I moved from Boston to Cohasset 4 years ago and this is the first I've been to the corner stop. Excellent food, awesome staff. Owner super nice and accommodating to our three young kids. Place is gorgeous inside. Awesome decor and so relaxing. One of my three year old twins said it was the best dinner she has ever had, which is out of character for her. They also have the best kids menu I've seen. 10 thumbs up for this family. You have to check it out! We will be back. read more

The atmosphere here is wonderful, with attentive staff and owners, and decor that makes you feel like you're in a very large living room. Love the hummus spread with the toasted baguette slices instead of basic bread and butter. The food is good, the Hippy Dippy Salad is really good, especially the dressing. It includes a lot more vegetables than a typical salad. I've been there twice, and recommend the chicken. (A foodie friend of mine always says you can test a restaurant by the way they make a basic chicken.) I can tell that the restaurant is still working into a settled routine, as any new restaurant would need to, but there is a lot of potential here. read more

I have too much to say about the Corner Stop, I dont know where to begin! I am used to fine dining and have gone to a fair share amount of highly rated restaurants in Boston and I only have great things to say about the Corner Stop! The atmosphere is amazing! It is so beautiful, open, airy, bright, and comfortable inside. The designs are so tastefully done, especially just sitting by the bar and fireplace for lunch! The food was DELICIOUS! Everything we ate from the edamame hummus and bread they give you to the appetizers and the meals was excellent. We started with the beet appetizer and the tomato soup that were both delicious! Then we had the Hippy Dippy Salad with chicken, the Cesar salad with chicken and the grilled chicken sandwich and all were phenomenal! I cannot wait to go back again! Visited the Corner Stop for my second time yesterday. My first visit we just had a drink and and appetizer. Our bartender was informative, attentive, and knowledgable. All the drinks were great, and the food was pretty solid as well although I have yet to try an actual entree. We had the oysters, roasted tomato soup, duck liver pate, heirloom tomato salad, and spicy wings. We had the tuna tartar previously and it wasn't very good so do yourself a favor and skip it. The corner stop probably has the best bar program in the area and there are no other restaurants that serve what I would call 'craft' cocktails, although they might advertise as such. Their bar program is good, yes, well designed and balanced craft cocktails but I'm not convinced their bartenders are top tier talent. They can make the drinks on the menu well but there is clearly a talent behind that menu and the bartenders are just a plug and play type of asset. Our bartender this time around made fine drinks but she was not very engaged and was a little short with us. read more

The Good: - clean, service was amazing (thank goodness) and friendly The bad :( This was my second visit and I think it only fair to write now after giving a second try.... We were sat at a high top table by the bar that was wobbly and awkward, the tables should have table clothes! The salt comes in an open dish and is just poured in there and you are supposed to use your fingers? Yes that is a question. I find that to be a health hazard. Our server claims they wash them in between each use but I am not sure I buy that. When you order a glass of wine they pour it from the bottle at the table and you get a 4 oz pour how do I know because I bartend and I asked. I find that very stingy! When I complained the owner let our server pour more as it was $9 per glass. The menu still has not improved! There is literally no theme. First visit we ordered the asian spicy wings and they were great, ordered them last night 01/09/13 and they tasted totally different. The worst thing a new place can do is be inconsistent. I ordered the salmon and asked for a sub for the fig hash and was told I would get brussel sprouts and it would still come with the kale and purple peruvian potatos and it did not! The salmon was served over a bed of brussel sprouts which caused the bottom of my salmon to get soft and "mushy" gross! The totally awesome server brought me my other sides but by that time I was all set. My husband ordered the scallops and risotto and for $25 you get 5 very small sea scallops! This is not Tosca!!! The risotto was dry and not creamy as it should be. How can this place charge that much for this dish! We went to DiNeros literally once a week for over 10 years literally for the sole purpose that it was consistent! They had a signature dish - the large shrimp. I cannot believe this place did not research the town, its people and its likes and dislikes for we are the ones that will either make or break your place! You are close to the beach and you have no raw fish, no shrimp cocktail, no seafood dishes! How do expect success. You need a theme! You need a better menu and you need to be consistent with your food. You lost a good patron in me as I will never be back nor will I reccomend to my friends! read more

First of all, I like this place. Now for my comments. This restaurant is different...not typical anything..but definitely something. Ate at the bar. Felt I was in a big, great room in a modern condo. I like modern but it was a little sparse. The menu was different too. I asked the bartender what the theme was and she said American. Ok, I thought, but with a twist. I ordered a glass of wine and the bartender brought over some crispy baguette slices with an edamame humus dip. Very nice but with a different slant. I ordered the short rib which came with grits, crispy halved Brussels sprouts and pomegranate seeds. Yes, American, but with pomegranate seeds and grits. Quite good, by the way, but could have used some of the sauce that the ribs were braised in for several hours as the grits and beef, although flavorful and tender, both dried out a little. My dinner partner was less impressed...thought there could have been a few more offerings on the menu. She finally settled on the Chicken Caesar (now that was pretty American) and thought the chicken was dry. The bar tender was great. Just moved down from Montreal. Very attentive and friendly! This restaurant is still pretty new as it just opened a few weeks ago. It will make some adjustments as it builds it's clientele. I expect that within 6 months, it will be much harder to find two seats at the bar. I will definitely go back...probably because it's American but different. read more

