Servers are still quick, pleasant, & attentive. The food is still very good. What brings my rating…read moredown from 5 to 4 stars is the wait to be seated. First, there really is no seating while waiting for a table. Second, the hostess underestimated our wait time. We were told 20 minutes when it actually took 45 minutes. To be fair, I don't entirely blame her. When I mentioned how long we had been waiting, she apologized for being understaffed. EVERY PLACE seems to have the same problem so I get it. But what the real issue may be for Ridgewood Kitchen is an ability to be even semi-accurate in how long it will take a table to turn over. There were three elderly couples seated at a table when we arrived. They had clearly finished their meals & were conversing. They did so for another hour & forty-five minutes! How can a restaurant deal with that?!? Ridgewood Kitchen is still a great choice for food & table service. Just be aware the wait time for a table may be considerably longer than quoted.

Unfortunately, that was not my experience with "Sage Karma Kitchen". We showed up there for a quick dinner. The room was maybe 25% full. Plenty of room for seating. The hostess thought it was a great idea to sit us directly in the scorching sun rather than every other table in the room that would have been shaded... oh well. Our waitress showed up to take our order before we had a chance to even pick up the menus. We asked for just a couple minutes and she cheerfully walked away. Seemingly, never to return. I looked all around for her until I found her leaning on the bar talking to friends. We finally placed our orders, somewhat begrudgingly. My wife had a bowl that she definitely enjoyed very much. She said she would like to return to try it again. I struggled to find anything on the menu that sounded remotely interesting and finally just ordered the hummus appetizer. I fear they left the flavor in the kitchen. It certainly never arrived at my table. When we were ready to leave I had to begin the search once more for our waitress. She was nowhere to be found. I couldn't even enlist the aid of the hostess because she had found a group of her own friends to talk with. Finally, I found our waitress and was able to escape. The two stars is only because my wife enjoyed her bowl. For me... naaa! Too bad. No second chance here.

BJs We have been regular customers of BJs Brewhouse for…read moreyears and have always had a good experience .... until tonight and I can now confidently say we will never return. We had 6:30 reservations for 4 on a Friday night. Seems like a reasonable time for dinner where you could expect a restaurant to have adequate food and glassware ... doesn't seem to be setting the bar too high. i guess those expectations were unrealistic. Once we were seated, the waitress continually tried to hard sell us on appetizers even though we showed no interest. After asking if we had ever been there before and despite being told we had and were actually Premier Rewards PLUS members, she insisted on giving us a speech on the fact that it was a brew house and then describing several beers before even asking us what we wanted to drink. We ordered two beers on special and were told they might be out of that beer so we gave a second choice in the event they were out. She returned with the second choice and when we asked if they were out of the special, she said she forgot to ask about that one. Another member of our party ordered a 22 oz beer. She returned a few minutes later and said that the BREWHOUSE was out of 22 oz glasses and they were currently in the dishwasher ... no offer to bring a different size - just a notice that we would have to wait for the glass to be cleaned. After our friend said he didn't want a warm beer from a glass just coming out of the dishwasher, the waitress finally relented and agreed to serve him a 16 ounce beer. A fourth member of our party ordered a mixed drink and was told that drink could not be made because they didn't have all the ingredients. The waiter then told us that they were out of the Friday special prime rib - at 6:30. One of us asked about the French dip sandwich - she said that they had three left so she'd need to put the order in right away. We declined - opting not to take the last scraps of beef they scraped up to make a last sandwich. We ordered and asked for two more glasses of water - we already had two ... she returned and said that they were out of water glasses and we would have to wait. By the way - there were empty tables. The restaurant was not full so the lack of glassware is truly incredible. Now let's get to the bad part - we ordered - nothing extraordinary - two chicken dishes and two burgers - and waited over an hour. No check in from the waitress, no food, nothing. After an hour, we flagged down the waitress- who said she would check on our food - when we complained about the delay, she said she would get the manager. We waited. And waited. We decided to leave, so we flagged the waitress down again to get our bill - she said the manager got sidetracked so did not come yet and walked away without giving us our total or taking our payment. We then went to the bar to pay the bill. The bartender got a manager who came to the bar, pulled up our order and took our payment ..... yes, after hearing what happened to us, she kept saying she was sorry as she made us pay for three beers and a drink. Incredible. A restaurant and brewhouse that has inadequate glassware, can't make two burgers and two chicken dishes off the menu in over an hour, and takes no responsibility for their abject failures. Good news - we went down the street to a locally owned restaurant that had food, glassware, and actually served us - what a concept.
