I was told by a good friend that this place has the best big boy style burger and I need to try it. So last Saturday afternoon we did. First of all this is a really nice bar/restaurant. Big and spacious, and extremely clean. The waitress greeted us while we sat at our table and dropped off menus and got our drink order. Brought us our beverages and took out orders for food. Burgers, steaks, spaghetti, it's all on the menu. All I have to say is there version of the big boy gets a solid 9.2 out of 10. This is a must try if you're a fan of the big boy burger. The special sauce is spot on! The fries are very good and just enough. The waitress was great, always keeping a eye on us, and very informative on the menu. She suggested the pork chops next time, but I will have a hard time passing up the Willowick Boy. read more

Not impressed. Average bar food and Women's restroom dirty. Other places in area seem better.

We were pretty excited to go try this restaurant/bar. They claim to have the best fish fry in Lake County. We walked in and it seems more bar than restaurant, but we were fixated on this fish! We sat down at a table and we think we may have become invisible. No one said a word to us. The staff saw us but totally ignored us. We finally left after 20 minutes of waiting. Oh, by the way, the place was almost empty except a few people at the bar. Never going back. So disappointed! We ended up going to Petie's in Shoregate and had delicious fish and the best service!!! read more

Love this place! My mom was a barmaid here in the early 1970's. I remember going to their old establishment and sitting on the bar when I was about 5 yrs old and Jan would give me bowls of Charles Chips and drinking Shirley Temples. I can walk in here 45 years later and get greeted with hugs and kisses from Gus and Jan. The best homemade food in Lake County. Love you Mama and Gus. read more

I love the food here but why have a patio if everyone ignores you. Sat at dirty table for 15 min and peaked in the bar but everyone to busy taking care of people at bar. Beautiful patio but should pay attention when people want to sit there. read more

I am a fan of their pierogies!! These $5 gifts from heaven are AWESOME! Ana, the restaurant / bar manager is also the daughter of the owners. MA (the mother) cooks most of the food or at least provides all the recipes while 'The Ol'' Man sits at the end of the bar entertaining the patrons. I like this place because the people there are soooo nice. There is almost always free food out, they have the occasional band, and best yet, NO GUY BARTENDERS!! They need something to get the boys away to spend some cash right? Stop in on a random weekend, sit at the bar, order a beer and some pierogies, you won't be disappointed. You'll also be amazed on how big and open it is in there. They have some video games, a juke, decent bathrooms, and ample bar stools. If its nice out, you'll find some people out on their patio which is really nice. read more

I was getting my car detailed at Zappy's and didn't have anywhere to go and wait, so the kid at Zappy's suggested I go here, said the food is great! The place is huge for a 'bar', they have a very long bar and a few tables too. They also have a beautiful patio that overlooks Euclid Avenue, keno, pool tables and several big TV's. It has a Cheers vibe, seemed like everyone knew everyone in there but the patrons and the employees were friendly. They have daily food specials (today Taco Tuesday, 3 tacos for like $2.50). It was lunchtime and I was hungry so I ordered a grilled buffalo chicken sandwich and it came with fries ($9). It was great!!! The thing was huge and not what you'd expect bar food to be at all. The guy next to me ordered their other daily special, which was lasagna, and it smelled amazing. I'm not much of a bar fly, but if I were into hanging out in bars, I would totally come here. Just a nice vibe and a relaxed mature crowd. Thanks for the great experience today guys and for keeping me out of the 90 degree heat. I'll be back to try some of your other food :) read more

I hesitate to give eve one star to this establishment. The waitresses are rude, there food is awful. Even with a really good band playing there is no one there. Unless you enjoy bad food, an indifferent, rude experience from the staff and overpriced drinks, I would stay away. Many, many, many better options in the area read more

I wish I didn't have to take time to review this restaurant because that would mean reliving a bad experience. But I was thinking the whole time I was a patron there that I really wish somebody would have warned me ahead of time about the rudeness factor. The bathroom was one of the nicer bar/restaurant bathrooms, but that's about all I can say that is positive about this place. Of course, the soft drinks were severely watered down and tasteless, and the food could have been better, but wasn't tragic. The attitude of the staff however was unacceptable. If I am spending valuable time and money in an establishment, I expect a good experience. Be warned that you won't find it here. read more

We returned to this bar/restaurant this year for another Lenten fish fry. We attended one last year, and although the food was good the service was poor. We sluffed this off as a bad service night and decided to try it again this year. Unfortunately, nothing has changed as we had to wait over 10 minutes to have a bartender come to our area while we were waiting for a table. When we were seated, we waited over 15 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. During this time, one of our party had to go up to the bar for a round of drinks, since no one was servicing our table. After we placed our order, we waited about 20 minutes until the pre-meal of bread/butter and salad/cole slaw came to our table. Unfortunately, it arrived with 2 out of the 4 of our meals - everything at once. The third meal came about 10 minutes after that, and the fourth meal came after the rest of us were completely done with our meal. And that fourth meal came out wrong, had to be sent back to the kitchen, and then returned again 10 minutes later - still wrong. We boxed up the meal and left. What we have figured out is that although the bar area has an ample amount of customers, extra help is not available, most likely due to splitting the profits and tips. Its obviously not good business practice to have your customers wait, and wait, and wait, and wait for a beverage. And again, it was the exact same set-up last year - lots of customers, but no staff besides the owners - (and as a side note, we have gone to this bar just for drinks and received the same lack of service and staff). Why did we go back several times? Its fun to have a local establishment to visit and support. And lastly, after the horrendous service there was no apology, no comp of that fourth meal, no nothing.
