The staff really were incredible. They go out of their way to do it right. The Sunday brunch chicken & waffles are consistently very well prepared and very tasty. The pickles look like they make them there from scratch. and the spiced maple syrup just rakes the meal to the next level! read more

The Copper Boar is an upscale Pub food experience. The ambiance feels pretty average American bar but the boar speckled wallpaper is cool. Service has always been friendly for us if a little slow at times. Ask for a refill well in advance if needing it. They have different themed days like a west coast and a trivia night. The real standout here though is the food. I've enjoyed the turkey club a lot. The bacon jam is delicious. And generous portions of turkey, The pub fries are really tasty. The pork belly is to die for. The mushroom and Swiss is a favorite of my spouse. I also really enjoyed their brunch selections. The thick cut French toast is prepared perfectly and delicious. Even the everyday eggs and bacon were satisfying. I've also had their Detroit style pizzas and I'd honestly choose them over 90 percent of pizza places in the area. Give the Copper Boar an opportunity if you like elevated pub food. Especially during their brunch. read more

We visited there today for the first time, on Easter of all days. We got there early, with no reservations, but they accommodated us (which there was only 3) to a table in the bar area. We just sat at the bar for about 10 min which was completely fine. The bartender was super nice, and the Strawberry Mango Bellini rocked! We got to the table and our server was very attentive for as busy as it got. I unfortunately cannot remember his name, but he made great recommendations and knew the menu well. The food was great, absolutely no complaints. Looooved my pancakes....omg to die for! The atmosphere is a clean, chill vibe. With quite a few T.V.s as well. I cannot believe it's taken so long for us to go there. We will definitely be back. read more

It's been a minute since I've been to this hidden gem. No like literally, you could drive right past Copper Boar and never see it. Or if you did see it, not know how to access it. It's off Penn, but still hard to see. But if you know what you're look for-- the location is convenient, easy access from 965 or the interstate. The patio is amazing with tons of greenery, shade and event a tv outside to watch the big game. We were seated there right away. There's a lot of seating! My biggest knock is the service was SO slow. Like, two hours slow. But the waitstaff we encountered were kind, diligent and knowledgable. I'm chalking it up to a short staffed kitchen. EVERYTHING on the brunch menu looked, sounded and was sublime. I had the Hot Nashville Chicken and Waffles. SO good. The pickles were a nice touch, I loved the hot with the sweet maple syrup in each bite. $1 mimosas with the purchase of an entree was a nice touch. Everyone in my group enjoyed their menu and devoured what they could-- but some portion sizes were large! To-go boxes it was. Parking is a non issue. It has a party room. Pricing is on point. If you're in NL-- try to look up Copper Boar! read more

A large open dining room that was super clean. Lots of large tables for groups, Tvs well placed around the room. The food was amazing. Tender prime rib piled high and the fries were perfect crispy and delicious. The pork was really good. My lunch partner could not stop raving about it. Light breading and a mustard that was described as the cool whip of mustard. The service was good. Attentive but not annoying. Highly recommend. read more

Love the food and the atmosphere - not sure how this place has anything less than a 5-star review. North Liberty people are kinda uppity, I guess. Absolutely the best brunch in town, good prices, good food, nice scope of cuisine on the menu for different folks. Highly recommended. read more

Wanted to update my review to 5 stars. I've really been enjoying everything I order from Copper Boar and another visit to the weekend brunch with family had us all singing this eatery's praises. I love the multiple specials they have each week, giving us a chance to try something delicious that is not usually on the menu. They might even have my new favorite burger in town (try one for $10 on Mondays). Keep up the good work Copper Boar! read more

We went to the Copper Boar for lunch on a recent Saturday. Food was really good and the beer and drink list were pretty solid. Service was a little bit slow given that the place wasn't all that busy the day we went, but it was adequate. The ambiance was very nice and we will definitely go back when we are in the area. read more

Ate lunch on 6-12-26. The place was nearly empty. We were seated promptly and had a waitress take our food/drink order. As we waited we watched as an incoming party waited for several minutes as no persons were present to assist in seating this party. Our food arrived and one order was incorrect. This was brought to the attention of the server. We had waited long enough for the original order and didn't want to wait for the corrected second order. Food wasn't bad. The Dill pickle fries are fries, not Dill pickles. Waitress a bit inattentive, especially for the lack of guests. Also we were under the assumption that the pickle fries were pickles, but I guess that is on us. Understand now why it was empty at noon on a Friday. Plenty of other choices friends, do not waste your money here. read more

We are food connoisseurs. We've been going here regularly since the day they opened. We've had almost everything on their menu and it's always been mouthwateringly appetizing, delectable, savory and absolutely scrumptious. The employees and owners are truly wonderful people, attentive, knowledgeable, efficient, professional and friendly. You can tell they enjoy their job as they are always smiling. They're a well oiled machine, everyone works together and happily helps each other. We absolutely love the cozy atmosphere and we have parties in their private room frequently. I don't personally know anyone that works there or the owners so I do not have a biased opinion. I honestly can't think of a negative thing to say about Copper Boar. It is our favorite restaurant BY FAR. read more

We came here for a date night and had a great experience! We sat outside by the fire which was amazing. The service was great and not overbearing. Amazing food and drinks. The chefs here pay attention to flavor and presentation. Good job.

