The ribs and burger meat were tender. And the house-made pickles and fries were also a delight. Also something to be said for the order being done quickly. But we need to talk about their Mac n Cheese. "Enveloped" in creamy sauce? The sauce that was there was barely seasoned any hardly any actual cheese. Wow!!! From the the moment I stepped in to the moment I stepped out was a great experience. The guy at the front was super helpful as this was my first time at cornerstone. Smelled really good outside I knew I came to the right spot. I walked in thinking I wanted the brisket sandwich for sure. They had me sample the tri tip as well as the brisket. I was in disbelief!!! Service is terrible. Advertised all over social media about Father's Day special. Tried to order over the phone for tomorrow pick they refused to take order was told to order online. I attempted to order online, although the screen indicated everything was still available it would not take my order. I called back and was told I would have to stand in a long line tomorrow. I find this like a lot of places if the food is good they don't care about treating their customers respectfully. I personally will never know how the food is, as I will not spend my money their. My husband is a manager at a local business who purchased lunch for his employees. He was treated disrespectfully also. We were trying to give our local business a second chance they will not get a third. Diane from Cornerstone called back. She was very apologetic. I appreciate her response. This is the worst barbecue I have ever had the displeasure of putting in my face. I understand that barbecue takes time and attention. I even like pretty mediocre barbecue when they have attempted to, but failed at making decent barbecue. This, however, is a travesty. It's a sin against the animal parts and plant parts you have in your building. Found this small take out location and it was pretty good! The brisket was the star of the show, they wrap it in plastic wrap to rest and it comes out very moist. Had all the sides and believe it or not the beans were the best. read more

This was my first time eating at the new location and I was super excited. I loved the decor and feel of the restaurant itself and the staff was nice but the food was a let down. My pancakes only came with old banana slices out even though it was advertised to have whipped cream, powdered sugar, and syrup. I guess they saved me the sugar spike but still wanted the pancakes to come out how they said they would. The chicken and pulled pork in the other breakfast items were good but everything else like the chilaquiles and burrito were pretty basic in flavor. At Cornerstone BBQ, they serve real food. There is real meat, real beans, real corn, mac and cheese with real cheese - you get my drift. This restaurant is a bit off the 10 in Beaumont; use your GPS to get there and to stay in the correct lanes. (Tip: their parking entrance is the approach immediately to the west of their building. There isn't indoor seating: outdoor seating is around back (see pic) - a bit rustic but they had 2 wall fans going while we were there. The entire staff was very friendly and helped with all my questions. This is a true BBQ joint: I mean this in a good way, so if you're looking for national brand variety check out their menu before you come. For being a small restaurant they have a professionally created website, its worth checking out! Being new, I asked about their Corn Salad so they gave me a sample. Surprisingly it was very tasty and refreshing. It's a cold salad that's about 90% cooked corn kernels with a slight amount of house dressing (mayo based), a bit of heat to offset the sweet corn, cilantro, and diced onions. We shared the Brisket burnt ends with a side of baked beans with brisket. We had the small portions of what we ordered. Burnt ends aren't burnt: they are very smoked, caramelized and yet still very moist. You can see from my pic the BBQ bark: rich, savory, and very smoky. (For differing tastes, there was a fair amount of fat on these pieces - adds tons of flavor, super, super rich or you can cut it away.) You can see from my pic the Baked Beans weren't cooked beyond recognition. it appears to have red and black beans. You can also see the chunks of brisket with the beans. This also had a bit of kick. Very good. As you can see in my Pulled Pork pic, you get an ample amount of finely chopped meat. Our portion didn't have very much smoke, bark or flavor - by itself. However, it was quite moist and thoroughly mixed. But it worked super well with the various BBQ sauces. We had the Kansas City and the Carolina Fusion: both were representational of their respective styles. The Mac N Cheese side dish had real cheese - not the creamy fake stuff. The Cole Slaw was crisp and fresh and was lightly sauced: which is how we like it. They serve real food and we'd make the drive out to have it again. read more

This used to be one of my favorite take out places to get a delicious tri tip sandwich. Unfortunately, a sandwich is no longer on the menu. Now you have to get a drink. They don't have Mt.Dew, which is my only soda. You have to get a side now. The bbq beans don't have any meat in them anymore. The price went up to $26 for a sandwich combo. That's a to go meal for one person. Idk, if they changed owners because this place is not the same. The quality went down & the price went higher than Cheesecake Factory. That was my last visit. My wife & I went to corner stone, it's been a short while since we've been there & it is for the same reason as before, every time we come here the prices have gone up $3.00 to $4.00 on almost every item, Their regular Coors beer prices are $7.00 on their happy hour they are $5.00 that seems like the normal price of a regular beer at most bars, not a happy hour price & with their not so pleasant bar help who by the way tried to charge us their normal non-happy hour price of $7.00 per beer on their happy hour, But we caught that & made them correct the charge, I don't think we'll be back, unless some major changes are made & some price reductions are made, or at least not going up higher every time we go there. read more

This place is an absolute gem out in the small town of Beaumont. I highly recommend the beef brisket breakfast burrito. The burrito was humongous and the meat was tender and flavorful. I liked the large amount of sauce that this place had to offer. I went with the traditional original flavor and really enjoyed it. The service was nice and attentive. Was looking for a place to have some lunch and this little hole in the wall came up. I have to say that it did not disappoint me. I walked in and informed them that it was my first time eating here and they took the time to explain to me the menu and what they offered. I ordered the brisket sandwich the brisket was very moist and soft, it comes with Cole slaw on the sandwich or in the side. I ordered the coleslaw on the side and I ended up putting on the sandwich it was really good. The gentleman there suggested the ghost sauce and I have to say it was really delicious. He also let me try the habanero sauce which was good but I would recommend the ghost sauce. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese I have to say it had a lot of good flavor. Cornerstone BBQ is filled with heart and soul. I can taste the amount of effort that they put into the meat and the sides. The smoky flavor in the pulled pork and the way the sides were stand alone as great dishes are a testament to what I was saying earlier. So why not five stars? I just could not get over the price point--for a smash (cheese) burger combo it was $18.50---now that did come with a side of small fries and fountain drink but I felt like I was at the airport or tourist spot. Maybe In-n-Out has spoiled me at half that price with fresh fries and a drink---then you add on tax, 3% service charge, and 15% tip and you are looking at a total of $23.60 for that meal total out the door. Don't get me wrong, it was good and I even got the pulled pork plate with 2 sides of Mac n cheese and corn salad for $20.99 before the tax, service and tip charges. I do wish the amount of meat given was a bit more as you get a foil wrapped of meat in a smaller container with your two sides. The service was top tier and again the flavor was on point---and yet with all that I still could not get myself to the 5th star because I thought the price point was just a little higher than it should have been for what we got when you include all the charges in the end. IMHO instead of $23.60 out the door for that burger meal it would be competitive at $19 flat out the door. Well it is a mystery if I will return or not, mainly because I was here for a soccer tournament from out of town, but knowing all this I'm thinking it was good and maybe we will be back. There's not a whole lot in Beaumont but this bbq joint is pretty damn good. I think it's takeout only, we stopped by to grab dinner on our way to the hotel. We had the beef brisket, pulled pork and the beef ribs, plus the coleslaw, potato salad and the fries (get the large size or you will be duking it out w/your pals over the scraps). All of it was very tasty. This is big city quality food which I was not expecting to find in this neck of the woods. If ever I return to Beaumont, I'll definitely be back! read more
