Hubby and I finally got a chance to try this place out (since we don't get to Lodi all that often). It was certainly worth seeking it out. They offered 3 housemade soups on this cold, foggy day - corn chowder, split pea and bean with ham. I had the split pea, hubs had the bean soup. Both were thick and delicious - clearly made from scratch. Soups were served with a couple of pieces of french bagette and the split pea came with clearly house made herb croutons. It was all yummy! They also have a variety of sandwiches and hand pies. We are going to have to find a reason to go to Lodi just so we can go back to this little spot. They offer a nice variety of teas, coffee drinks and other options if tea/coffee isn't your jam. The variety of baked goods was almost overwhelming. I say almost because we (of course) had to get a number of items so we could try almost everything (even knowing that we wouldn't be able to eat them all. In our to go box we have a dark chocolate brownie, a pumpklin cream cheese muffin, a maple bacon scone, a pecan shortbread and we ate the still warm from the oven peanut butter cookie before we left the parking lot. It was soft, chewy and full of flavor. Looks like they offer whole pies too - saw nutmeg peach on the blackboard but will have to try it on the next trip. The prices are reasonable, the quality is outstanding and the workers friendly and helpful. It is a tiny place, but well laid out and clean. Corner scone has great food and coffee, but their organization and customer service is some of the worse I've seen. Although times have been especially hard due to COVID-19, they're system for ordering and pickup is awful. This isn't the first time we've had a long wait for a order placed days in advance. Today is Mother's Day and they ran a pre-order special for baskets with tea, scones, etc. My wife placed her order on Tuesday, they got back to her on Friday and completed the order, asking her when she would like to pick up. My wife told them 9:15 on Sunday. We arrived on Sunday morning to find a line of about 20-25 cars down the street, parking lot, and blocking traffic. Assuming our order was ready, my wife went up to the door to ask and the woman was short and curt with her response saying everyone was here for Mother's Day and to get in line. We waited over an hour to simply pick up our order that was already placed and paid for. Absolutely unacceptable. This isn't the first time we've had issues with pre-orders as well. My in-laws has placed orders for quiche for a bridal shower well in advance and scheduled a very specific pickup time. They had to wait 20 mins past their scheduled time which made the food nearly late to the shower. Although these are difficult times, as a business you need to adapt and innovate so you have a functioning business that can properly serve customers. Owner/management need to seriously re-evaluate your current service system and make some very needed changes. Your organization and logistics are awful. We drove over an hour to get there and enjoy homemade hot right out of the oven chicken pot pies. But after seeing all the other baked goodies we HAD to buy some scones and shortbread for tomorrow (or maybe later tonight if we can't resist). Five stars isn't a high enough rating for the deliciousness and love that Terri and Tara put into their baked daily baked goods. The pot pies had an amazing crust, were FULL of cubes of chicken and vegetables. No sloppy filler gravy. Satisfying, tasty, and pretty much "guiltless". I wanted to try everything they had. We will definitely make the trip again soon to enjoy some other treats. Please please please give this little bakery a try. When COVID is over I want to go with girlfriends to their Hidden Tea Room. I have been following Corner Scone Bakery on Instagram for approximately 6 months and was very excited to place a Mother's Day order for a unique Mother's Day gift. When I placed the order the Friday of Mother's Day weekend, I was asked what time I would like to pick up my order and I said 10am on Saturday morning. My husband and I arrived at 10am sharp on that Saturday and I got out to stand in line since I had pre ordered. Long story short, I stood in line approximately 20 minutes before anyone asked me about my order and my Husband and I did not get our pre-ordered items until one hour after we arrived, at 11 am. The owner/manager gave us 2 free scones, which were super delicious and ALMOST made up for the ridiculous amount of time we waited for our pre-ordered items. This was the first time we had ever been to Corner Scone. Some feedback about my observations the hour I waited. They were severely understaffed and unorganized, and not very friendly on top of that. I watched as what appeared to be "regulars" walk up to order scones and coffee and to be served before everyone waiting in line for pre-orders. One male staff walked around looking flustered and made comments like, "I'm just a volunteer." There was no method to how pre-orders were being handled. There was a line of cars and I stood and watched as cars came and went while me and several other ladies continued to stand and wait. I was waiting on my 2 sugar cookie flower pots and 2 gift baskets. All of which were finished as we could observe the happenings from the window. Over and over someone would start to wrap the items with cellophane and then walk away to help another customer who wanted a cup of coffee. It was extremely frustrating. Also, disappointingly enough, the cake pops in both of the pots slid down off their sticks and broke and some cookies fell off the stick as well. I had to present a broken gift to my loved ones which was super embarrassing to say the least. The only reason I would consider going back is because the scones were delicious, but it probably won't be for awhile because the time management and customer service was horrible. read more

