Panera Bread - No Bacon on the BLT - Sandwiches Near Me - Mishawaka, Indiana

I recently stopped here along my drive back to Illinois for a bite to eat. This place was pretty large and convenient to stop at. This place had plenty of parking though I didn't like how One of the entrances were basically cutting right through the drive thru. Restrooms were a little bit subpar. It's recommended that you order off the touch screen tablet. They have a menu above when you first enter but those prices do not match what you pay for in the touch screen kiosk. The food was pretty good though I ordered a BLT. The chips were also not too bad either. Dining it was a pretty casual experience but this place is pretty busy. read more

Don't bother! Not sure why I keep coming back thinking this location will improve. They are always severely understaffed, which results in dirty tables, long wait times, and low stock. I've always loved Panera, but this location needs some help. Try the one on Ireland Rd instead read more

Good bagels with egg and cheese, coffee, excellent bear claws. Nice way to start the morning.

Food is ok. Ordered a pecan braid. And coffee The coffee station was out of coffee Only one cashier on duty resulting in long waits to place your order. The kiosk take too long to use and are not set up for quick orders read more

The workers didn't seem to know what was going on much. They were busy, but kind. The food was okay. My sandwich was good, but my mother's was burned and lousy on the fixings. I got broccoli and cheddar soup that had the consistency of water. The cookies were delicious though. I'd recommend going for the bakery and skipping the food. The restaurant was busy and laid out a bit odd. You have to go all the way to the other side of the restaurant to get your food and walk back to your table. And if you forgot anything, all the way back you go. Get your steps in though read more

I ordered from the kiosk a rather large order and expected it to take awhile, and after sitting around for 40 minutes i ask if my order was being prepared and it never went through from the kiosk. i was offered to order again but by then i decided to leave. and after checking my bank an hour or so after i see that i was still charged. employees and manager was very polite but still dissatisfied and disappointed in what happened. read more

I placed my CARRYOUT order through the Panera app. When I went up to the building to go in to pick up my order, the door was locked and no signage explaining what they expected me to do. I got back in my car and called. They ended up bringing my order out. I was completely grossed out by the dirty dish water that they claimed was their Ginger Plum Tea. It didn't even taste remotely like the Ginger plum. I have ordered this at this location multiple times and EVERY time this is what I get. I have complained multiple times as well. Why can't they fix this?! Wouldn't they want to??? So disgusting. Next I went through the drive through because I HAD to get a different drink. When I told the gal working he drive through about the tea, she told me that a new drink would be $2 something!! She was going to make me pay for a new drink!!! What in the world?! I talked to a manager and they begrudgingly gave me a new one. This store needs better management and people who care about quality! read more

We order 2 sandwiches on the app and it said they would be ready at 6:25. We get to the parking lot and get an update that they are not ready. We wait 10 minutes and nothing. We tried to cancel the order and we couldn't do it from the app. Finally at 6:38 they are ready. Then our order wasn't even right. They should have a way to cancel an order which is probably why they make you ore pay. read more

We were over in the South Bend area at my daughters apartment and we stopped in at this Panera Bread to get a bite to eat. Now in these days of the pandemic, getting a bite to eat is not as easy as it sounds - but this place has it down. We drove through the drive up and placed our order, moved on up, and were greeted by a masked employee who took our payment. We appreciated the fact that the employees take the pandemic seriously. The food was the usual very good and the whole transaction was seamless. Would visit here again in a minute. Don't know about the eat in, but the drive through is perfect. Recommended. read more

The food was just OK, not great but we wanted the usual sourdough bread with our salad and soup. All they offered was chips; who wants chips with salad and soup. This has happened several times and I won't be back to try it again. Bread is in their name; if they cannot have the bread to go with a salad or soup, why go back for just mediocre food. They had other bread on the shelves and could have offered a piece but NO... This is just poor management and it has cost them at least one customer. read more

I wish I could give it zero stars.. I waited a little more than 15 minutes at the drive-through to be told they have a big order and will be another few minutes. I have a small order I wonder how long that would've taken them to do. They were pleasant about saying they were too busy to wait on me but the service there has always been indifferent to the point of being rude. Panera bread always has,I believe, plenty of nutritious options and def. would be a better choice than going to a "fast food" joint. HOWEVER the cost to portion is crazy. I went there twice in the last 2 weeks because I had gotten gift cards for Christmas. Both times I got the you pick 2. The first time I got a cup of chicken rice soup and half a thai chicken salad. I was HANGRY still with it costing $10+. I figured today I would get a heartier combo by doing a bowl instead of a cup of turkey chili and a half chipotle chicken sandwich. Costing $11+ I was so sad looking at my plate. The "half" sandwich was about the size of my fist. (You can compare the size to the small apple I got for my side) I could gave eaten 4 of these in order to be full. I would have had to shell out $20 in order to be satisfied. And quite frankly, if I want to shell out that much for meal I rather go somewhere nicer and order a steak meal. It is really sad because I do think flavors are good (hence the reason I gave 3 stars instead of 2) and I was delighted with the creativeness of putting chickpeas and edamame in the turkey chili. However when I pay $10+ for a soup and salad or soup and sandwich I expect to be full and not having to go back home and eat more food which sadly I did both times I came. read more

