I took my 2019 Silverado 1500 in for check engine light. Prior to drop off, Onstar sent me a vehicle diagnostics (photo added) with module and code. The service center charged me $175 for their diagnostic. After 7 hours from my drop off time, I call to receive an update on my vehicle. The technicians did not have a 100% answer for the issue. 1 hour after that, I received a call with an update stating the technician was not confident of the cause and would like to explore more options for possible solutions. The first solution (removing & testing cooling fans) given would cost me an additional $600. If that solution was ineffective, the next solution (wiring harness replacement) would cost me an additional $700 with a total estimated cost of $1,500. I refuse to pay a "certified" dealer those prices for an inexperienced technician who is not confident in his/her work. I am not paying you to guess what my truck issue is. If you don't have anyone that specializes in that department, inform the customer ahead to mitigate wasting time. I will not utilize this dealership for business or services in the future. read more

I cannot in good faith recommend purchasing a car from the Hudson, MA Copeland Chevrolet. We were able to purchase a car by the generosity of a friend and thought ordering what we wanted would be pretty straightforward. It was anything but that. We brought in our list that we had built on the Chevrolet website and a friendly salesman entered our details into the computer, it was approved by the manager, and we made a payment. We were told that three items we ordered would come later, after the car was delivered. Those three items were a cargo net, slash guards (which would be put on when they came in), and all weather floor mats. When we returned later we found the salesman had either quit or was let go, but it seemed things were still going through. It wasn't until later, when we picked up the car, that we were told the slash guards and floor mats were not in the original order even though the cargo net was in the back if the car. This was not true according to our paper, but the manager maintained their position and said he would order them for us at a "price break." Frustrated, we ordered them. A few weeks later we received a check in the mail from Copeland for overpayment. It was roughly the amount we had originally paid for the slash guards and mats. When the two items came in we were told to bring the splash guards with us at our first oil change and they would put them on. That was today. Today my husband was told it would be $200 to put the splash guards on our new car! Needless to say, we did not put them on. These are made specifically for the car we purchased and must be professionally installed. I am highly disappointed by their treatment of us. Not only did they treat us like we did not know what we were doing and questioned our understanding of the facts, but we were passed off from person to person in the process. read more

