    Chicken tinga

So this was surprisingly good! I never heard of this restaurant and think it's name sounds dumb, so I avoided it. Finally looked at the menu and it's healthy bowls (rice, salad, or broth like pho) with plenty of protein and veggie options. I got the chicken tinga and it was surprisingly spicy (lots of sauce). So many veggie items - cucumbers, chickpeas, spinach, cheese, etc. You can order online, walk in, head to the back and pick up food there.

Ordered the delivery and it came faster than expected. Food was good and the large is only $2 more so why not, it's healthy!

The food was ok but the atmosphere was bland and the amount of hipsters there made me uncomfortable one asked for a ride home

Slow service and the food lacks flavor. It literally tastes like cardboard. The music is too loud to have any kind of conversation.

My husband and I used to frequent Charlie's in Perrysburg often. We have been to all locations over…read morethe years. This location is hit or miss with service and food. I think they understaffed for rush hours and often don't open their extra seating when it's needed. The wait staff has seemed frazzled enough times that I have been in there. In general though if you want a burger or gyro it's a safe bet.

Charlie's Restaurant - Maumee, OH Rating: 5/5…read more Charlie's in Maumee is one of those rare gems that captures the heart of a family-run spot and the soul of Mediterranean comfort food. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this place hits the mark every time. Let's start with the menu--it's impressively broad, covering all the bases from classic American breakfasts to mouthwatering Mediterranean specialties like gyro platters. You'll find something for every palate and every time of day. Their breakfast is especially worth a shoutout: hearty, delicious, and at half off, it's one of the best deals in town! Service is warm and welcoming, just like you'd expect from a family-owned place. You can feel the love and pride that goes into every dish and every interaction. Prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. Charlie's proves that great food doesn't have to come with a high price tag. Next time you're in Maumee, make Charlie's your go-to. It's the kind of place where memories are made, bellies are full, and hearts leave happier than they came in. Like Fen said, good luck finding this place based on the address. The pleasantly declarative "You…read morehave arrived" from my car's nav system took place in front of what I took to be a hospital grounds. There's nothing close to the road; it's all back a few hundred meters on a windy driveway. What exists at this address is actually the University of Toledo medical center (right) and a Hilton hotel (left). The restaurant is inside the hotel. At first I thought that their slick, over-animated website had sold me a bill of goods. There was NOBODY else there. Restaurant pickings on Sunday night in Toledo are slim, so I thought that I had lucked out to find a legitimate, classy restaurant with top-notch food and a swanky vibe. Nope. It was handsome in that hotel-restaurant way, so there was no impediment to enjoying my meal but nothing to sell the place either. And the absence of other diners is usually a strong point, but nobody wants to walk into a completely empty restaurant, right? Thankfully, the food redeemed them. Lamb chops, B+: You can tell that these weren't the choicest cuts of meat, but they were prepared very nicely in a rosemary and red-wine demiglace. Very tasty. Calamari, B: Fried squid is always worth eating, but there is definitely good calamari and mediocre calamari. This avoided mediocrity by sporting a lighter batter and being served with a savory, chunky marinara. Thai cashew rolls, C: The weak link. I had forgotten that they had cashews and thought that there were crunchy chunks of carrot in the rolls. There was something unpleasantly creamy inside the roll, almost like cream cheese. It wasn't listed on the ingredients for this dish, though. The sweet chili sauce saved this dish from being a total wash. Crab cakes, A: The star of the meal. These were some of the best crab cakes I've ever tasted, and that's saying something. In Toledo, OH? Yes! Simple--just crab meat and a few vegetables, still mostly crunchy. No bullshit fillers or flavorings. There was a lemony sort of dressing which set off the crab cakes (and the accompanying salad) very well. Delicious.

Ambience can be a little bit loud, but not distracting. We were able to have good conversations and enjoy the music at the same time. The menu has a great variety and all of us really enjoyed our meals. Including a couple of great cake cakes for dessert that are made in house. Service was also great. Even though the place was packed, the staff were very attentive and made sure that everything was going well. They also have quite the drink selection with many how special creations that were pretty tasty!

So this place is doing its best to be a restaurant with a bar. I came in at 750. Closes at 9. Already odd to me. There was maybe 3 tables and 3 folks at the bar. Nobody at the please wait to be seated sign so I took myself to the bar. Looks the same to me as when it was a bar but now have tables n got rid of the stage where bands play. Sat there for a few before the bar tender came over. No drink/food menu offered. What can I get you is all? Can I get a drink menu please? No drink prices which if u read my read my reviews I hate this. Just got a beer because who knows how much the cocktail costs. Have to ask for a food specials menu. Not offered. I was a bartender. Alot of solo folks eat at the bar. Always ask if they need food/drink menu So the service picked up for a minute. Then I get this $25 lamb shank. Saturated in gravy. I couldn't even tell the meat from the gravy. I like lamb but this dish tastes like beef. I don't lik beef. Maybe it was the gravy. Someone did come up behind me n ask how i was doing but I was trying to figure out what was I eating and was it edible. The mashed potatoes that were buried under all that gravy were good. Maybe the lamb had good favor? Couldn't taste it. Couldn't tell u. Got a side of veggies that were very tender but not much flavor. Took 5 bites to not appear rude but there is another restaurant in town that has the lamb shank special with a bbq glaze and Mac n cheese as a side. Totally different stratosphere on flavor n taste. Tasted like lamb. Took it home n the man said it was all bones with bites of meat and it thought maybe it was beef gravy. So on to the service. I wanted dessert but the bartender at 830 had her back to the bar counting her tip $ so I caught a server that went behind the bar to order it to go as obviously they wanted me out? Bread pudding was decent. I don't think I would be back between the weird hours and the service it made we wish I spent my $40 at Texas Roadhouse. This is my second Sabas restaurant try. Not impressed