Really wanted to like this place after four different visits in the past year, I wont be back. If you just want a burger and a draft beer this is a pretty good one but almost everything else that folks in my party have ordered has been very uneven. I really wanted to like this place too as it seemed that it had a menu more in tune with places we go in the city rather than other local dining options. They just cant pull it off. Also the bartenders cannot make a drink to save their lives even though the cocktail list is pretty ambitious for Hull. My real issue is with the swarmy manager/owner guy. Our server asked how our meal was last time we were in and three out of four of us had major issues with what was on our plate. The Manager came over to talk to us and basically acted like we had no idea what we were talking about. My son who has is an accomplished chef/restauranteur in San Francisco was appalled. He then proceeded to go back to the bar where he was being handsy with the younger female bartender as they were closing down. Wont be getting my business again. read more

Every time I've had lunch here the service was great and so was the food. The quinoa burger is delicious! This is chef made, not a frozen factory burger. The atmosphere is upscale, too nice for me. I'm a casual dresser and it's more for the professional crowd. A heads up for afternoon diners: They have a lunch menu, a short after lunch/before dinner menu and a dinner menu. I got the burger, and asked for it to be cooked how the chef prefers it. It came out with some pink in it, and was very good and not overly compressed - as good as any burger that I have had outside of Ted's Montana grill or Shake Shack in DC. I asked for mustard and got a horseradish flavored version which I thought was amazing. I skipped fries and got the vegetable ratatouille. It came perfectly cooked, fresh, and not over-done. I did try one of my son's fries, and thought they were good. We had some beef Empanadas which were incredible. For desert I had the pumpkin bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. I got one all for myself, and it was really good - but too large for one person. I wished that I had shared it. The ice cream appeared to be of the super premium variety. The waiters were just the right level of attentiveness and able to answer my questions. I had been to this location before when it was something else, and it looks newly remodeled. I only wish I could forget my experience at Corner Stop. A Friday night bolognese was one of the worst dishes I ever had. I've been back to the Corner Stop a couple of times after I heard it had improved a lot over the past year. I've definitely changed my mind and really enjoy jumping into this place for a meal and a drink. The drinks are much improved. They muddle everything fresh at the bar for some nice cocktails. The cocktails are pretty strong, which I prefer. The food has improved as well. The hippy dippy salad is always good. My kids like the children's menu and the salmon is a big hit with them. The service is always good. They have a really nice staff. I love the bar area. If you have a choice, grab a seat in this room. read more

If you love thyme go for it. Otherwise skip. Way way too much thyme. I ordered the baked haddock. I couldn't taste anything but the thyme. The broccoli rabe was non existent. Kale and beans only and you couldn't taste those. The cod was a bit dry without the bean broth. Appetizers were awesome but given how heavy handed the thyme was and it's inclusion in most dishes I am reluctant to come back. Great for drinks and apps but if you're not into herby food skip it. What a shame.... My mantra is thus: "Your food can be just okay, but if you treat me great, I'll be back! I don't care if your food is great. You treat me less than that, and I will never be back." Such was my (and my friend's) experience dining last Saturday night. The bartender who was serving us disappeared. No one else ever checked in with us. Had to flag an expeditor down and a server from the floor for some additional attention. Got the manager's attention by walking across the restaurant to get him. Never saw him making the rounds or would have grabbed him to ask what the deal was. The manager apologized profusely and only when I asked to what end are you sorry did he choke out that he would comp the entrees. Still......if the service engine is that broken, that no one picks up the ball when dropped, I want nothing to do with this place. The swordfish I had was amazing and my friend loved her caesar with salmon. The bananas foster was a horrible excuse for the iconic dessert. read more

This is a really nice restaurant. Sit in the bar side of the restaurant. Very nicely decorated, comfortable place to eat and drink. Ate there yesterday for the first time and will be back often. The flavors all delicious. The multiple servers were attentive and friendly. The short rib empanadas we table shared were more like pastry - in a good way. A couple of small quibbles. The corn chowder was overpowered by bacon flavors. Some people like this but I prefer a more subtle bacon flavoring to allow the corn and chowder flavors to shine through. The shrimp tacos were very tasty but could have used another couple spoonfuls of shrimp. Quibbles aside I still really like this restaurant and it deserves the four stars. read more