Thought they might have just had an off night until I looked at the reviews and realized it was business as usual. 25 minutes to get three You Pick Two Meals at 7:20 PM seems a little long based on the lack of a line or crowd. Two of the soups were outright cold when we finally got them. My salad which was ordered without onions had onions and a good sized chicken bone. Passed the guy I assume was the manager three times going back to get a soup spoon and microwave the soup and he didn't seem to be that interested in making it right. Poor Leadership Is Not Hard To Recognize I apologize in advance as the will be lengthy but I want to share all of the details. Making my first stop at this restaurant in about a year, the first thing I realized was that the amount of customers in the restaurant was very far less than I had been accustomed to seeing at just after 7 in the morning. The next was that the smiling-faced individual (Marie) I had grown accustomed to greeting me when entering the door was no longer at her post behind the pastry counter. Though I was greeted in a rather friendly manner by what I assume to be her replacement. The once large selection of bagels had been reduced to just a hand full of options. With the assistance of the smiling young lady behind the counter, I managed to pick out two dozen bagels and proceeded to making my pastry selections. My eyes then gazed upon perhaps the most appealing food item in the whole place, fresh baked cinnamon rolls. I promptly added 4 of the rolls to my order, as well as 2 of the tasty looking bear claws. Just as my smiling attendant is processing my credit card payment, another employee comes from out of nowhere and grabs the pan of cinnamon rolls. She speaks authoritatively at my attendant, in manner I'm sure was also designed to catch my attention, that all of these rolls are sold. She states to my attendant that she had just received a phone order which required cinnamon rolls and that "even these 6 rolls" won't fill their entire request. As my attendant now stands shocked, I exclaim that I had already paid for 4 of them. Now, as I become aware that in fact this is the store manager in charge (Christine), I again challenged Christine to the fact that I'm physically standing in her store and had already paid for the rolls. She did not offer apologies or even hesitate for one second. She made it clear she was not going to reconsider and walked away. In hind sight, this is the point at which I should have asked for a full refund and walked out. I'm sure most would have. Quite frankly, I was too stunned by her actions to react in that manner. I retreated to fill my coffee cup and wait for the attendant to complete my order. In fact, I was so stunned once handed my bagel boxes and additional bag of pastries and proceeded to exit the restaurant, I left my un-drank coffee sitting on the counter. While leaving, I couldn't help but notice the help wanted sign in the parking lot. As a leader in a customer service business myself, I couldn't help but think to myself the damage this type of "manager" had to be having on this restaurants business. I pictured the stunned attendant which was trying to help me that particular morning and what message she had received. I again realized that my long time attendant Marie was not at her post and wondered if it was due to poor leadership. Add to it, the very weathered help wanted sign in the parking lot. Who would want to work for Christine? Sorry, but this is not the end of the story. Once I arrive at work and begin to share the bagels and pastries I had purchased, I quickly discover that none of the remaining pastries were in the bag I was given. Just what I wanted to have to deal with. I reviewed the receipt and called the restaurant to inform them of the shortage. Just my luck, Christine answered the phone. I shared with Christine that to my disappointment after the entire earlier experience I had driven 25 minutes to work just to discover this shortage. Without ANY other comments, Christine firmly stated that she could not provide me with a refund over the phone. Again, she had caught me completely off guard. I paused for a brief second and to her dismay, this time had to share with her a quick customer service lesson. I told her that from all of my experience, her reply to me should have begun with some type of apology. I had not received one from her neither at the restaurant nor on the telephone. I let her know that I felt this was a demonstration of poor leadership in my opinion. I followed by stating that I would be returning to the restaurant at 6pm this evening and would fully expect no issue with receiving an issue for my shortage. We are all dealing with employee staffing issues and product shortages. This was neither of those. This was quite simply poor management and leadership and I suspect this business is in trouble. Rest assured that these are things visible on the surface and when dealing with food preparation, what you don't see can kill you. I'm not taking that chance, I won't be back ever. Goodbye Christine. read more

Usually don't eat here often as food tends to be rather over priced for what you get, but child's school was having a fundraiser event at the location. Placed online togo order at 5:30 pm to be ready by 6:00 pm. Arrived 5 minutes prior to pick-up time and waited for 15 minutes. At that time I saw my name was 7th on the preparing list. i would leave a negative rating if the system allowed. We used to come to this location frequently. Haven't been for a while until yesterday. They have gone DOWNHILL terribly. I purchase the same salad 2-3 times a week, and consistency on portion is always an issue. Tonight however was the most disappointing. I got home to discover they had given me what appeared to be a half portion and not a whole. Definitely not $11 salad worthy. They were closed and too late to deal with the issue. The creamy broccoli cheddar soup is a must order considering it is full of veggies and flavor. Napa chicken salad sandwich is one of my favorites bc of the smooth taste of chicken salad with an almond crunch. Another delectable sandwich is the tomato and mozzarella flatbread. I typically visit this Panera at least once a month. The new self-order stations really speed up the line and your food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. I always order broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl with either the french baguette or chips - delicious! Especially on a cold winter day! There are plenty of options for small groups as well as larger groups. The restaurant doesn't mind if you pull tables together so the place is very accommodating. Restrooms and overall atmosphere are clean and tidy. Catering: I've ordered catering from here for groups 40-60 and have never experienced any problems. Panera is a step up from pizza or subway, and they do a great job with their boxed lunches! Price-wise, they are a tad on the higher end for soups/sandwiches, but I find they do a consistent job which makes it worthwhile. read more
