I was pleasantly surprised to find that you can customize or order from the house recipes. I ordered two house recipes for my first try: Powdered Sugar and Cold Brew. Here's the kicker: The donuts were warm, and warm enough to melt the powdered sugar! Bonus: The donuts are so good that even the next day when I had the Cold Brew it was still excellent! Note these are cake only (as far as I could tell), but there are gluten free and vegan options. The website pictures don't really do the selections justice. They have a large staff, yet nobody ever wants to approach the counter or receive orders. All the employees are super rude, ignore customers even during slow times, and when you finally actually do get helped, it ends up not even being worth the time or effort because the donuts are so below the average bar. This might vary from person to person because we all have different opinions/tastes, but being that this is a small, local donut shop in a small town, everyone pretty much knows about it, and the consensus among the locals is the same as my own experience. The donuts are never fresh, they have lots of flies buzzing around the shop that also like to partake in eating your donuts. I don't like going into a place that has the same exact donuts in the display case for days without being refreshed, and on top of that, seeing flies constantly land on them and walk around in the surface of them all day, every time I've been here. Small shop with a lot out in front, and you are greeted with a wall of sugar when you walk in. Service is always friendly and helpful. They have a standard rotation of donuts but sometime there are some special ones. The donuts are this soft pillowy texture on the inside and just the smallest amount of bite on the outside. The icing can be a little overly sweet (if you're sensitive to that sort of thing) depending on the flavor but I've found that the passion fruit is always a solid choice. Super cool that Junction City of all places has joined the food truck revolution. The donut truck…read morestops here in Velkommen Square along with some other, more permanent food truck fellows. Locals donuts makes a glazed donut as their standard, and then they have a special donut weekly. They also have pretzels that they sell out of the truck. I haven't had one other plain glazed donuts, but they had a marionberry Bavarian cream a few weeks ago that was absolutely out of this world. One of the best donuts I've ever had; the cream was amazing. Their prices aren't bad, even for the fancy donuts, but especially for their simply glazed ones. The Junction City stop is Saturday each week. Check their Instagram for hours and specials.
