No more expensive than Culver's or what I get at Penn Station. I looked through the menu and ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl and a side of sweet potatoes, just because it sounded good. I was feeling under the weather, and in need of some warm and spicy broth to soothe my throat so I was grateful to see that there was a Corelife located along our drive back home to Indianapolis. We very quickly ordered our main to order Thai spicy noodle soup along with a veggie wrap and enjoyed both. The prices are reasonable and it's nice to have a quick option filled with vegetables. I also noticed that they have a variety of smoothies now on the menu although I didn't get to try any this time. Note that you can change which meats and broth go with the bowls and build it as your own down the line. The staff was fairly friendly, and seemed to know what they were doing. My only complaint was at the high chairs were pretty gross, and we ended up cleaning them ourselves before using. Otherwise, a positive and straightforward experience. read more

I am usually the biggest fan of CoreLife. Healthy and delicious. Unfortunately had a terrible experience today. Ordered a Korean BBQ pork bowl and noticed the employee had no clue how to make it. Eventually she found it on the cheat sheet and started putting tiny pinches of toppings into the bowl. I ordered the large because I enjoy eating it for dinner and eating the rest for lunch the next day. This "large" bowl wouldn't have even weighed up to a usual regular size bowl. After finishing up with the rice and veggies, she started adding the pork. The pork container was obviously empty while she fished around for tiny strands of pork to add. The pork was about half the portion as usual which was on par with the rest of the bowl. I've never ordered a CoreLife bowl where the contents don't touch the lid while closed. This bowl had a consistent 2 inch gap between the food and lid. CoreLife is on the pricier side of the fast food experiences out there, but it's usually always worth it. Today, my $14 bowl was NOT worth it. Obviously the two kids running the place were very new so I don't blame them but still disappointed. The Bowl of Bowls!! I stopped into Corelife while in the SouthBend area. I had completed a gruelling workout at Crossfit South Bend and I was famished. I walked in off the street and from the outside, it didn't look like anything special but once you walk in you are inundated by the colours and the motivational mottos already subliminally planting the idea that this is a healthy place to eat. Let me warn you, for the first-timer, check out the menu online first to grasp the concept. Once you walk in and it's time to order, you may be a little intimidated by the vast selections. Luckily, it was just after the dinner rush and the staff took their time, helped me pick a few items, and I was very surprised how my bowl turned out. I just happened to hit all my macros and micros, I had lean proteins, fibres, veggies and kept things relatively low carb. My meal turned out to be quite the feast and was delicious. This place is the best! I can always count on CoreLife for a healthy, hearty, and fulfilling meal. The classic Kale Caesar is a favorite. Also, I'd like to address their speed of service. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the line, and then they make your food in front of you, so really, you hardly have to wait at all. Got no bread, no avacado, very little chicken and carrots and peppers. This was a $20 + salad which with all the missing ingredients was not worth any where close to that. The second part of the pick two was Mac and cheese with the buffalo chicken. The Mac and cheese was a mushy mess. Tasted like it had been reheated several times. It was disgusting. Been coming to the Mishawaka location consistently for about as long as they've been open, and, while the food quality has consistently been high, it's clear that the majority of the other aspects of the environment need work. That breaks my heart to say, given how much I DO enjoy the options they offer, but it's hard to overlook almost everything else. The biggest issue is portion control. To put it bluntly, even if you're ordering a large bowl, the amount any employee will fill it with will vary like crazy. I've seen these a third of the way full, a half, and, only very rarely, unfortunately, entirely full. This seems a little wild to me, personally, because the food on offer is incredibly expensive. 20 dollars (tip included) for a meal that potentially will not fill you up is a tough pill to swallow. If I discuss the restaurant with coworkers or friends who are looking to grab a meal, this will almost always be the crux of any opposing argument. It's just too inconsistent. My advice? Absolutely never order through the app. Order in person, and make sure you ask for more ingredients if you see the bowl getting pretty meager portions. The meal is expensive. Make sure you're getting your money's worth. The second aspect, and I KNOW this factors into the first, is that the employees are completely indifferent about the ordering process. There's no energy, no value to the process, and no real interaction between the person making the food and the person putting it together. I'm not entirely sure where the issue lies, but most of the time there's this level of apathy about the line ordering that is just BEYOND standard fast food. I don't know what they take home, per hour, but I can't imagine it's enough. I've almost never seen anyone there more than once, just as an observation. Ultimately though, I think CoreLife shoot themselves in the foot. They have really solid food, but wild inconsistencies in its delivery, and I'm fairly confident that comes down to the fact that the people preparing it just aren't interested in meeting any particular standard. That sounds harsh, and maybe it IS, but they set themselves a fairly high bar and under-deliver consistently. If they can standardize their ingredient amounts, and bring up their customer service standards, no doubt they'll be in fantastic shape, but as it stands, myself and almost everyone I know will just end up looking elsewhere for healthier alternatives. It's just not worth it to open up your wallet and roll the dice. read more

