When I visited Boston on a business trip, I ended up staying in the Copley Inn for about a week and a half. For someone visiting Boston for (essentially) the first time, it was all in all a nice experience. Each hotel room was furnished with a kitchen, complete with a stove and a large fridge. This made it easy to cook my own food instead of being forced to eat out every day, which saved me money and also allowed me to eat organic, wholesome food, and occasionally host guests for dinner.
TV was kind of sparse, but that wasn't really a big deal for me... there's so much to do in Boston; sitting at home and watching TV is kind of a stupid thing to do if you're visiting. Especially if you're at the Copley Inn; there's so much going on, right around the corner! There are at least 3 easily accessible T stops (Prudential, Back Bay, and Copley) and a bunch of food stores (Shaws, for example), restaurants, attractions (the Prudential Center), shopping (at the heart of the super expensive Back Bay shopping district).
While the hotel was definitely not perfect, it was comfortable and clean, and I dont know how much more I could ask for. I was lucky enough to have a room on the first floor right by the door. The large bay windows had to be curtained shut pretty much 100% of the time so that people walking by on the street couldn't look through and see me walking around my room. However, on the upside I didn't have to lug my suitcases up flights of stairs (indeed, there is no elevator.)
I would certainly come back to this place. read more
