I was warmly greeted my multiple staff and assisted immediately by Steve who proved to know his inventory and to possess sales person qualities as he gladly assisted me- asking questions to narrow down my needs within my budget. He was delightful, willing to take the extra steps to ensure I got a chair that I can lift into my trunk. He offered willingly to test these chairs outside in the parking lot! Received a bill July 5th for medical equipment rentals from January. I questioned the charges and billing referred me to the store. The manager Carson blew me off and handed me off to Madison. This star is pretty dim! Now remember that this business is supposed to help with home medical needs. So my Pulmomologist, submitted a prescription for an oxygen concentrator. Here is where the 2 stars come from, because they did a pretty good job for that, except that the asst.-Madison when finishing the sale said I owed nothing. The Mgr, Craig decided that wasn't right and charged me over $100. He said it was a, 1 time fee. Ever since though, they are charging $15.78/month for it. If it was a 1 time fee, then why the extra? Currently, it is under investigation by my insurance on a, QUESTION OF OVERBILLING! It got worse from there. In June of 2024, the Dr. felt that I needed to use an APAP machine for sleep apnea. Well, when I went to pick it up, again I was assisted by Madison. She suggested which mask would be right for me. The problem was that very soon after, I developed a sore on the side of my nose which became infected. Another visit to the store to swap for a different mask. Well, no size fitting was done, she just got the same size as before, on a different kind of mask. I kept getting very strange readings on the app for the machine. Back to the store again. They didn't know what to do. She just reset it, sort of like rebooting a computer. Seemed better for a few days, but that was it. The app kept showing poor time use, and poor fit of the mask, AND several events/hour of stopping breathing. I don't know about anyone else, but I am not a fan of stopping breathing while asleep. They literally didn't know what else to do! Now we aren't talking about the best way to use a toenail clipper, we are talking about a device to help when you stop breathing! I didn't like the no answer response. I brought it to my Pulmomologist who took 1 look and said IT WAS NOT FITTING PROPERLY, CAUSING TOO MUCH AIR LEAKAGE. She said I needed a smaller size. Now again, no fitting was ever done in the store using the provided tool. Well, they said it had to go through the insurance. Time goes by, with continued problems. I keep calling my insurance and the provider...getting nowhere. Then I am told it had been approved. I call Copper Star and am told they have no approval for a mask. Time keeps going, frustration level keeps rising. Finally on the July 24, I called again and Madison tells me the approval came through and they have plenty in stock. Tells me, I should be able to come in the next day to swap mine. Then says she has to talk to Craig (the Mgr) just to be sure everything is OK. The next day comes and I get a call from Craig. He says I am not allowed to swap it until July 30th. Pretty stupid, since they are the ones who made the mistake, giving the wrong size. I tell him I am going in for surgery and need the machine for use in the hospital. He still insists that I can't swap it until the 30th. He could care less about my surgery. I then called the supplier. They tell me since I was just swapping sizes, that I did not have to wait and absolutely could could exchange the size. Could you go to a clothing store, be given the wrong size and then told you couldn't exchange it for the right size? I asked them to call Copper Star, so I could get it before my surgery. They did. Good Ole caring Craig tells them, that I have made too changes and HE WON'T GIVE IT TO ME AT ALL NOW! Again, the change happened because they suggested the wrong kind, and then on the 1st swap, gave me the wrong size. Now, there will be no help this time OR IN THE FUTURE! So, poor service, lack of knowledge, and intentionally trying to cause harm to a patient with a valid medical prescription. Why on Earth would anyone want to purchase anything from this store. There certainly are other medical supply stores in the area. It is lights out for this "star". Find another place, where they actually want to help a person with medical needs - not intentionally cause a bigger problem. read more

I needed a transfer wheelchair during our week in Scottsdale to get around for longer distances than i can do with the walker. Copper Star was so helpful from the first phone call to the end of the week. They delivered the chair to our timeshare villas lobby, the driver texting his ETA and his arrival. Seamless. And I arranged with Copper Star to pick it up after we leave. Highly recommend them. read more