When in town, I visited with a friend. It's a pleasant, clean environment. We were served quickly and found seating easily even though there was quite a large line. I have been trying to eat clean, so having non-processed food options was great! I chose grilled chicken, quinoa and sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes were the best I've ever had. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they don't serve pop, but there are a lot of tea and lemonade options. My friend enjoyed her lunch, also. I explained to the manager that the money was taken from My account as I visually showed her my bank account (transaction list). The manager rebuttled by stating that the transaction timed out and that the account will reflect. I explained to the manager that the money was immediately deducted and that I was not going to pay for the food twice. The manager then refused to refund the moneys because she said that the transaction timed out and that it didn't charge me. Pretty solid first outing here- the menu seems somewhat overwhelming but is essentially "salad," "leafy green grain bowls," "rice base dishes," "broth/soups," and "other." -- I got one of what the employee called a 'curated' option (aka straight off the menu, not build-your own), the bacon bleu steak green bowl, and it was pretty lovely, with well balanced flavor. I added a half avocado (for as much as I can buy two at the store, but hey whatev) and it melded the flavors even better, fully recommend. The drink selection was interesting, nice little tasting cups to try and multiple flavors but in the end, it's mostly just sugary flavored lemonades, a hibiscus-like flavored green tea, and iced coffee. I think the difficulty here for most folks will be the small portions of proteins and premium toppings like bacon or cheese (even when included, they were maybe 2.5oz, 1oz, and 1oz in my salad, respectively), though the overall salad (with the avocado for that filling healthy fat) did satisfy for a solid lunch. But those ADD ONs all come with a cost if not already in your selection and it is not cheap! Be aware when you're ordering! My salad + avocado and drink set me back $14 and change with tax. Definitely not an everyday stop, but I like the options here when I don't want to bathe in greasy fried coating or ranch dressing. read more

I asked for some recommendations and there choices were great. When I got to the end of the counter I took all the free spices that they had to offer. I took the chicken home for my dogs. The restraunt was very clean with very little clean up needed. Just a table that needed to be wiped off and a napkin on the ground but that was all I noticed. As I was writing this review a lady came out and cleaned off the table and picked up the napkin of the floor.l as well as other cleaning she did. As I was eating I noticed that the employees were cleaning the drink machines and counters which is nice to see. I feel more comfortable eating at a clean restraunt. It is very very rare for panda not to finish a dish but she didn't eat half of it. The tofu ginger sriracha salad left much to be desired. The tofu was sparse and very very burnt (tasted like hard tater tots) and the bean sprouts were slimy. Overall pretty gross. I then returned to the store, explained the situation and was offered a refund for the bowl containing the insect. I explained that both bowls were the same and that the second bowl also contained insect-contaminated food as they were composed from the same ingredients, one of which contained an insect . The worker called the manager and the manager said they could not refund the second bowl which also contained contaminated food. Walking in to the spacious, clean-cut, modern-themed lobby simply makes you feel healthier! The visual and audio atmosphere reverberate with green themes and organic tones. (Kinda reminds me that I belong in Red Robin, but that's a different story!) There are menu boards behind the half-wall which is where you're supposed to go to get in line to order. This was a bit confusing on our first visit, but after being curtly directed by the employees up front, we figured it out! (We tried to simply walk up to the front to look at the menu, but they don't like you standing around apparently!) The salads are alright, the broth bowls and soups are a no, but the poke and protein bowls are generally pretty good. I liked the cobb salad, though unless you like your lettuce drowned in dressing, ask for it on the side! The soups/broth bowls look amazing, but are pretty watery and surprisingly bland. All the folks who went with the protein bowls were the only ones who seemed satisfied. Expect over-priced food, but at least it gives the illusion of being an investment in your health! They do cater to different diet restrictions which is a plus, and as long as you don't mind hard seats, they've got booths and tables to accommodate small to large parties.