Bought the Suburban High Country from them. $85K. Have been in multiple times for stupid stuff and every time it takes them half a day or more to look at anything you bring them. My Suburban has an oil consumption problem. Uses a quart of oil every thousand miles. Called this morning for my regular consumption test. "Hi Durand, I would like to come in today at 9:00 for my consumption test. Can I have you do the measurement and get me right out? I have commitments today I need to make." "Sure, come on down for 9:00 we will get you right in and take care of it. Consumption test is easy, just need the truck to sit for a few to allow the oil to settle" Drive 40 minutes. Arrive at 8:58 AM "Here for my consumption test. Can we get my truck right in so the oil can start to settle?" "Sorry sir, we have many cars in front of you. It is going to be a while." "I called this morning, was told by the service manager that you would get it right in." "Sorry sir, it is going to be a while. We are very busy" "What is a while" - "I can't tell you" - "I called, manager said could do it right away" - "Sorry sir, will do the best we can" - "You going to move my car in so it can start to settle the oil" - "No sir, no room for you" Durrand, why do you lie to your customers? Went to Durand Chevy yesterday to look at the green 1998 Chevy S10 with a low 60,000 miles they had for $4k on the lot. I got there and there was a sold tag on the truck. Oldest trick in the book. They claimed that after a month of the truck sitting on the lot, they now had a $100 deposit from another customer just 5 minutes ago. Would have been nice to get a phone call so I would know that I was wasting my time. Sal the salesman began to give me attitude claiming it wasn't his fault that I hadn't received a phone call about the truck having a deposit. I drove 1:30 from Maine to look at the truck. The other customer had "gone to check financing with their bank." Well it was almost 5 o'clock so probably not likely. They called the customer and of course could not get an answer. Right. Sal the salesman was quite unapologetic. He told me he was sorry I wasted my time and that he had nothing else to show me, walking away without a thank you or a hand shake. Mike argued with me over the date of my inquiry on the vehicle. I had entered it the day before and he claimed more than once that it was over 2 weeks ago. I had still given the truck a quick look over and what I found was disturbing. When I asked Sal the salesman about the rust and issues I found, he told me the truck had been driven in Mass winters which are more treacherous than Maine winters. Sal washed his hands from the truck, saying he took it on trade and that's all he knows. If you have a wholesale quality vehicle, sell it wholesale. Otherwise you are just as bad as any other Craigslist con-artist. Within 5 minutes I found numerous issues with the vehicle. The sales team claimed that the truck was in mint mechanical condition, having being recently inspected by their service department. Quickly looking over the 1998 S10 I found... Fairly minimal body rust for a truck from NE although the frame and it's cross members as well as shackles and hangers were very rusted. The body had rust bubbles on each wheel well and the rocker and fender bottom behind the front tires were rotted on both sides. The rear passenger side cab mount was rotted out and you could physically lift or lower the truck off of the frame. Hey Durand! This is a safety issue! It will not pass inspection! The battery in the truck was 5 years old and the alternator appeared to be older as well, if not original. That will leave you stranded. The front main seal on the block was leaking oil all over the bottom of the motor as well as on the frame and the ground below the truck. Wow another reason this truck would not pass inspection. The engine oil was old and hadn't even been changed. The truck had been smoked in and smelled, with burn holes in the seat. It had been through a hail storm and was peppered with dents on it's hood and roof. If I could find these issues with the truck after 5 minutes in the lot I can only imagine what I would find after a month on the road. If that is the quality of vehicle your service department can push out, find some new techs and raise your safety standards a bit. After seeing the heap of a truck they called a $4000 vehicle, I let them know that they were selling an unsafe vehicle to an unknowing buyer and I left. On the way out I said thanks for nothing to the sales crew, to which the sales manager replied, you're welcome. At least he is honest about the expectations at Durand Chevy. BUYER BEWARE. Especially when buying a used car. I'd recommend having a separate shop inspect the vehicle before signing any paperwork at this shoddy dealership. read more

Ive come here a few times for oil changes for my Chevy Colorado. My last visit was to be no different with the exception of getting an interior air filter changed. No biggy right! Well in order to change this filter which is recommended 1x year they have to go through the glove compartment. Take it apart and behind it is the filter. Well while working on it a part broke which Durand let me know and told me they would replace it at no charge. When I went to pick up my truck again they were very apologetic and offered to fix it but I had to bring it back for them to do the fix and they had to order the part. I don't usually come to this end of town unless I really have to and it was not convenient. So they offered to have a technician come to my home to do the fix. I thought perfect, but for my inconvenience they also offered to take off the oil change and deducted from my bill. Which was to be over $100+. Well the day came and could not do it due to their technician being busy but wait for it the actual fix was to take 5 hours, not 20 minutes like i was originally told. I was beyond annoyed but they again offered to drop off a rental and pick up my truck in order to have this done. Overall I took the rental picked up my truck, left the rental at Durand's and everything is perfect again. So, sorry for the long story but had to explain that I totally appreciated Matt's effort at Durand's to make me happy. I would highly recommend anyone to go there and do business. Went in for vibrations from the car and brake noise. They stated brakes were OK yet still hearing the noise. Was told that the vibrations were from a bent rims. Was told that I would require 2 new rims and 2 new tires. I specifically ask why I would need the tires. Gave me an answer that did make sense to me. Decided to get 2nd opinion and glad I did. Yes, 2x rims were bent causing the vibrations but the tires were in "great" shape and had excellent thread. Purchase 4 new rims (design I liked) but kept the same tires for much less cost that the dealer quoted. No more vibration and the car runs great. Durand was going to charge me for 2x new tires I didn't need. Spending money where is not necessary may be good for the dealerships bottom line but not good for customer service. read more

