This little restaurant contains historic features dating back to the 1800's! Very cool little place. The food is fresh and delicious. Everyone was super friendly and sweet. Had lunch on our visit. Four cheese panini with chips and a pickle. I also got a side of the BLT macaroni salad. The sandwich was perfectly crispy with ooey gooey cheese inside. The BLT Mac salad was so good! I could have eaten a huge bowl of it. The peach iced tea was perfection. For desert, we had an apricot hand pie, lemon cookie and chocolate crinkle cookie. All 3 were amazing. We are new to the area and found this cafe for a Saturday lunch, zero regrets! This place is on a cute street of locally owned businesses. They had outdoor seating so our dog could join us for the meal. When you go in, order at the counter, grab your own drinks and have a seat with your number. Pretty simple. I had the Pimento cheese BLT with chips and sweet tea. My wife had the Greek chicken salad with water. My sandwich was perfect and so good. The portion was just right. The salad was huge! I suggest sharing it or getting the half portion. It was very fresh and delicious. The line to order inside was getting to the door as we were leaving, popular place. I am obsessed with this place. When I was little, my parents would always take me there to get their old fashioned sodas when we were driving from our hometown of Temple to where they were from in North Texas. It has a real old timey soda fountain! They will make the sodas right in front of you! The last time we drove through, it was lunchtime and I decided to treat my daughter to the magic of this place. I had their lunch special, which was baked chicken with potato and it was unbelievably delicious. My daughter had a grilled cheese with fresh fruit. It was just perfect and the fruit was really fresh. Then, we decided to try some of their baked goods as well as get our own handmade sodas. We sat up at the soda fountain bar to see them at work. She got a root beer float and I got a float made with orange soda - it tasted just like a dream sicle. Also, everyone who worked there was over the top friendly and super sweet. Sometimes in small towns, you know they know you aren't from there and are a little standoffish. but this was not the case here. All of the workers were so kind. Husband and I ate lunch here in Clifton. The building was the old drug store in town. I had a fabulous chicken salad sandwich on yummy wheat bread. Came with a large pickle slice and a bag of kettle fried chips. My husband had a French dip sandwich. He wolfed it down. It also came with a pickle and chips. There were no crumbs on our plates! You order at the counter, get a number and find a table. Our food came out quickly. Everyone was very nice. Bathrooms were spotless. Highly recommend! read more

The latte was great too and I sampled the biscuit (fluffy and great) plus the strawberry jam must be homemade! We explored around downtown Clifton and stumbled upon this little cafe. Quaint little spot that reminds you of a little diner. We were parched so we stopped to get a drink. They have all types of floats and old fashioned sodas as well as meals. We settled for a coke float and an old fashion rootbeer float. This place continues to surpass my expectations. They have a daily special of a common comfort food dish, some of which I liked growing up and others I didn't. Without fail, this place has made me fall in love with dishes I didn't think I liked. For example, I don't like turkey. I've never liked it, especially around Thanksgiving because the meat is always dry with a chalky texture. This year, we went to their Thanksgiving lunch and wow, I didn't know turkey could be so flavorful, moist and tasty! (They brined it overnight and then cooked it). The staff there is so friendly, and creates an atmosphere of a small community cafe. They have regulars from Clifton and then folks from out of town. It's hard for people to go into the cafe and not see someone they know - especially if they're from Clifton. Recently, they've also put in a soda bar too. This cafe has taken a special place in my heart, for good food, good atmosphere and good folks.
