Just reaffirming that this is a top notch place that's worth a look see. We were here last night and I had my favorite Ahi Tuna which was awesome. My wife had Shrimp and grits which she enjoyed and I'll attest too as my fork found its way into her creamy grits. My neighbor had the pork chops which looked fabulous and also tasted fabulous. I decided to have a late lunch around 1pm. There were only about 3 customers present. I decided to try the fried cheese curds appetizer, and they are AMAZING! Definitely an dish and worth the $8. I've added a picture. I also had the Blackberry Basil Whiskey Sour. So, yummy. $12. For my entree I went with the hamburger steak with ceasar salad and mashed potatoes for my sides. I ordered the hamburger steak cooked medium but it came out well done and a bit dry. There was a dab of thick congealed gravy on top. The gravy was ok, but cold it tasted a bit of raw flour. We are passing through and stopped for a couple days. Had dinner twice at this place! Saturday was All You Can Eat Crab Legs! That was amazing. The kids menu was perfect for 2yrs and up. My kiddos in enjoy the slider and seasoned fries. Also the kids Mac and Cheese my toddler loved. They had a special on Wings and the Garlic Parm wings were AMAZING! The pimento Cheeseburger was delicious! Pretty tasty burger too. The waitstaff was friendly and they seemed to always be prompt in what we needed like refills or anything else that we asked for. This was our 2nd visit.its ok. We got onion. Petals as app. When it came out irlt was just warm greasy and limp. Our waitress graciously exchanged for new batch and they were much better. I got chicken tenders, they were ok a baked potato which was very well done and salad. My husband ordered shrimp and grits. The gouda grits were very good, the shrimp were grilled and ok. The gravy over it was very thin almost like milk without much taste. Our waitress was very nice but busy. We really like this place! Wish we had a place like this in Columbia. It's a really cool restaurant with such a friendly staff. The food came out quickly and was good. Drinks were nice and cold. I had the club salad which was delicious! The place is really nicely decorated and looks great. Very clean. I like the little "cards" in the restroom to give to an employee in case it needs cleaning. Neat atmosphere with old brick interior and some church pew seats. Had brunch on a Sunday, so service was a bit slow. Unique menu and drink selections. I had the hangover cure which was everything a breakfast could be in a bowl. Taste was great, grits a bit cold. Wife had the eggs Benedict with shrimp. This was our first visit to Copper House. The cheese curds were fabulous and that is the only reason this review is getting 2 stars. Everything else was terrible. We went on a Friday evening around 6pm. It was not crowded at all so servers were not very busy. We sat for 20 minutes before we saw our server to order drinks. We even contemplated walking up to the bar to order. Drinks went empty several times during our meal. I ordered the nachos and they had no flavor at all. My friends ordered the hand battered shrimp and were not impressed by those either. Service was horrible. Food was flavorless (aside from cheese curds). Came out to Holly Hill just to try out the Copper House House tonight. AYCE crab legs and let me tell you, some of the best and cleanest snow crab legs. It sounds simple, but IMO it's easily messed up. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked and smelled amazing!!! What a super cute restaurant!! The decor from the main dining room, to the bar, to even the bathrooms!! Fantastic service from start to finish, I didn't want for anything while I was there. My cup never went empty and I left a happy camper. The old fashion with Guinness simple syrup had me at first sip. Totally worth the hour drive from Charleston. We stopped in on our way down I26. This place is off the interstate by about 7 miles but it was worth it. I ordered the shrimp po boy and my husband had a burger. The po boy had great lightly fried shrimp and crisp ciabatta. We also ordered Gouda grits. All very tasty. Ambiance is laid back tavern. One room with tv's, one without. I will start by stating I have never left a review in my life and I am not young. I made this account specifically to address this experience. I had such high hopes. That the restaurant is veteran owned really pulled me in. I had seen a photo of a lovely tuna steak, sliced and over zucchini and summer squash nestled aside mashed potatoes. I sent my son to get that particular dish for me as take out. He specifically asked the server if it was available. He asked it be cooked ' medium', slightly pink tuna. What I received was a cold slab of overcooked gray tuna steak that was so heavily salted it was inedible. It was accompanied with a dry ceasar salad and reheated baked potato that seemed to have been microwaved. There was no butter or sour cream for the potato and no dressing for the salad. I took one bite of the overcooked and oversalted tuna and offered it to my dog, who actually sniffed it and walked away. I know that seems an exaggeration, but truly it is not. I contacted the restaurant through the FB page, explained that I did not want anything except to share my disappointment and recommend stronger quality control measures. I received an almost instant response that they " train our staff very carefully and the steak was overcooked because it was shown rare and my son ordered it medium" I've never seen 'medium' cooked tuna with no pink and they failed to address that the presentation and accompaniments were not at all what was ordered, nor that the food was inedible, nor that they had failed to include anything I needed as far as condiments for the meal. I really hate to post this but management needs to know. We order to go food often from here and it's never right or missing something. We ordered a chicken bacon ranch wrap with the chicken tossed in buffalo sauce. The wrap came with no bacon, no ranch, and the chicken wasn't tossed. There has been many of times we check our to go food and things are missing or wrong. Like a certain topping on a salad, wrong flavor of wings, etc. Luckily we check before we leave but I hope management makes it a priority to ensure all to go food is correct before letting it leave the kitchen. read more

