager Jay Hilley that I felt deceived and treated poorly. Neither of them would even bother to reply. I put my car on the market and it still had some remaining warranty through Cornerstone but I lost my copy of it. I called 3 times and emailed the service and sales managers for a copy of my warranty papers. No one ever replied to the emails and when I finally got the service dept. guy on the phone, he refused to send me a copy. He said it was to protect me from identity theft (???), so I'd have to drive all the way out to Elk River to pick it up in person. (I live in St Paul.) So I went to another dealership (White Bear Mitsubishi- 5 stars, by the way) and they took my trade and I drove away THAT DAY in the car of my choice. Cornerstone didn't care that they lost a customer or that they violated their claims of being a "faith-based" dealership. But I'll say this: if you see a Bible on the desk at a car lot, like I did when I bought my car from Cornerstone, you know you're getting screwed. After driving 40 minutes to look at a SUV for sale, we were dealt with the old bait and switch. The car Wayne "The Pickle Man" had waiting for us looked like the same vehicle we requested to see. While test driving, I looked down at the mileage to find it was NOT the same vehicle, and in fact had 40,000 more miles on it then the vehicle we requested to test drive. Upon return to the dealership, we told "The Pickle Man" that this was the wrong vehicle, he looks down at his sheet and says...."Oh my, I've never made this mistake before, how embarrassing. Let's head to my office and figure this out." To make a long story short, he ends up telling us that vehicle was sold about an hour before we arrived (yeah right), but he has a few other options for us. I call Bulls**t. I would never recommend or go back to Cornerstone again. I would really like to stick a pickle in Wayne's mouth to stop the lies from spewing from his mouth. For the record...they still have the vehicle that we requested to see available on their website. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. This is continuously the worst dealer I have ever interacted with. We have had 2 vehicles break down immediately after service here with no warranty or concern from the dealer. Their faulty workmanship and lack of attention to detail has cost me a Diesel engine on a third vehicle. Figure 2 hours for a "quick service" oil change if you're in the neighborhood. Yeah, that's shameful. In all honesty, if this isn't the worst dealer on the planet I am really scared for the future of mankind!! read more

I bought a used vehicle from Cornerstone about 9 months ago. Wayne Dietz (the pickle man) was the sales person that sold me my car. He was helpful during the whole buying process since I was from Fargo and had to take 2 trips to Elk River this was helpful. But as soon as I drove away with my car he couldn't remember who I was. It took my 2 and half months to get a refund back from the dealership. I also didn't receive my registration for my vehicle until 2 months after I bought it. And it wasn't the state of North Dakotas fault it was Cornerstones. They failed to send the paperwork out to the DMV in North Dakota and even when they told me they had double checked to make sure the paperwork had been sent it still was sitting in my file at the dealership. I would never recommend cornerstone to anyone they have no respect for you once they sold the vehicle. read more

I stopped in to check the value of my car which they said would take no more than 20 minutes when I was on the phone with them before I came in. I had a seat and the salesman asked if I wanted to test drive any vehicle in the mean time. I clearly stated no because I was not looking for a vehicle and just wanted to know what my trade value would be. He asked again and again and it was clearly over 20 minutes now. So I decided why not look at what they had on the lot. I test drove a car and when I came back he quickly started my financing paperwork before I even made an offer on the vehicle. Anyways I bought the car came home and tried calling back the next morning because I didn't realize the vehicle had no remote opener for the garage door and was missing quite a bit of features that I needed on a daily basis. When I called the number on the sales representatives card I was not be able to get to the salesman. I went through management and multiple calls to finally get a hold of him. His only response was "I'm getting a haircut. Sales are final. And I did not have to tell you that because it's not required" so I was very upset. He was very rude and stern on the call. Why didn't any manager tell me straight up when I was trying to get a hold of the salesman that they won't take a return. A lot of wasted time with these guys. Worst experience I have ever had. I don't recommend anyone going here. If you want good service I highly recommend Miller Chevrolet in Rogers or Cornerstone In Monticello. I will never return here for anything. Not even service of my vehicle. To top it off a women called to ask about my experience and when I told her what happened she seemed so concerned and said she would talk to management and get back to me to see if we would work something out, I NEVER received a call back or got a reply from her. read more
