My little girl's bottom central incisors erupted when she was around 3-4 months old and while the recommendation was to visit a pediatric dentist at the first sighting of teeth, I ended up waiting until my daughter was around 8 months old. Dr. Kao's office isn't open every single day of the week, but I do appreciate that, as of the writing of this review, she makes herself available on one Saturday a month in addition to the Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays that she's regularly open. It was easy to contact the office via the online submission form on the website and I received a call within 24 hours. We were able to get an appointment not too long after I called and it fit perfectly with my work schedule. The office is so calm and Dr. Kao and her staff also exude confidence and kindness as well. Because it was our first visit, Dr. Kao shared her philosophy of prevention instead of invasive corrective procedures, especially on such young patients. My daughter was not a happy camper because of the new environment and experience, but Dr. Kao was able to balance getting her check-up done while not spending a moment longer than necessary because my daughter was crying. We left with toothpaste and a cute tooth brush, and we could have had a balloon, but I opted out of it because my daughter was on her way to daycare. I'm already looking forward to our next appointment!

Mind you I was charged extra because it was a "periodontal cleaning". I have insurance which is supposed to cover cleaning and X-Rays, still I paid over 200 out of pocked. The office was easy to find, beautifully designed, and had a peaceful, calming atmosphere -- perfect for parents and little ones alike. Our newborn son had a severe lip and tongue tie, and we were nervous. Dr. Yazdi took the time to thoroughly explain the condition, using clear examples so we could truly understand what was going on and what our options were. He never rushed us or tried to push a decision -- instead, he gave us the time and space to decide what felt right for our family. We decided to move forward with the laser procedure, which took less than two minutes. Dr. Yazdi walked us through every step, made sure our son was comfortable, and carefully explained the recovery process. He even called us personally afterward to check in and ensure we had everything we needed to support our son's healing. It's rare to find a doctor who combines such expertise with genuine compassion, but Dr. Yazdi truly does. You can tell he loves what he does and deeply cares for his patients and their families. The entire team are absolute sweethearts and made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. What we got was a sales pitch for same-day lip tie and tongue tie surgeries. I didn't think that the doctor really listened or cared about the details of our or our child's experience. He took a couple photos and talked a lot. He threw around lots of unfamiliar medical terms and then gave patronizing analogies to explain the conclusion we should be coming to. The facility was clean and the people were friendly, but you should only come here if you've already decided to have the procedure done. It's hard to know who to trust because I've read online that lactation consultants get a kickback for referring patients to get this procedure (I cannot confirm myself). As feedback for the office, I would suggest sending something more professional than the buzzfeed style "55 reasons to get this surgery" blog post ahead of the initial visit; this was a red flag for me. You can also consider a more consultative approach but you might make less money.
