This tops the shittiest, yet the Priciest Indian restaurant I have come across in Denver CO. We emptied our pockets for nothing but a bland food. The chef was clearly missing his Heart and tongue while making these dishes. We ordered 4 different curries and expected all of them to taste differently, and I guess that's too much to ask for. And there's a thing called Tongue in chef's and owner's mouth, doesn't hurt to use it every once in a while before the food is brought to the tables. Another stop on the pass book tour was this excellent Indian restaurant. I took my girlfriend here for Valentines dinner and although they did have a special menu and deal for the day. We chose to select from the regular menu. Opting for the traditional tika and butter chicken entrees they were both spiced perfectly and I suggest adding the naan bread too! Second time having delivery from Coriander, and they were solid yet again. I LOVE their lamb vindaloo the most because it is so spicy and flavorful. We also ordered chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, saag paneer, garlic naan, cheese naan, both kinds of wings (tamarind are the best of the two), and chili chicken. Can't forget your side of mint chutney! This was our first time doing the chili chicken and it did not disappoint! We will be adding that to our usual order. I'm surprised that this place is rated as high as it is. While the food isn't bad, there are so many other better Indian or Nepalese restaurants that are 10-20 minutes away. The service was also not great. Our server appeared to be more interested in getting us out of the restaurant than actually serving us. read more

I'm giving 4 stars on food alone. Our service was sub-par. They took forever to take every order of ours (drinks, food, had to ask for he check). The food and one glass of wine also took quite awhile, which food I understand but a glass of wine? When there are literally 3 other tables? That is frustrating to me. A fly landed in my wine and they gave me another (fuller) glass so it worked out. The food was delicious. I had the staple tiki I masala and I thought it was spot on, along with plain naan. My biggest complaint is the size of our dish wasn't very big for 14$, but that might be more of an Indian Restaurant issue and less of a Coriander issue. I want as much food as I can for 14$! We just moved to this area about 8 weeks ago. We were bummed because we were certain it would be hard to find good Indian food this East of downtown. Well happily we are 100% wrong. We tried this restaurant in the first two weeks we lived here. Their food is some of the best Indian in denver. They use so much fresh ingredients. You can taste it. Our favs are: onion naan, all of their vegetarian dishes are delish but especially Alu Gobi and Chana Masala, and Tandoori Shrimp. Seriously I highly recommend this restaurant. A co-worker suggested this place for an after-work dinner, and I was so pleased. I ordered the regular naan, and the chicken tikka masala. It was delicious. One of my biggest complaints is that the ratio of rice to chicken is always off at Indian restaurants, but not here! I had more than enough rice for my delicious saucy entree. Right now I gotta say this place sucks. We were seated and the wait begins. They seated someone else near us and the waiter was friendly to them, brought water and took their order , just like that. Funny thing, he got ready to leave that table, saw me look at him and he walked away. What the fudgesicle? So, yes, I complained. Got a half hearted apology. I knew I should have held out for a salad or a hot dog at Northfield but my other found something on the menu. The young lady that took our order and brought us water and soft drinks seemed a bit embarrassed about what I told her. She was ok. The food came fast. The good:My eggplant ($13) dish was tastey. I was truly surprised to be honest. The saffron rice was good. The bad: The lack of service from the beginning. Also, my other half had an inedible grilled shrimp dish ($16). He said the shrimp was rubbery. Not sure if was old shrimp or under cooked, but he didn't want to risk getting sick so he pushed it away. I don't eat meat so I have to go by his experience. The rice he felt was too dry. Pricey for what you're served. Total $44.00 not including tip. Overall I rate this place 2 star ONLY because of the young lady that served us otherwise I would give it a Zero ( 1 star is actually the lowest you can give). Nothing special there Both the butter chicken and baigan makhani were underwhelming Overall the food was disappointing and decor too was just ok. The only redeeming point were the wait staff. Just had to give these guys a proper shout out. Anything this pandemic throws their way, they face it head on and power through. Many restaurants closed because they were not able to be creative, to adapt and find ways to make their restaurants thrive. Not only did our Coriander succeed, they have now climbed up to #29 in the top 50 Denver restaurants on Yelp! Very much deserved. It upsets me to have to write this but the importance of allergies being taken seriously is beyond important not just for my child, myself but many many others that look to my reviews for confirmation that a place is safe. I've heard great things about this restaurant. Tonight we had a showing on our home and decided to enjoy a place (semi) close to home (aka 40 min). I did my due diligence and spoke over the phone to a manager before we traveled. We were assured of vegan, gluten free & dairy free options. We chose the pappadum for my youngest (dairy allergic & vegetarian) and myself. We enjoyed the cilantro sauce a lot. When the chicken wings came my hubby asked for me if they were also dairy free. She said yes. But then she said "but not the chicken tikka." Which my oldest son had ordered. I said "oh no they asked for me" (which I told her I needed gf/df). Then she said "oh well that (aka the cilantro sauce with the pappdum) has a tiny bit of dairy". What??? The menu said vegan and gluten free. Why would you serve a sauce with a vegan and gf item if it didn't fit that criteria???? People can die from being exposed to an allergen. Our daughter has a prescribed epi-pen. I feel it's my responsibility to share this info. It's scary this can still happen in this day and age. We got free pappadum and 10% off which wasn't what we expected. We didn't ask for it. Wow, what amazing flavors of India! We love Indian food but have to drive out to get the good stuff. We're so happy to get a great place like this to the neighborhood (GVR). We've ordered take-out a couple times after we found out they were finally open. The Chai is almost as good as I make at home. My wife and I enjoyed it very much while waiting for our order with the Indian music playing in the background. It's a great atmosphere and can't wait to eat there ;-) The Coriander Naan is stuffed with serrano pepper, garlic, and fresh coriander. That sounded different so I wanted to try it... OMG Aye Caliente! They are not kidding about stuffed with serrano, every bite had some bits of serrano pepper. If you like it hot, this is for you. After a few bites I switched to the regular naan to save my taste buds for the rest of the wonderful dishes. Ye have been warned. The Coconut Shrimp appetizer was so good that every last drop of the Korma with coconut sauce was devoured and had us wanting more. I love a good Dal and the Makhni did not disappoint. Dal Makhni is one of my favorite dishes so I'll be ordering this one a lot. My wife's fav dish is of course the Chicken Tikka Masala like many others, so we tried that first to get a baseline. The Masala is milder than I prefer but perfect for my wifey and quite tasty. Some places over-crank the heat so milder but tastier is preferred and Coriander pulls it off well. We next tried Lamb in both Korma and Curry. Both sauces where flavorful. The Lamb was more tender and juicy in the Korma compared to the Curry where it was a little on the dry side but we'll get them both again. All the food so far has been as wifey says "amazingly delicious" and we can't wait to try the rest. Update 5/3/2018 ~ They've only been open a week and ordered take-out twice for the above. We decided to come in for dinner after a tough day. Tried and loved the Achari Wings which were tender, juicy and full of flavor with the pickle spices. The Tandoori Shrimp were fantastic, especially with a splash of lime and a side of Masala because that's how we roll B-) We finished the meal off with Kulfi for dessert which hit the spot with yummi pistachios on top.