I ordered a beautiful basket for my mother last year for Mother's Day and it was so well put together. Their sugar cookies are the best I've ever had. Everything is really good. The shortbread is. Utterly, scone is fluffy and not too sweet. Cappuccino is perfect, not too hot. Price for the pastries is just right. Paid $3.50 for an 8 ounce cappuccino, so that's kind of on the expensive side. There was an animal hair on my cappuccino lid. Then I saw dogs inside. I love dogs but when there are patrons dining in, animals need to be kept outside unless they're service animals. read more

This was a great spot for a sweet pick me up. I personally loved their savory items. The pesto cinnamon roll, the bacon cheddar whole pie and the turkey pesto turnover were our favorites. The cookies weren't anything incredible but their brownie and apple turnover really hit the spot. Their lattes we're good but I didn't necessarily love the coffee they used. Walked in a few weeks ago on a Thursday after walking through one of the owners many other businesses . I was looking to get a coffee and a sweet treat. When I walked in I got a shout from the girl Behind the counter it would be a few minutes before she could help me as she was grinding coffee for tomorrow??! And another girl Was spraying some sort of cleaner all over items on a shelf on the wall . So o decided to Pursue the treats in the case ... after a few minutes of being ignored the coffee grinding said just a little while Longer ... my cue to walk out ... meanwhile owner Teri was in the back boasting to another lady how busy they always are and close at 1 now because they sell out .. side note it was 12:30 I was only customer and the case was completely full . My spouse and I stopped in to have lunch recently and were pleasantly surprised. The menu for lunch is fairly small but that's not always a bad thing especially since it's sometimes difficult to decide what I want to try. I went with the Italian Wedding soup and a veggie wrap and my spouse had Split Pea soup with a BLT wrap. I liked my soup a lot but I found the split pea soup to be very peppery. My spouse loved it because he really loves pepper. My veggie wrap was delicious but my spouse's was on the dry side. We ended up asking for a side of mayo and were charged an extra 25 cents. He said the extra mayo made it great. Overall we were happy with our lunch. The prices and portions were good. Although, I found it off putting that they charged for mayo. Not a big deal though. The dining area is very small inside with a single table outside but it didn't feel too crowded when we sat down to eat which was great. We had our baby with us and we felt very comfortable with her there. Sadly, we did not try any pastries on this trip but they all looked amazing. We will definitely be back to try them. My friend used to work here that is how I discovered the place. The first time I tried the scones I was blown away. I've never been a fan of Scones because they were too dry or hard. These are moist and fluffy. I returned for the Scones despite my 25 mile commute. They are that good. I've been a frequent customer since January 2020. I liked all their products so much that I bundle up and share with others. I've converted, recruited and invited a few people to this location. I'm a fan of the owners too. They are truly passionate about their products, presentation and service. They are a family and they make you feel like part of it. They have expanded to multiple locations, all just as wonderful. They have the Hidden Tea Room, The Urban Barnes, etc. The sky is the limit for this Mother/Daughter partnership. Okay. So we FINALLY made it in to this little piece of heaven. It all started out with a morning craving for a good cinnamon roll. What we found was Corner Scone Bakery and oh how I wish I never had for the sake of my waist line. The atmosphere is ethereally dressed in white capturing my romantic side in turn making me want to spend the rest of my day there eating and drinking. The young woman who served us was friendly and helpful. Now for the food. The cherry turnover was still warm with light and flaky crust topped with sugar crystals but not overly sweet. It was fresh and nearly perfect. The cinnamon rolls were fresh and perfect in texture and sweetness. Personally a little more cinnamon would make them perfect. Oh and the pumpkin scone... Amazing! I cannot wait to try the rest of the menu of which included breakfast pies and fresh quiches. This little shop stole my heart. read more