Amazing breakfast, amazing lunch, and amazing dinner. I love this place as one of my favorites. The service is also very good.

As soon as I hear brunch, I have to be there! I tried Copper Boar for dinner not long after they opened, and thought it had a lot of potential. So, I was excited to hear they were serving brunch. We all ordered the breakfast sandwich which was pretty delicious. It has a hollandaise sauce, which gives an Eggs Benedict vibe, one of my favorite brunch items. The breakfast potatoes had a great seasoning as well. And it wouldn't be brunch without mimosas...$1 each! The menu is pretty limited, but they noted they are expanding it soon. Definitely worth a try! read more

Love, love, love! The food here is delicious and on its own level in North Liberty. While there are a number of places to grab a respectable bite in town, this restaurant kicks things up a notch. Copper Boar's diverse, yet refined, menu provides elegant options for a variety of palates. Appetizers: We ordered the pork belly and the brussels sprouts. The pork belly paired well with the tangy and fresh cucumber salad that was served alongside it. I personally slobbered over the brussels sprouts, which were some of the best sprouts I've ever had. The gochuhang sauce, cilantro, and mint spoke harmoniously to one another, and the green apple and subtle charring of the sprouts brought the dish home. The portion size for the app was just the right level of generous, too. Entrees: We ordered the Steak Frites and Bucatini Pomodoro. The steak was cooked well and the fries were the right texture. The pommes aligo (cheese mashed potatoes) took some getting used to, but were very tasty in the end. They taste and move more like melted cheese than potato. The bucatini pasta was cooked perfectly and clearly not from a box. The spicy sausage and creamy basil tomato sauce/house crema complemented each other so well that I found myself gearing up to eat the entire dish in one setting. Thankfully, I had some self control and was able to take some home for lunch the next day (which reheated well and tasted just as amazing as it did when fresh). Overall, we really enjoyed our experience as we sat in the patio area next to the fire pit and already look forward to going back again... and again... and again... read more

Overall nice place. I give atmosphere an A - good lighting, clean, and modern. Service was a B+ - waitress was nice, food came fairly quick. Great beer selection. Food C. Seemed to lack flavor? We head the pork belly which was pretty bland and it stuck to the serving plate making it difficult to eat. My personal pizza was the spicy hawaiian, but there really was no "spicy" to it. Could have used either some red pepper flakes or hot honey to spice it up. Otherwise enjoyed the crispy Detroit crust. My husband had Buffalo wings, but neither of us could taste any Buffalo sauce on it. Almost looked like they just seasoned with Buffalo flavoring? We will have to come back and retry, it is still fairly new so maybe with feedback they can impress us next time! read more

Party of 6 for Sunday brunch. We had to wait about 10 minutes before anyone came to table for drink order. Bloody Mary for brunch took another 10+ minutes to get. Didn't seem overly busy, unless they were just shorthanded. Everyone's food was average. Nothing jumped out at us, and maybe would come back for atmosphere, and drinks if in the area. It was also a waitress by "committee" which is sometimes ok, just not today. read more

First time but definitely will not be the last! Food was very fresh. Our waitress told us the meals were all made fresh in house and it showed. My husband got the pepperoni pizza with fresh salad (crust was amazing!) our daughter got the lemon pepper salmon and she said it was one of the best salmon she has ever had. Lastly, I got the Asian chicken salad and oh my, so fresh, filling and good! We also shared cheesecake which was unlike any standard cheesecake we've had, very creamy & flavorful without being overly rich. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive as well. Would definitely recommend and we will be back! read more

I ordered delivery through Door Dash today; as evide,,nced by the images below both dishes were burnt. withso, the berry compote w/ mint was m sing from the dessert. Had they valued their reputation, they woudishe never sent this dishe,s in such a subpar state which was quite disappointing sinceweree parts of, while the cheescake was inedible because the burnt taste permeated through the entire dessert. The only reason I did not give them one star is bc the pizza's middle/parts not burned had good flavor. read more

Upon my arrival I wondered why this place was so dead....now I know why. The "pub fries" were greatly under seasoned, and disgustingly sweet. The bird sauce was so sweet it took over the whole dish. The menu said there was pork belly on this, whatever I received (I believe it was pulled pork, it was nothing like belly) there was less than an ounce. I also ordered a conan's mule. It was burnt. Way too much jim beam, again the sweetness was over powering, and you couldn't taste the strawberry or the raspberry. The bartender gave me good service, though she admitted to messing up two bourbon smashes to the creepy manager that looked pissed off and never stopped pacing the 40 minutes I was there. She also recommended the pub fries so she must not know good food, and now I have trust issues! I gave 2 stars cuz their happy hour deals are good. I would have been pretty pissed if I paid full price for these, $5 miles and half priced draws. My bill was $18 and some change for what you see plus a draw of a sub-par sour. read more

Every time we've been the food has been great! Service is also great! I can't decide if I like brunch or dinner here more.

Service was outstanding. The atmosphere is very casual and comfortable. This is our first time going for brunch. I had high expectations and wanted some really good pancakes. I ended up with the breakfast that included eggs, bacon, and pancakes. Bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly. Pancakes were an overwhelming disappointment. They were dense and tasted a lot like flour and baking powder. My daughter got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were hard and burnt on the outside but fluffy on the inside. Not the best experience. We will certainly give it another try but most likely will order something different. read more