UPDATE 05/23/2023: I received a letter from Korry Johnston, President of Copper Star stating that since he refunded a portion of the restocking fee he hoped I would change my review. The thing is no one in the house ever heard of Korry Johnston or even talked to him. My review was honest based on my experience with them and it strikes me as unethical that they wanted me to change my review for partially refunding the stocking fee on a unit which was defective i.e. way too loud. The unit came with loosely wrapped batteries that were totally depleted and required most of the day to charge so that I could try out the unit. These batteries are always shipped with some capacity else they'll go bad and never recovered. But since the unit is used to demonstrate before a sale is made it could explain why the batteries were loosely wrapped and totally depleted. read more

I was able to get new cpap equipment within a week of my physician sending over the RX. I am still waiting for Valley Respiratory to even acknowledge that they have received the RX which is where my physician initially sent the RX. I recently purchased a replacement part for a medical device I own. The salesperson thought the part she sold me would work. Unfortunately the part did nor work. When I went to the store to return it I was shocked to be told the part could not be returned because the package was opened. How was I to know if the replacement part was correct without opening the package? The package had merely been opened, not destroyed. The part I purchased was not damaged or marred. We had a very positive experience with Kelly at the Phoenix location on East Bell Road. We had been shopping for a TENS unit for a family member with some back pain problems. I had been to another competitor medical supply store in Peoria, AZ who refused to let us perform a demo on their potential units without actually purchasing a unit with no right of return if we did not like one. I thought that was an unreasonable position and contacted Valley Medical Supply and Kelly. After explaining the type of unit we neede and the strength desired Kelly recommended a demonstration of their Ultima 5 TENS Unit if we would purchase a $8 TENS Pad set to perform the demo. That of course was a very reasonable request to which we immediately agreed. The Ultima Unit was right on and performed very well, so we purchased the unit and thanked Kelly for her courteous and efficient help. This is the type of understanding and accomodation to customers that we needed, and will always return to Valley Medical Supply and Kelly for our future needs! My insurance doesn't require a pre authorization. This place thought they were going to sit on my order for 2 weeks. I waited a good week until I finally got through to a manager who promised my machine same day delivery. 9:30pm told around and I still don't have it. Had to call their after hours therapist who finally had it delivered. But you can't use the fucking machine without the mask!!!!! Biggest group of idiots ever. BUYER BEWARE. Although this company has a good assortment of medical supplies and equipment, they fail to point out that ALL SALES ARE FINAL regardless of the reason. The manager and owner would not budge approving a bath bench return THE DAY AFTER purchase. "Was not used/ would not fit my mother's shower" I politely explained to the manager. "No exceptions from the owner" I was told. This company also rented us a shoddy wheelchair with loose brakes and a wobbly armrest that was ready to fall off. FALL RISK for my already unstable and injured mother!. My daughter had a scooter accident and broke her jaw right before Christmas. Due to other health problems she needed supplemental oxygen. She was due to fly home for a week and her flight was scheduled on Christmas Day. I was told the price for portable oxygen tank was 250.00 a week and 500 a month. Extra battery is 50.00. I told them she would be flying back to AZ on Jan. 1. I was told they would be closed that day and it wouldn't be a problem. My daughter took the port oxygen tank back to them on Jan. 2. Today I looked at my credit card statement and have been charged a total of 600.00 for a portable oxygen tank that we had for 9 days - the 24th - the 2nd of Jan. She didn't get the tank until right before they closed on the 24th and she couldn't return it on the 1st due to them being closed. I feel like that is out of our control. I called and talked to the manager in the travel dept and am now told they charge 125.00 a day for each day after 7 days. I feel like they took my credit card and can now charge whatever they want. I feel ripped off and taken advantage of. I looked at the paperwork they sent and it didn't say anything about the 125.00 a day charge. Unfortunately I am in MT and she is in AZ. read more