BEWARE!!!!!!!! Purchased a $40k Tahoe with issues that they never disclosed and then when I ask for them to remedy the issue they never responded. Finance department took advantage of us as we were on a time crunch, they added so bogus enviro paint pro and premier guard for a total of $388 (which was never explained as what it covers or what that protection even is). Shame on us for not carefully reviewing the contract but I thought they were a reputable business, but instead they turned out to be dishones. Went in to test drive and price a Equinox and a Trailblazer. While the test drive portion was good enough, things turned nasty once we got to talking costs. We worked with Steve who pushed us very hard towards the Equinox even after we told him didn't like the size. We also inquired into using the friends and family discount since my father-in-law is a retired GM worker. Steve told us that the discount took off about $30 a month from the Equinox, but when it came to the Trailblazer all of a sudden the friends and family discount couldn't be applied because "they are a small dealership", and that they would actually have to add an extra thousand onto the sticker price because of limited inventory and "to keep them in business". It wasn't that limited as he had more Trailblazer coming in later that week. He was incredibly condescending about the friends and family discount saying that "by using it we were hurting my Father-in-laws retirement" & "that the money for the discount had to come from somewhere" "Didn't come from a magic money field" As if Chevy's pension plan hinged on this one sale and was comprised entirely of company stock. This dealership will never receive my business and I recommend that anyone who doesn't wanted to be treated as a child and bilked for their hard earned money to stay away. My wife and I went in with high hopes and came away incredibly frustrated and angry at the way we were treated. read more

I can count the number of negative reviews I've ever written on one hand, but my experience at durand was so comically bad I felt INSPIRED to put pen to paper. First thing's first: F-you Chad, you and your crap eating grin. He took his every action straight from the "Garbage Dealer of America" playbook, from making us sit in the office for 20 minutes while he "spoke to the manager" for a better deal, to changing the price at the last minute. A new car advertised at $14.5k became $18.5k after our extended wait. After asking how, he said we didn't qualify for certain discounts, which were "clearly" itemized online. Now, this is fair enough. They do break down the discounts online, each with a line item attached. What's not fair enough, however, is that they hide the definitions of these line items like their discovery would mean the end of life as we know it. How they hide the details is what pushed me over the edge. As a professional web designer, I could say with absolute certainty that hiding these details behind 2 words that don't stand out, don't look like they can be clicked, and are difficult to notice is, in professional terms, deceptive garbage made by equally deceptive garbage people. Chad's handling of this situation was to sit there, nodding, responding condescendingly that the fine print was there, and that they have some pre-owned options in that price range. I told him we would start looking into those options, but most definitely not at Durand Chevrolet, bait and switch award winners 2018. As a side note, I bought a car here 5 or so years ago and had a great experience. Clearly management and staff has changed drastically, and I'd avoid giving much clout to those older reviews. read more

