All kinds of seating for all sizes of groups. Bathroom was clean! Waiter was incredibly good, competent, friendly. He made us feel like we were old friends. We had chef salads & fried mushrooms. Both were fresh, temperature appropriate. Requests for plenty of dressing was fulfilled. Food service was quicker than expected. Pricing? Very reasonable allowing for a great, well earned, tip. We went here for the first time in a long time the other night and wont be going back again. First clue should have been the B rating on the door. We were seated quickly and the staff was nice. Our table was sticky, but I just threw on some hand sanitizer and wiped it with a napkin. Maybe the stickiness is what initially attracted the gnats that were bothering us the whole stinking time. I literally managed to kill 6 but there were still more around. They kept landing in the food which was a bit off putting. The waitress said they were bothering everyone not just our table. We ordered drinks while we decided what to eat. It took a little while to get our drinks which were very weak. It was a Tuesday night and not crowded. We ordered our food then waited much longer than you would expect for it. I ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich. It was ok, but nothing to write home about. My husband got the Ultimate Fries and Ultimate Nachos (yeah not a very health conscious guy lol). He said they were ok, but again, nothing to rave about. Visited on Sunday around 1:30. Food was spectacular. I ordered the grilled honey sriracha chicken sandwich with onion rings. You can get it grilled or fried. There is an expansive menu with a lot of items. Dining area was clean. Ambiance was nice... bar/grill with good music. The service was okay but could have been a bit better. After my second time of dining in here, I stopped ordering food because the service was so slow and and the food was not all that great. And drinks were watered down. The staff act like they could care less whether you got waited on or not. We switched over to beer cause you can't water that down. It just got so bad we don't even go there anymore. Barrel House looks like an upscale honky tonk both outside and in, hi-tops and booths away from the bar and an assortment of fancy hooch secured behind a large sheet of glass... MLB had a deconstructed barrel burger plus an up-charge baked potato which all looked super cool and tasted pretty OK too. my patty melt was super moist and maillardy with a dribble of steak sauce and caramelized onions on tejas toast plus fries... so good! greet-&-seat was prompt and courteous, server was attentive as well. no comment on the bar - 150 miles from home so only the softest of drinks for me today. read more

This was a very unexpected stop on a long road trip. It took us a few minutes to park as we were in an RV, but it was worth it. The menu has so many choices! Everything was delicious. Located in Waterboro SC local bar/restaurant looks better inside. I ordered BHG cut steak over mashed potatoes it was a 3 star not a lot of steak just a few slices with onions, flavor was good. Wife ordered double cheese burger she enjoyed it however patties were more on the smaller size in-between slider size and a 1/4 lb burger. Service was very friendly nothing over the top in service. this place used to have pretty good food but it has really gone to the dogs.... took my wife there for a late lunch on dec. 3rd 2024 and we were very disappointed in the food as well as the server. we both ordered the French dip plate mine w/chippers and hers w/fries, when our orders came the sandwiches weren't your typical French dip as the meat looked like steak trimmings that was overcooked and literally burnt black instead of sliced roast beef the cheese was also burnt , fries looked like they had been cooked a second time and overcooked and the chippers were actually very good and fresh. neither one of us could finish anything other than the chippers and both plates had chewed up gristle and fat that could not be eaten.. when our server finally came by we told her and showed her all the problems and expressed our disappointment to which she did nothing just gave us the check..... we were so disappointed we just paid and left. although after thinking about it I decided to write a review, really kind of pissed me off! tired of paying for crap!! read more

The prime rib sandwich was decent. Good flavor but not a lot of meat. My fries came out cold and dark colored. My waitress noticed without me saying anything and offered to replace them. I was very thankful. She then proceeded to the kitchen where she was promptly shouted and cursed at by the cook for bringing them back. (Everyone could hear it). She tried to explain to him that it's wrong to serve those but he wasn't listening. She then told us that he had given us old fries and she didn't notice until they were on the table. I felt sorry for her to work in that environment and I probably won't return to this place unfortunately. We recently placed an order for for pick-up and ordered another Dagwood, along with the sampler platter appetizer, because I like cheese sticks. I've been to Time Out Sports Bar (It is now called Barrel House) multiple times in the past few weeks. Walterboro has slim pickings when it comes to bars, but we came in with an open-mind. I know that Barrel House is one of the more popular bars in town. With that being said, here's my rundown of the place. The first time we were there, they had a terrible first impression. We came in with a group of friends, and some of the people in our group, had been here before. One of the bartenders told someone in our group they had an unpaid bill (which was not true) and that made the environment very uncomfortable. We weren't properly welcomed by any waiter or waitress, and the bartender approached our group with this issue. After the bill was paid, things got a little better...until I ordered my drink. I asked the waitress for a vodka collins, and I knew that she didn't know what it was by the way she looked at me. What she brought to me, was essentially a watered down sprite. There was ZERO alcohol in the drink...I took several drinks of it, and couldn't taste any alcohol whatsoever. Clearly, the bartender didn't know what they were doing. The one good thing about my first visit was the fried oyster basket I had. This was my first taste of seafood down in South Carolina, and it didn't ruin seafood for me so hip hip hooray! I liked the homestyle fries that came with my oyster basket too. Side note: If you want homestyle fries, you MUST REQUEST them. Their "regular" fries are crinkle-cut fries, so if you aren't a big fan of those, then you have to specifically tell them which kind you'd like. The following times I visited, were all much better experiences. My general consensus about Barrel House, is that they have great food, and spotty service (and I don't mean phone service). Their food is always fresh and hot. I particularly LOVE their wings and burgers. Shoutout to their ranch sauce...you can tell it's made in-house. The drinks are hit or miss...there is one bartender there who makes DELICIOUS White Russians...they tasted like milkshakes and I had several. No offense, but their two female bartenders need to learn how to make better drinks. When their bartenders aren't making drinks, you can see them going in the back with shots and drinks for their fellow employees...not professional at all. I've seen them have a little "mini party" in the back on multiple occasions. Barrel House has a nice patio in the back/outdoor bar, and if you're into lawn games or karaoke, they have those back there too. This area seems to draw a lot of customers and I think it's a fun place to be when nightfall comes around and the humidity is more bearable. read more