The absolute WORST company I have ever dealt with! Valley Medical Supplies is a company that works in the medical industry and they take advantage of dying sick people!! We were dealing with my dad that was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and this company took advantage of us and our situation! We were stressed to the max caring for my dying father, I had to deal with this absolute horrible company and their terrible customer service, ripping us off!! My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. My family and I wanted to get him a recliner chair that would help him get up and down with ease. We didn't have a lot of time to order a chair, so we bought a chair that was on Valley Medical Supplies floor. My dad was too sick at this point to use the chair, so we returned the chair in 6 days. Valley Medical Supplies refused to take the chair back, saying the receipt says Lift Chairs are Final Sale. We were NEVER told that when we purchased the chair, if we were told it was a final sale we would have NEVER purchased it!! We called Valley Medical Supplies to speak to the owner regarding this, because the website states: Special order purchases are non-refundable with the exception of lift chairs. Lift chairs are returnable and subject to a restocking fee (no greater than 10%). We were fine with a 10% restocking fee, but the manager Fernando told us that custom lift chairs are final sales. We explain to him that we did NOT order a custom lift chair we bought the chair off of the floor at Valley Medical Supplies. He said, the receipt states: it's a final sale. We asked him if he knew what the return policy states on their website...Fernando did not know. When we told him, he said we do not take used items back, we said...you sell used items, we bought that chair used off of your floor!! The manager, Fernando was very argumentative telling us that we could not speak to the owner, as he was hired to deal with people who wanted refunds and has been doing this for 13 years. Fernando said he called Ashley furniture and they do not refund furniture, that no big companies refund furniture. We are smart enough to know, that is NOT a true statement! We let Fernando know that we would be contacting a lawyer regarding this situation. He said, he would talk to the owner and get back to us. A week later Fernando said, he spoke to the owner and Valley Medical Supplies would take the chair back, but they would charge us a $250 restocking fee (more that 10%) and charge us $75 to pick up the chair from our house. We agreed. When they came to pick up the chair they said there was a quarter inch or smaller scratch on back of the chair. They ended up changing us another $200.00! $250.00 restocking fee $75.00 delivery and $200.00 for a scratch that probably happen on Valley Medical Supplies floor! $525.00 total on a $1975.00 chair. Save yourself the headache and buy elsewhere!! read more

Called to ask about a cpap mask fitting. I was told they do not do that and if the mask they sell you doensn't fit right, too bad, you bought it and they won't take it back. Direct words were if you open the box you bought it. Anyone who has used cpap masks will tell you they fit differently and a good fit to your face is critical or you get leaks and other problems and you don't get the treatment your Dr prescribed. Run someplace else - masks are a lot cheaper online if you don't need a fitting (e.g. replacing an existing mask that fits well). If you are looking for a new mask fittings are essential. PS See their reply - while saying a fit is important, they still don't offer any fittings. Hmm, after I added this PS they edited their comment at least agreeing they don't do fittings as they are not qualified. As I said, if you know what you want (have a great fitting mask you are replacing) you can find things cheaper online. Otherwise, you need to go to a DME that will properly fit a mask for you. read more

I live in Denver, but come out to Phoenix to skydive down at Eloy. A while back, I had a bad opening and got severe whiplash. I went to Valley Medical Supplies to grab an ice pack. Tim helped me out and set me up with a hot/cold pack, some pain relief ointment, and an electric heat pad, so I didn't have to run to the microwave every 5 minutes. Great advice and friendly staff. Not to mention a great store! I've been to a few others that looked a bit like warehouses. A few months later I hurt my foot and needed a boot. The doctor told me the price and I let him know I was going to shop around a bit, because it wasn't that urgent. Even though I was out of town, I gave Valley Medical Supplies a call and they had a boot out to me that day, delivered within 2. We were very pleased with sales and appreciated Shea's help. There was a bit of delay getting our lift chair delivered though. This morning we had delivery by Omar. Very professional and courteous young man, but they only had one delivery man for a several hundred pound chair. Our home is up several stairs so needless to say we were worried. It's more than worrying about something damaging our furniture. It's about worrying about the poor delivery person struggling to get the chair into your home. One human being can not and should not have to do that. Their clientele is handicapped and disabled people...accommodate that!