Visit 1: Brought my car in for a warranty repair and all seemed well until I discovered an oil leak within few days of getting my car back. Mind you this car was very well taken care of (bone dry) and even the service manager himself commented on the great condition of the car. They had the car for a week. Never offered a loaner and I didn't realize that one was available to me as it was under warranty repair (lesson learned). Visit 2: Stopped by few days later and told them about the oil leak, but didn't believe me as the pan was dry (told them that I wiped it down over the weekend) and to come back if/when it's wet as may be "residual" oil from the original repair. Visit 3: Vehicle left for an oil pan gasket repair as now the pan is wet again (shocker). I questioned that it may be the crankshaft seal as it seems to be leaking from the front of the motor and running down the pan, and also why the gasket wasn't replaced in the first place, as the original repair involved removing the oil pan. Couldn't get a straight answer. Had the car for several days (this time a loaner vehicle was provided), and assured me that it was the oil pan gasket, that they even checked the pan for warpage and went as far as running dye through the motor and found zero leaks. Visit 4: And back again as it still leaks and also noticed that it appeared someone tried stealing my rear diffuser (washed the car before I brought it in the last time and am 100% that the scratch marks from what appears to be a large screwdriver being used as a pry bar were NOT there). Oil leak turned out to be the crankshaft seal (shocker) and no solution on the diffuser as they are not responsible for vehicle left on their property. Had the car for several days. Visit 5: Stopped by as it still leaks under heavy acceleration and am told that it's once again "residual". Left and called GM who asked me to bring it back for last time. Visit 6: Fixed the dip stick which was cracked (coincidentally the dip stick had to be removed for visits 1 and 3). Had the car for several days. Back in love with my car but NEVER going back here! I'm a degreed mechanical engineer and a gear head and can only imagine what kind of bs a person who isn't mechanically inclined would have gone through or paid for this nonsense. (I paid $0.00 unless you count the time in which case it was $$$ LOT $$$) read more

I live near Hartford CT and spend a lot of time in Worcester. I accidentally found online that Durand was offering a closeout sale on 2019s. Memorial Day weekend, I called and spoke to Larry T about a Blazer I liked.... I was supposed to see him a few days later on the holiday, but was too excited and couldn't wait. I headed down to the dealership and found Larry, who offered me an amazing deal and was willing to stay late to help me. The CT DMV is closed, and services are very delayed. I had a lot of concern and questions, and Larry was patient with me and worked hard to help satisfy my fears and my needs. Worst dealership I have ever dealt with. Bought a brand new truck and they did not even prep it before I picked it up. Empty tank and the DEP tank for diesel engine was empty. Plus I got a service engine light on right after i bought it. Brought it in and they said they have to order the part. Now Onstar told me that I would most likely drive on reduced power because of it. Durand service did not even care. I also told them about millions of white dots all over the plastic cowl under the wipers. They never touched it. So I took it home and parked it because it could not be driven like that. You could step on the pedal and nothing the truck would just sit there then it would take off like a rocket a few seconds later. Try driving in traffic with that. But no loaner. I took it back in when the part came in and again asked them to clean the cowl. Again I got the truck back with nothing fixed. Was told wrong part was ordered. I called the General manger and he left a message on my phone that I still have and said that the truck was prepped and the white dots were something I must of picked up on the road. He never looked at the truck. My wife & i are retired and I worked 35 years a a auto body man. Tell me something how do you get white dots all over a cowl that is under the windshield wipers. They were no were else. He called my wife & I a liar. He was very abusive on the phone not allowing me to talk to the point i asked him outright was he was being such a A_ _ HOLE and he hung up and now says I used foul language to him so they no longer wanted our business. We buy a new truck every three years. The cowl had polishing compound on it and it took me $15.00 in materials and 3 hours to clean it. He Also sent us a check for $100.00 for the empty tank & no DEP. because remember they do not send out trucks unprepared. They never even put there sign on the back like they always do. They told me they checked the DEP before giving us the truck. He must have a magic stick because there is no way to check the level. The on board computer only lets you know when its going to need filling up. I put 2 gallons in myself. I took it to another dealer and they gave me a brand new truck to drive and had to keep it for a week to only find out the the service tech at Durand broke a pin in the sensor that Durand replaced and damaged. There loss because I found a real dealership and will be buying my next truck there. The owner of Durand needs to keep a better watch on who works for him. I bought a 2015 from there and the service again was very sub par. Go else where because there really is a lot better out then then that place. Just because there small does not mean there good. Salesman was great but everything after that was just down right poor service. I would not even let them change my oil. Please shop around before you go there. Very pleased with the service I received from Durand. Went in on a Friday at 615 just browsing little did I know that they closed at 6. Found the perfect SUV I was looking for. Saw a sales guy walking across the parking lot probably not happy at all that I was asking a million questions me not knowing they were actually closed. Brian Butka was AWESOME he never led on that they were closed and ready to go home. Now its after 630 and I want to test drive the car. It wasn't until I walked inside and noticed that the place was so quiet and lights were off that it registered that they were closed. Brian never said a word to me. I finally turned to him and said oh my god Im that person Im so sorry. I have to say whether he was mad or not for staying late I would have never known cause he never stopped being professional. He brought me on a test drive and put the vehicle on hold till I returned from vacation that next Friday. Brian B made my purchase easy and stress free. Never pushy and such a great guy to work with. Very disappointed! Before making the hour plus trip each way I specifically asked if their Yukon had a clean car fax, and I was told it did. Then, while test driving on the highway there was significant vibration. Brian kept reassuring me it was due to the tires being new...Later, I learned that the truck had been hit and the car fax wasn't clean. They did apologize stating that they confused this truck with another truck on the lot, but it felt like they were just trying to play it off. I had not purchased a new car in many many years, so needless to say, I was new again to the process. The salesman, Mark, was great. He was not pushy, showed me exactly what I wanted to see and only what I wanted. Explained the process, made it easy and he was patient. I stalled a bit here and there before I pulled the trigger and he was a nice as can be about it. Very happy with the car so far, and we will have to see what happens when I go in for any service, but I've heard good things and I have no doubts it will be just fine. read more

