I thought this was simply a regular ice cream stand, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have quite a variety of flavors. They blend these flavors to order, which is pretty neat and you can get any combination of flavors that you want. I tried the banana coconut and it was absolutely delicious - easily one of the best ice cream cones that I've ever tried. That being said, a small blended cone costs about $4, which is definitely way overpriced and the reason for knocking off a star. I would definitely recommend their ice cream, but beware that the prices are a bit steep; you get quality ice cream, but you definitely pay for it. read more

We were participating in a baseball tournament at Cooperstown Dreams Park -- and the Penguin became a daily stop for us.... Delicious ice cream with nearly infinite choices. I had chocolate with maple walnut -- scrumptious! Spouse has a small fudge sundae and it was sizable. Beautiful setting with comfortable picnic tables (covered outdoor seating also available). We stopped in for a sweet treat on our first evening in Cooperstown. Corn hole sets, ping pong tables, and impromptu wiffle ball game keep kids and adults entertained while others sit and visit and enjoy the food. Adult beverages also available but we were just there for the ice cream. We will be back tomorrow. read more

This is by far on off the BEST restaurants in Cooperstown. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is so fun! The salsa is fantastic and the bbq chicken the best! This is seriously the best ice cream I've ever had! The only problem is that it was ruined me for all other ice cream ever. You start with either chocolate or vanilla ice cream and pick up to 3 mix-ins. My favorite combo was cookie dough, cheesecake, walnut in vanilla on a cone. Affordable too. I'd get a junior for like $3. Junior was the perfect size for me and made it so I could come back Every day. Lol. But seriously, we went here 5 times during our trip to Cooperstown for my son's baseball tournament. The service was amazingly nice too. Clean benches and tables. Absolutely loved my first visit here. The gentleman working the window was very nice in explaining how ordering works and also some combination recommendations. The ordering process was easy and my ice cream concoction was made quickly. It's kind of like a Cold Stone Creamery in that they blend the ice cream with add-ins and each order comes with three add-ins. I would have given this a much higher grade as the ice cream is OK. However I asked for peanut butter cup with chocolate ice cream. The 1st time I received peanut butter pieces. He said they were the same thing so I sent it back. Then he came back the 2nd time and it was still Reese's pieces and not peanut butter Cup. When I sent it back the 2nd time, he tried to tell me that the Reese's peanut butter cup and pieces were close together so sometimes a get mixed. The search time I had a lady make it and she got it right with no Reese's pieces mixed in. read more