The bad, so-so and suggestions: corner booth's seats aren't long enough to reach table, heat vent over table blasting overhead was uncomfortable and needs to be relocated, tables are unattractive (cover with tablecloths?), shrimp pasta was just okay, nothing special, the short rib was A short rib - one short rib (a bit dry) on polenta (fabulous) and a sea of brussel sprouts (good). Suggest at least two ribs and less sprouts. Again, ONE short rib? Made me laugh. Menu: we didn't think menu was lacking at all (as referenced in previous reviews). Would have liked to have seen a fresh oyster option. This restaurant has potential and we will try again in the future. read more

Each time I go back, I like this place more and more. The other night I had the most amazing appetizer. It was grilled shrimp over a gazpacho type base, served with a grilled avocado with goat cheese in it. Seriously, the most incredible combination of flavors I've had in a long time. I like how they change the menu with the seasons. My husband had the best drink there. I can't remember what it was called but it had "Hull" in the name. It was basically a Margarita with blood orange juice. Absolutely delicious. I had the flight of 3 Rose's which was really fun and different. We live in the best possible area for fresh, delicious seafood, and they serve Hake for their fish sandwich? Actually the only fish on the menu was hake and salmon. Reminds me of my relative's restaurant in Colorado having skate on his menu because they don't know any better. We are not that stupid. Used to be Dineros where my family went often for Easter supper. Stopped by there this past Easter to have mimosas with friends. Mimosas were good, also had clam cakes, which were outstanding and well-presented. We sat in the bar area on the couches next to the fireplace. I love the new decor and new england feel. Menu wasn't very easter-y, but had some interesting choices. Would definitely go again to try other things on the menu. read more

We only live a mile up the street so we were anxious for this new restaurant to open. We liked the food at DiNeros, but not the tacky decor. We have visited Corner Stop twice and have gotten take-out once. The chicken is very good and I love their hippy dippy salad....dressing is delicious (get it on the side). My son got a burger and it looked delicious. Portion sizes are good. Menu is limited, but I assume they will add as they go. We are "bar people" so we sat at the bar both times and found the bar staff friendly and attentive, although I had to walk them through how to make a St Germaine cocktail twice...but they were happy to do it. There is a nice vibe and I like the colors and overall look, BUT (and this opinion was shared by a few others we were talking with at the bar....) they have to do something about the acoustics. Seriously, the bar area is large with a very high ceiling and hardwood floors and it's really noisy, which is my only complaint. I would love to see this restaurant do well. The owners seem like nice people and it's so convenient....please see what you can do about the sound issue (area rugs?). Good luck! read more

We don't live in the area, but we're told this place would be a great stop for delicious food. We hosted a Fathers Day Brunch after our son's wedding in Cohasset. Food was absolutely delicious!!!! The flatbreads are an absolute must! The decor is beautiful, warm, inviting and very comfortable. Worked with Liz the manager & found her so accommodating and very helpful to make our event special. We went to the Corner Stop for an early dinner and I surprised that we were the only table in the dining room. I was told later by friends, the bar area is usually more crowded. Our server was friendly and our food was so good! I got the Hippy Dippy salad while my husband got the Steak Burger. What really impressed us was the quality of little man's meal off the kid's menu. He got the pizza, veggies and apples and the freshness/quality of his meal was amazing. Little man loved his meal and we will be back soon. read more

First experience was only fair. Food we were served was medium warm. My wife had the Shrimp Putanesca which was described on menu as shrimp with penne. She was served fusilli instead of penne. The pasta was not hot. I had the steak, which they sliced and it was only medium warm. We also had tomato soup which was not hot. No bread or rolls were offered with our meal. We are not hurrying back. But we will try it again in a few months. The entree menu is way too limited. Does not compare with the old "With Richards' which was a weekly favorite of ours for years. They spent a lot of money remodeling and the place is beautiful. But you have to serve good hot food to be successful. read more

Another AWESOME dinner at the corner stop. Great waiter who was super friendly and new the menu well. Got the local seasonal salad which was excellent, and the Lobster BLTA. I highly recommend the lobster BLTA, huge chunks of lobster meat, bacon cooked perfect and slabs of avocado, hope they keep this one on the menu for a while! The best part of the corner stop is you get the quality without the stuffy vibe. Its casual and kid friendly too...We bring our two year old here and he is picky, even he loves it...5 star, keep it up. read more

Friday night 7pm, just after the $1 oysters end. The oysters we did order were cold but dark gray and tasteless. Not worth $2.75 ea. Busy night at Corner Stop bar area. Fun vibe! Great looking, large bar with plenty of seating; definitely would meet friends there for drinks and a flatbread or salad. The entrees are really not that good. When server asked how is everything, I told her the rice is cold, the cod is dried out and tiny portion. She cheerfully apologized and moved on.
