I typically like the eating establishments in downtown Willoughby. They are all nice little places with good everyday bar food. Easy to order, easy prices, good everyday food. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with "Sage Karma Kitchen". We showed up there for a quick dinner. The room was maybe 25% full. Plenty of room for seating. The hostess thought it was a great idea to sit us directly in the scorching sun rather than every other table in the room that would have been shaded... oh well. Our waitress showed up to take our order before we had a chance to even pick up the menus. We asked for just a couple minutes and she cheerfully walked away. Seemingly, never to return. I looked all around for her until I found her leaning on the bar talking to friends. We finally placed our orders, somewhat begrudgingly. My wife had a bowl that she definitely enjoyed very much. She said she would like to return to try it again. I struggled to find anything on the menu that sounded remotely interesting and finally just ordered the hummus appetizer. I fear they left the flavor in the kitchen. It certainly never arrived at my table. When we were ready to leave I had to begin the search once more for our waitress. She was nowhere to be found. I couldn't even enlist the aid of the hostess because she had found a group of her own friends to talk with. Finally, I found our waitress and was able to escape. Love the Grilled chicken sandwich and sprouts. That is always a hit. The rice that comes with the tostadas was barely seasoned , and tasted like normal rice, and they were out of flatbreads when we went. Never had a bad experience per se, but could for sure use some more seasonings on the rice. read more

There is an impressive list of tasty libations, but Adam can stir up something delightfully customized. Both of my beautiful daughters took me here for my birthday! It's a wonderful place because my youngest daughter is vegetarian and her boyfriend is vegan so she has to be really conscious of what she eats. My older daughter Genna and I are pretty flexible. The burgers here were grass fed so she and I had those options. The service was charming and polite and the food was very good. I really did like the homemade sweet potato chips that came with our burgers. Genna had the brussels sprouts which she said were delicious. Rora had a veggie burger, which was very good as well. We didn't have drinks here as none of us really felt like drinking at all and I didn't want the girls having drinks here and then driving home. This is one of the only places you can go to get clean, wholesome food. They have wildcat salmon and mine was cooked an extra-virgin olive oil cooked to medium-rare perfection. I got the side salad with vinegar and extra-virgin olive oil. Her server, Flynn, was outstanding. She was the sweetest and most attentive Waitress I've had in a while. We sat out on the patio underneath the pergola they have beautiful potted flowers, so the atmosphere was most pleasing the only caveat I have is that I asked for lemons for my salad, and they gave me sliced instead of wedges. After we paid I asked our waitress for a to go meal for my husband. I was told someone will come to my table. She was our waitress. We waited a long time. I stopped one of the waitresses. Cool casual dining option in Downtown Willoughby. The overall vibe is a mix between a paninis sports bar and healthy Indian spot. I got the karma bowl, and added a few things from the chakra bowl plus salmon. My salmon piece was especially tiny, especially to be a $12 add on. Nevertheless, my bowl of veggies had more flavor than I expected. It was cooked with a good amount of oil, but was red too greasy. My friend got the salmon dish, which was pretty much the same thing that I got but the salmon was much bigger. I did really enjoy the balsamic glaze on my dish. I live no where near Willoughby, where Sage Karma is located so I took advantage of being in the area to eat at this somewhat-new healthy, hipster spot. It is located right in the heart of downtown Willoughby and was very popular and busy on a Thursday night. I felt lucky to be able to grab a single seat right away. There is an entire bar with a large drink menu but it feels weird to me to order alcohol when I'm dining out by myself so I ordered a Diet Dr. Pepper. The Diet Dr. Pepper tasted VERY STRANGE. I felt awkward explaining why I had to send it back, but I had no other choice. The Diet Coke my waiter sent out as a replacement tasted fine. I ordered Senior's Psychedelic Burger meal (which appears to be the least healthy option on the menu!) The waiter was very helpful in helping me decide which side to have. I love brussell sprouts but he told me that they are so deep fried and covered in salt that they weren't even close to healthy. I was already having a cheeseburger and did not want to completely clog my arteries. The vegetable of the day was something I already had for lunch that day so I settled on the sweet potato chips, the most popular side at Sage Karma. There ended up being a lot of sweet potato chips so who knows which option would have been healthier in the end? The chips were definitely homemade with some excess oily grease and a light dusting of salt. I liked them but maybe I should have tried a more unique, healthier side to my burger. My burger was a medium-rare burger with sautéed mushrooms on top. It was a big burger on a large white bun, topped with lots of gooey cheese and mushrooms. It was very delicious and exactly what I was expecting. The portions were bigger than the picture shows. Overall, my meal cost me a little over $20 which seemed about right but I can see that people who buy appetizers and alcohol would end up with a very hefty bill at the end. I don't think I'll make a special trip out to Sage Karma any time soon but I won't say no to trying something else on the menu if I'm in the area again! read more

What was best was our server Jessica who is so bubbly and fun who's also a hard worker. She was so personable and it was lovely seeing her again for the second time! Great gal it really tied everything together. Only complaint I have would be their cupcakes being raw when I bit into them but great flavor, just raw. The worst service we've experienced in a very, very long time. My wife had to go find our server 3 times to tell her AGAIN what we had ordered because we'd been waiting so long. You shouldn't have to ask for a water 3 times or remind her twice that you ordered a beer. Decided to venture out to Willoughby hills for a dining experience. Landed on this place due to all the vegan options. Got a nice spot out on the patio. Ordered the Ganesha drink with Cbd it was good. My friend loved her spicy margarita. We wanted the munchies veggie plate as an appetizer sadly they were out of hummus. We went for the pretzels with vegan Buffalo cheese dip and ranch. The dips were delightful. Pretzels a bit skinny though. Dinner took 45 minutes to come. I think they forgot to put our food in but we were enjoying catching up. I wish the food was worth the wait. For dinner my friend got the tofu tacos and I went for the chickpea burger. I wanted vegan Mac and cheese was told they were out of that as well. Got the Brussels instead. Chickpea burger was more like chickpea smeared on a bun. The lemon aioli on it was amazing though. The Brussels were good but missing the balsamic sauce it's listed with. I asked for and then was upcharged. My friends tacos were super dry and overcooked I don't know how she ate them.
