The staff there are super polite and extremely honest. They were up front about the cost options if everything went according to plan, then also gave the option if things didn't go according to plan. Afterwards, the owner showed me the parts they were replaced and explained what the issue was. You can't go wrong with an honest mechanic and this is the place for that as well as reasonable prices. Would highly recommend Corliss Auto repair. Was driving from San Diego to Louisville KY when my AC went out in the middle of New Mexico. Was recommended to come here by a local and it did not disappoint. The people there were super nice and were able to get my car in ASAP. They gave me a complete rundown of the costs, ordered the part and fixed my car, and then got it back to me in less then 12 hours. Brad and his crew replaced the engine in my truck. Did a great job and did not take that long to do once an engine was found. Had a few minor issues that popped up after driving for a week or so and he took care of them (free for the issues related to the engine and install, inexpensive for the things not related). Only gripe is the exhaust manifold gasket was not replaced and should have been so I have a tick I need to bring it back for. Overall I am happy and will continue to use him as needed and refer others to him. read more

I am so happy to find a shop that I feel care about being honest and efficient. I drove in with a concern and although they were unable to fit me in that day the mechanic took a moment to check it out right then, found the prob in a couple minutes and determined my engine could blow if I drove much more. Seeing the urgency in that he offered to find the part and replaced it in minutes later that day. Just as important the price was more than fair. It saddens me to have to write this negative review. I have had my truck repaired at Corliss auto twice in the past and was completely satisfied. This morning was a totally different story. This morning my son and I took his truck to Corliss auto because it was running bad and the check engine was on. This problem has been going on for several days. My son is tired of spending money on parts that are not fixing the problem. I suggested that he take it to Corliss auto. This morning we took it there and the minute we walked in the door everything went downhill. We walked in and some lady asked if she could help us. My son said that he needed to drop his truck off so they could repair it. The lady asked what the symptoms were and he told her. She responded by asking if he had been there before. He said no. She asked who recommended him to them and he stated that I had. Then she said that they work by appointment and that she was going to be on vacation next week. We told her that we had replaced the throttle body and crank sensor and that it was still having the same problem. She did grab her scan tool and went to the truck to pull the codes from it. She asked where we had purchased the crank sensor. We told her the auto parts store. She said to put a Dodge sensor in it and see if it repairs the problem. The moment we walked in and started speaking to this lady we were made to feel that we were beneath her and that we should feel honored to be in her shop. And I do not see what her being there or not has to do with my son's truck being repaired. I really doubt that she is going to be out there in a dress ( as she was today ) working on vehicles. I have recommended people to visit Corliss auto based on my personal experience. It won't happen again. I spent over 30 years working at General Motors dealerships and there is always a givin in the car business. You make a customer happy and they may tell a few people but you make a customer mad and they will tell everyone. read more
