Ordered it medium, and it came out perfectly cooked: a juicy, well-seasoned patty topped with mushrooms, melted cheese, crispy bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the combination of textures was on point. Easily one of the best burgers I've had in a while and an absolute must-order, it will not disappoint! The Tots were just as impressive, perfectly crisped on the outside, loaded with bacon, and full of flavor. The perfect side to pair with the burger and honestly could stand on their own. Added the House Salad for some balance, and it was a great choice. Fresh, flavorful, and a good portion size that added some volume to the meal without taking away from the main dishes. Service was excellent, fast, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire visit. I've been coming to Corner Bistro for about 30 + years.. and it's a good burger.. But just IMO they've changed a bit.. Back in the days they had a better flavor.. The fries too.. Not sure what changed.. But in any case I still go there and treat myself to a cheeseburger and Fries every so often.. I enjoyed it.. Service was good as usual. And as far as ambiance it's a basic burger/bar joint in the west village.. Nothing super fancy.. I was there at 3:30pm so it wasn't too busy. No loud music blasting which I didn't mind.. But it gets busy from about 5pm on through the night. There will be a line to wait for seats. I was told Corner Bistro had one of if not the best burger in NYC and stopped by around 11PM on a very busy Saturday night to give it a try. Half the joint is a classic bar with beers on tap and the other half has some diner style booths that can accommodate parties up to 6-7 fairly comfortably. I had a large party and waited about 20 minutes in the bar area before being seated. It is cash only Cheeseburger (3/5): It's a pub style burger with a THICK patty and while it looks amazing, I found it to be really bland. Everyone who claims this is an amazing burger had to have been drunk, but even then, there's not enough sodium imo for that. Fries were solid - thick cut, a little crunchy with Heinz ketchup, exactly what you would expect. TLDR - vibes are fun, but food is just okay. read more

Unfortunately, the cheeseburger was rather small in size and lacked flavor, nothing like what I remember. There was not much of a char off the grill, but the biggest problem was under seasoning. Some salt and pepper would have really helped. Lastly, my medium rare cheeseburger was cooked alright, but the meat blend was slightly mushy rather than crumbly. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug... CB used to be my go to spot for a cold beer and a good burger on a budget. I haven't been back in a long time, since I moved out of the city and headed out west due to my career. So. I was naturally pumped to hit it up again after being away for so long. I waded past the finance bros and tourists (were they always here?) to find a seat (miraculously) at the bar. My nostalgia mission complete, I looked up at the menu board... Gone are the days of the $3-$5 beer and a burger under $10. I get it. Times change. Inflation rises. Post-COVID reality bites. All that jazz. Besides, I recalled the Bistro Burger fondly as a brick laced with cheese and bacon--so it's still gonna be worth it, right? Wrong. Looks like the days where they apparently season the burgers and broil it effectively are also gone: Burger ($16.95) came out tepid and bland. Had to add salt and pepper to it (even with the bacon and cheese adding some flavor). Tots ($6) were perfectly fine. Washed it down with a Stella ($8 for about 10-12 oz). Memory is a funny thing, and nostalgia keeps this a fond place for me. Was the burger always this bland? Maybe? But it served a purpose at the time, and many of my friends and I had more than a few late nights here, before the TikTok-ification of the place and food tourism fever dreams kicked in (Oh my God! They have been featured on tik tok a few times so I decided to take the trek over from SOHO for a thick classic burger. The burger is huge with all the toppings stacked. Corner bistro is more of a sports bar feel with a few tables in the back for diners. I came at a good time so I got seated immediately. Service was prompt and efficient and I felt accommodated. In terms of the burger it's not a very seasoned burger but when I added salt and my typical condiments it was good. It was very messy though and hard to eat and my burger fell apart, I'm also pregnant so halfway through nausea hit me and I couldn't finish it. I asked for medium and i got a little more of a rare burger. Did upset my stomach a little. Also had a big raw onion which i wasn't a fan of. I feel like this spot was gold maybe ten years ago. Now it just doesn't make sense. The bar was a cheap spot to grab a bite and a drink with decent ambiance of an old school pub real New Yorker vibe to it with amazing burgers that were super affordable. Of course they upped the ante and now the bistro burger will run you almost $16. And this comes on a very small paper plate with plastic utensils only if you request them. Fries not included. The burger I will say is tasty. It was churned out alarmingly fast. Literally 3 minutes or less after ordering so it makes me wonder how fresh they make these when they're a little packed. The bun fell apart completely a few bites in. It was a huge sized beef patty but honestly the bacon was the best part of the burger. I probably would have been satisfied with their regular cheeseburger because the bistro doesn't make the cut or any cut of best burgers in the city. Maybe ten years ago. But I guess I waited too long to jump on it and check them out. My boyfriend ordered the chicken sandwich and there was more tomato and lettuce on his sandwich than actual chicken. It looked like a paltry slice and worse than dare I even say subway. It's served on a hamburger bun and costs close to $14 for tomato and lettuce, no sauce. We were with a third friend that also wasn't impressed with the burger for it's pricing and split some tots and fries for the table. The tots were weirdly the best part. Drinks will run you $8 which is around average but they are served in smaller beer mugs. I think another thing that hit a sour note with me was that I noticed a sign outside the bar with their menu and specials offered. It said that if you order a brunch burger you can get a brunch cocktail with it for about $20 total. I was tempted to do it especially since the sign said from 12pm-4pm and it was 3pm but our server told us that that deal is only good for 12pm. So many discrepancies. Enjoyed this cute pub. What stood out the most here was the service. The gentleman behind the bar was excellent so polite, friendly, and attentive. He had some really good energy and I enjoyed his spirit. Came here for a quick bite with a girlfriend of mine and it didn't disappoint. Iced tea was so sweet we couldn't drink it (we weren't charged for it.) Also they're sneaky. Hamburger is 12.75, fries 6.50 so 19.25 for both. Brunch burger with fries is 24.95 so 5.70 more for a sunnyside egg, a few slices of avocado, one slice of melted American cheese & two dry bacon strips as the additions. They don't say the Brunch Burger is really a bacon egg cheeseburger. Dry fries too. Honestly I don't get the fascination with this place at all other than the decor & atmosphere.
