I was told Corner Bistro had one of if not the best burger in NYC and stopped by around 11PM on a very busy Saturday night to give it a try. Half the joint is a classic bar with beers on tap and the other half has some diner style booths that can accommodate parties up to 6-7 fairly comfortably. I had a large party and waited about 20 minutes in the bar area before being seated. It is cash only Cheeseburger (3/5): It's a pub style burger with a THICK patty and while it looks amazing, I found it to be really bland. Everyone who claims this is an amazing burger had to have been drunk, but even then, there's not enough sodium imo for that. Fries were solid - thick cut, a little crunchy with Heinz ketchup, exactly what you would expect. TLDR - vibes are fun, but food is just okay.

Cuisine: 6 Service: 6 Decor: 7 Value: 6 Overall: 6 Old stomping ground from college. My friends and I use to come here regularly for a burger, fries, and some drinks. This use to be such a magical place. Unfortunately, I am no spring chicken anymore. Instead of a late night outing with buddies, I swung by for brunch since it was nearby my doctor's office after my annual exam. Lol. Just like the old days, no paper menu, just look above the bar for the menu. My mind was made up before I came in, so I simply ordered my usual cheeseburger and tater tots. Unfortunately, the cheeseburger was rather small in size and lacked flavor, nothing like what I remember. There was not much of a char off the grill, but the biggest problem was under seasoning. Some salt and pepper would have really helped. Lastly, my medium rare cheeseburger was cooked alright, but the meat blend was slightly mushy rather than crumbly. The tater tots were crispy and crunchy, not greasy at all. These were great. Sadly, it's not enough to make me come back anytime soon. I will leave this spot in memory lane from now on.

Unfortunately a little underwhelming for me. Maybe if I had my own burger/wasn't split in half but it just was an ok burger. Needed more salt. Fries were pretty solid tho, pretty crispy. Definitely need to eat this whole next time.

Corner Bistro is a NYC staple, a solid no-frills burger joint. Opt for the Bistro Burger, which comes with cheese and bacon, and order a side of fries to share. The burger is juicy, perfectly seasoned, and easily one of the best in the city. Service is attentive and friendly. If you're craving a great burger, this is your spot, a must-try!

if you want a casual dinner with an epic burger - this is your spot. food is literally served on paper plates but the burger is insanely juicy. almost too big to fit your mouth around so it definitely gets messy but that's the fun of it! fries are pretty average. this place is popular and gets busy so expect a wait sometimes. i went on a sunday at 5pm with a group of 8 and we had no issue getting a table in the back.

Finally made my way to the infamous burger spot. It is cash only. Theres an ATM inside and a Chase bank like 2 blocks away. They are an old establishment with a lot of character. Sat outside. Nice service. Ironically an older woman walks by my table and says "most overrated burger." hmmm i get her point after having - its a chunky patty and puny bun. All the fixings on top. It didn't kiss my soul like I wanted it to. One thing I did like was the Corner Bistro lager, they serve it in an almost frozen glass. yum! That is the only way drafts should be served.

A popular bar with a limited food menu in the West Village. Limited food menu but what we ordered were delicious. Service was decent.

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug... CB used to be my go to spot for a cold beer and a good burger on a budget. I haven't been back in a long time, since I moved out of the city and headed out west due to my career. So. I was naturally pumped to hit it up again after being away for so long. I waded past the finance bros and tourists (were they always here?) to find a seat (miraculously) at the bar. My nostalgia mission complete, I looked up at the menu board... Gone are the days of the $3-$5 beer and a burger under $10. I get it. Times change. Inflation rises. Post-COVID reality bites. All that jazz. Besides, I recalled the Bistro Burger fondly as a brick laced with cheese and bacon--so it's still gonna be worth it, right? Wrong. Looks like the days where they apparently season the burgers and broil it effectively are also gone: Burger ($16.95) came out tepid and bland. Had to add salt and pepper to it (even with the bacon and cheese adding some flavor). Tots ($6) were perfectly fine. Washed it down with a Stella ($8 for about 10-12 oz). Memory is a funny thing, and nostalgia keeps this a fond place for me. Was the burger always this bland? Maybe? But it served a purpose at the time, and many of my friends and I had more than a few late nights here, before the TikTok-ification of the place and food tourism fever dreams kicked in (Oh my God! Anthony Bourdain ate here!) Is it worth it now? Not really. Maybe my memory will bring me back again someday. Maybe.

    Rare cheeseburgers, Tots and fries!

I was here last Friday. I don't know why Yelp says it's closed. This place is tinyyyyy. You can only sit at the tables if you're ordering food. So my friends and I had to stand around the door until seats opened up at the bar. It's cash only but they have an ATM issue. They had Downeast cider on tap (my favorite) so I was happy about that. Corner Bistro is a place I've heard of but I never went out of my way to come. Now I can say I've been if they really are closing soon.

Dropped by before going over to cubbyhole on a Friday night and had to scout a waiter and luckily we got a table right away! Ordered a Jami and coke that came quick and it was on the real weaker side. Almost every time I've ordered one anywhere you can almost feel it go through your veins lol. We halved their bistro burger (medium well) and it was thick, juicy and tasted really good! Fries were fresh and crispy. Sorry to say, we were both surprised at how yummy it was with it being a dive bar. We'd definitely make our way to bistro burger if you're needing a quick bite before going out/ pre gaming The only con was the bathroom had no tissues, kinda smelly and floor was wet

    Can you make a reservation?

I don't think so. It's basically a bar with great burgers. You can call to ask, though. The number is 212-242-9502.

It says there are vegan options but in the reviews it clearly says "stay home if you're a vegan" or order pickles (LOL). Are there vegan options and if so what are they?

    Eggs, fries, avocado toast.

It has easily earned a spot as one of my favorite bars of all time. The underground space flawlessly captures a raw, seedy, 1980s rock 'n' roll vibe, with eclectic decor that extends beautifully to the themed menus and custom glassware. Sitting at the bar was a highlight--the bartenders were fantastic, clearly proud of their craft, and they even humorously indulged my game of trying to guess the ingredients of each drink they mixed. The cocktail lineup is phenomenal. A few absolute highlights: the Purple Rain with its purple ice and peppercorn, the flambéed Dirty Dancing, a brilliant espresso martini riff called Flick The Bean, and Pure Temptation--which has glassware you just have to see for yourself. You need a password (easy to find online), and you go through a hidden door down a staircase. But it feels more like a novelty than anything else. NYC has way more iconic speakeasies, so this isn't somewhere I'd go out of my way for more than once. Nothing wrong with the vibe--it's Times Square, so you already know what you're getting--but it's definitely a one-and-done kind of spot. The drinks are good and super fun, but they're very extra (smoke, presentation, all that), so between that and how packed it gets, it can take a while just to get one cocktail. Didn't try the food. Overall, go for the pics and TikToks--it's perfect for that. I'd recommend checking it out once, but I don't really see it being a repeat spot.
