    Sandwich Menu

Great service and best sandwiches in Bosque County. The owner is wonderful and the environment is clean and updated. Make sure to try the loaded fries.

We visited on opening day and the service was fast and friendly. Cozy renovated bank in downtown Clifton and delicious sandwiches on fresh-baked bread! The raspberry cheesecake tart and chocolate mint cupcake were also to die for. Ample parking. A lovely addition to downtown! Also, I just noticed Yelp thinks I'm the business owner. I'm not, I'm just the first to add and review them.

Awesome eatery tucked away in downtown Clifton. The owners are the sweetest, the deserts are wonderful, and the wrangler is a must try!

An absolute MUST STOP along I-35 and now my second visit to West, Texas (not West Texas, which is…read morecompletely different). I've been to the other one and now I am here. And while the other one is great and fabulous, this one is one star better. A huge selection of baked goods, coffee, decor, clothing, drinks and more. The Kissing Pig Cafe has so many food options, too! Mrs. K. has not had a kolache in years and she's now pescatarian which presents certain challenges. It would be awesome if they had some kolaches with just cheese or were sweet, so while I had one with ham and cheese and one with sausage in cheese, she was at least able to enjoy a strawberry and cream danish as well as the always awesome poppyseed kolache. It's possible that a pecan square was purchased for later consumption, too. The self-serve coffee was great and we enjoyed all of this inside at a comfortable table. And after that, more shopping. So much great stuff to choose from here and very, very clean restrooms. If you're overwhelmed by that massive baked goods counter, just ask for recommendations. They'll get you sorted for sure! Excellent selection of kolaches and klobasneky. You can also buy sandwiches. Minus: as on previous visits, I have found that they are often out of poppyseed and prune kolaches. Not the servers' fault but you would think management would be keen to bake more of what sells most. Then there are the sandwiches. If you want pork, you'll get value. But if you want brisket, look out! I've never seen a more miserly portion offered for 13 dollars. I understand that brisket is expensive now. But I still get it at various restaurants and have to say that it was a five dollar sandwich for thirteen bucks. Additionally, the sandwich maker apparently does not know what and order for "moist" brisket means. Mine proved rather dry.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in and directed to choose a table of our preference. The waitress quickly came over and grabbed our drink order while we looked at the menu. We placed our order and the waitress was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. She also informed us they work as a team so we can stop anyone when/if we need something. We started with the "Burning Bush" appetizer (crispy Brussel sprouts w/ lemon garlic aioli). YUM! They had just the right bite to them, and the glaze on them paired with the aioli was delicious! For our entrees we had the Golden Calf Burger w/ sweet potato fries and sriracha aioli and The Weight of Glory Sandwich w/ broccoli slaw. They were both incredibly flavorful and fresh! You can tell they locally source their ingredients and prepare them onsite. The portions are also plentiful, and we left with a takeout box. To round off lunch we tried the special mousse on the specials board (coffee flavored cheesecake mousse). It was so delightful we dug in before I could snap a pic. Just enough coffee flavor paired with chocolate sauce (not hersheys ). The big windows allow for a lot of natural light and lends to a welcoming and warm environment. We will for sure be back and bring others!

My uncle had the Rueben with chips, aunt had the club with chips and my mother had the BLT with chips. Everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. After we ate 3 of us ordered the peach cobbler with one scoop of vanilla ice cream and the other ordered the black berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The cobbler was fantastic. The service was good our waitress was very nice and even though they were busy our order came fairly quickly. The Cafe is an old mid to early 1900's repurposed gas station. Once you walk inside the cafe now has book shelves along the walls and register area. You are free to grab a book and read it while you are there. There is also a garden area outside you are free to sit at and eat/read. It being Texas and all you will probably avoid it in the hot months. We ended up here because most of the restaurants were closed. We were there on a Wednesday. I walled into one of the shops and asked were they recommend we grab lunch and was told the Storiebook would be a good choice. I would definitely recommend.