Brought my car in couple of months back after some issues and service guys replaced the transmission with a new one. Everything seemed fine but a month ago, speedometer stopped working, and car stalled on the road once. We brought it in and they ran a FULL diagnosis analysis and said car was perfectly fine (which is weird because car stalled). We took car back and 2 days later, car had fumes coming from hood and coolant was spewing everywhere. Took it back to the repairshop and asked them what happened especially since they ran a full diagnosis report. They still stood by their claim that everything was fine but now due to coolant spill, we had to replace heater hose because it had cracks (car is only 4 years old btw). We asked how they did not see this during diagnosis and they said it happened suddenly (weird because it was literally 2 days after the diagnosis and the car barely ran 20 miles. A week goes by and car stalls multiple times on the road, engine light on, speedometer stops working so we bring it in..again. This time they refused to work on our car because we did not pay their bill..supposedly. Which is extremely untrue because we paid everything they billed us for and the rest was covered under warranty. So then we brought our car to Herb Connolly Chervolet in Framingham. They looked at the car right away and told us that when Durand replaced the transmission, they installed it incorrectly! Which is why all this has happened. So they replaced transmission for free. But because it already damaged the car, they had to replace radiator and coolant. All because durand service techs did not bother taking the time to look at the car. They supposedly did a full diagnosis check, which they clearly did not do, and charged us $110. So never ever going to this place again and most definitely filing a complaint against them. These service techs clearly think they can play everyone for a fool since the norm does not know much about servicing a car. read more

I made an appointment to go look at a brand new truck when I got there they told me someone pulled it to look at tit just now. I waited for two hours and decided to go inside and try to reschedule they told me that my sale was not important and if I wanted to walk away they didn't care. I asked if I could find another dealership around and they told me to google it instead of helping me find it. The next day the manager calls me and I tell him what happened and he starts to argue with me. Then he has the nerve to try and sell me the truck I told him good luck and hung up. Got a car from durand. Not even 6 months later the brakes are getting stuck in the roters. I bring it back and was treated terribly by staff who said the issue would "hopefully" not happen again. Another 6 months go by and the engine of said car overheats. With 40,000 miles on it and all regular maintenance up to date. Durand told me, despite buying the extended warranty, it would cost $1800 to fix. When I brought up having an extended warranty they hung up and would not pick up the phone when I called. I received a voicemail saying it would be no charge and to pick the car up whenever. They couldn't explain where the original price came from and why it was ever told to me over the phone. Rudest customer service, especially from the people on the sales floor (who only give you the time of day if you are going to give them some commission). They will never receive my business again and I would advise others to follow suit. read more