If you like a scone that doesn't taste like a sugar covered brick, this is your stop. The baked goods are exceptional. We appreciate a very nice assortment of everything you might look for in a boutique bakery like this. The quality and taste of their product represents the attractive presentation, immediately in view upon arrival. We enjoyed some scones (perfect) and a slice of quiche. We have also been here for lunch to enjoy their various soup offerings. Their fresh fruit pies looks very good too (better than the local roadside farms, gouging unassuming [wine tour] tourists $20/each for their "fresh" apple pies!). Sitting under an umbrella on a lazy Saturday morning would be by first choice. Indoor seating is pleasant, and the friendly staff don't get too up into your business. Sitting outside, watching the cars and people roll by, is surprisingly enjoyable. The surrounding area is safe, but not the most attractive. It is my hope that this establishment will drive up foot traffic and business in the vicinity, which is badly needed. Overall, these folks are doing an excellent job. While the cafe is small, they provide both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff that work there are very friendly and helpful with recommending eats. I came early hoping for the "Friday gluten free scones" I read about in other reviews, but they told me they only make them if you pre-order. The girl at the counter was pretty uncommunicative and seemed uninterested in helping me find something to eat. I asked if they perhaps had some other gluten free options and she quickly said no. Not sure why I persisted, but I asked her to check and make sure. There was no one in line behind me, so I didn't feel like that was too much to ask. She reluctantly walked five feet over to the other side of this very tiny Cafe and asked a woman who was bringing out trays of beautiful looking bakery. The answer was, yes, they were baking some GF cookies right now, they'd be out of the oven in about 20 minutes. I decided to have a coffee and wait. As I waited, the place became absolutely packed with people (around 9 am). Thought I'd wait till the line died down and then get a cookie. Unfortunately, the crowd just got bigger and then I had to leave for an appointment. So I have no idea how good the GF items are. But I do think the staff could be a little friendlier. read more

Yesterday was my first time visiting Corner Scone. I enjoyed delicious Dill Chicken Salad on a Multigrain Croissant and an iced Coconut Green Tea, which was perfect for a warm early-fall day. The Shabby Chic palette of the decor and the ambient music worked well, and the staff was prompt and friendly. I couldn't have asked for more and will be back soon. Highly recommended! read more

I came in here for the first time to meet a friend and I had brought my daughter. The girl at the counter took my order of food and drinks. She was even telling me all about the high tea, which sounded like fun. Then my daughter had to use the bathroom.... Since your establishment does not let customers use your bathroom I had to walk around the shopping center you were in begging people to let us use their restroom. Went went to the nail salon, thrift store, restaurant, etc nearby. Nobody would let us use the bathroom! So I went back into your shop to inform the girl to keep all the items we had ordered because we would be leaving. At this point my little girl is almost in tears, she had just got over a bladder infection. I asked the girl working there "where do you expect people who attend your lengthy high tea to go to the bathroom". Her response "Oh they're allowed to use our bathroom". Boo read more

I love this place! The employees are always very friendly and the food and coffee/espresso quality is great. It's fairly close to my house so I go there often and I've never been anything other than pleased. I did literally LOL at the review that said not to be scared of the location - I suppose it is off a fairly sketchy looking stretch of Lockeford but the neighborhood itself is really safe and quiet and it's not too far from downtown. My only complaint is that they don't open early enough for me to visit before work. Definitely recommend. read more