Went tonight for Valentine Day, bad mistake. Food took forever to come out. Mac and cheese came out cold. I ordered the 8 oz filet, butterflied and well done. It came out very pink. For a "country" restaurant, it's good.. ambiance puts me In the mind of Cracker Barrel without all the extras.. I would recommend to get rid of the church benches personally, jus move the tables to the wall if you don't want to get more chairs but def loose the pews. Food was ok, fries were out in the oven which takes the crispiness out of them, i would prefer crispy fries with a cheese sauce cause the shredded cheese got hard by the time it got to the table .. I liked the wings although they remind me of prebreaded/frozen wings but I like that they were small so I was able to eat them.. my friend liked her salad.. it was jus a garden with bacon so I guess you can't go too wrong with that .. Servers were extremely nice and helpful .. I was a little disappointed because I saw salmon or some type of grilled fish on the fb page but didn't see it on the menu .. We had a party of 5. The drinks and appetizers are really good. We realize they just opened so I'll give them some grace to work out the kinks. The young waitress never checked on our drinks, she never cleared our plates when we were done or asked if we wanted to go boxes. Our entrees all came out at different times. I ordered the club sandwich and I was last to get my food (by 10 min), and it didn't have bacon. That's what makes a club a club lol. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger, and it didnt have cheese. My families fries were stale and old, but mine were good probably why mine was last to come out. My hubby's po boy sandwich was the size of a toddler's sandwich. The bartender did make awesome drinks, and he made sure to check on us. Having the juke box was a plus. The atmosphere is very cool. Our server was somewhat unconcerned about us because she had a party of seven in the other dining room that her and another server were both catering to. The server did not write anything down and was not able to remember what we ordered so she had to ask us a second time about a couple of things. Our salads arrived two minutes before our meal leaving us to eat both our food and our salads at the same time, less than ideal. The ribeye was small and not very tender. The fried shrimp were nicely prepared and not over-cooked and they were flavorful. The potato with cheese and bacon was $1.99 up charge but it was not listed or explained as an up charged item, no big deal, but it barely had any bacon on it so it was a waste of money. The interior is not bad but those cushions on the church pews definitely need replaced because they are worn out and offer little in the way of cushioning. The A/C leaked on our table, splashed on us and they acted surprised about it when I requested a napkin to at least stop the splashing. Not impressed. Ridiculous prices for what I received - a burger on a cold bun and tiny cup of ketchup for fries. Why can't they just give you a bottle of ketchup? It's all weird. Waitress took too long for refills on our drinks. Veggie sides obviously came frozen and no seasonings. The church pew we were sat at had crumbs all over it and we came in right when the place opened - do you all not clean before leaving at night? I hate to sound harsh, but if you want to charge like you're a fancy place, be a fancy place. Live up to that expectation. Ambiance was off putting. Judge-y waitress with lack of service. This was my daughter and my first time eating at this restaurant and were only 2 of five people dining there. The owner was busy doing paperwork with her 13ish old daughter, walking around looking to serve a table or following her mother like a puppy needing attention. We ordered an old-fashioned, but it was straight up whiskey on one small ball of ice. Neither one of the bartenders knew how to make it because we saw them whispering and looking at their phone for a good 10 minutes before bringing the drinks. We ordered a ginger ale to reduce the taste, and the waitress didn't care to ask what was wrong. After waiting ten minutes before anyone checking on us. Another 15 minutes went by after we doctored the drinks when my daughter asked for them to take the drink away and bring her water. They gave her something that tasted like a watered-down ginger ale. They brought out the cheese curds that we ordered, which was amazing!!! Then they gave us the steak that we ordered. It was luke warm and all fat, the potatoes had a weird taste, the gravy was burnt, and the frozen mixed vegetables were lightly grilled with a sour taste. After another 10 minutes, the waitress came to check on the food. When we explained what was wrong, she quickly caught an attitude and went to grab the manager. The manager that came over was seen taking shots with customers during our appetizer and meal. She said that she was allowed to, but that she was also not on the clock, though she was addressing our table and was behind the bar. We spoke very calmly about what was wrong, and she asked us the same questions over and over again. It seemed that she just couldn't grasp what was going on around her. We explained that we had no issue paying for the curds and drinks, but she told us we didn't have to pay for anything. After again asking us the same questions over and over, and we explained too many times we didn't want anything except to go home, she finally released us. Its a pretty cool little spot, but after being seated for 30 minutes and still waiting on the 2 beers we had ordered and then the wrong beer was brought to the table we decided to leave. This restaurant, in Holly Hill, has only been open a few weeks, or months, so it will have some "growing pains" as all restaurants do. But, my experience last night made me feel they have a lot of additional growing to do. My partner and I arrived about 6 pm and were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered chicken wings as an appetizer and wine. My partner's wine came, but the waitress said she didn't know what "Malbec" was. I changed my order. While waiting, I was getting dripped on by an A/C duct above my head, so we moved to the table next to us. The sides from our meal order arrived, but the meal itself didn't. The meal arrived a few minutes later, and I asked the waitress to cancel the order for the chicken wings (which were ordered as an appetizer). Then the chicken wings came a couple of minutes later. My partner got the Shrimp Po Boy which she said was good, but the roll it was made with fell completely apart, so she ate it as a meal. I ordered the Rib Eye, done medium well. When it finally arrived it was raw - literally bright red. The waitress gave a "reason" it was delivered that way, but I could not comprehend what she was saying. She took the meal back to the kitchen. My partner finished her meal and my meal returned in a very well done state. Not what I ordered, I ate it anyway. The venue itself is rustic and well appointed and the rest rooms were clean. As stated above, Copper House has growing to do and issues regarding how it serves its customers.
