This place is great. Simon's a great guy. He is very easy to talk to and very honest. I brought my car in because my A/C wasn't cold anymore. Called and made an appointment easy. I get there and Simon is there waiting. He greats me and I tell him what's wrong and he says he'll take a look at it. I leave my car and go to work. I get a call in the afternoon and he explains what's wrong. Long story short, my evaporator was bad and leaking and with parts and labor it was gonna cost almost $2,000 to fix. I told him it was too much and that it's ok. He said he charged it up but doesn't know how long it will be cold for. He said hopefully it can last maybe 6 months. Fingers crossed. I brought in my car because my AC wasn't working. I was charged $80 (fair amount) to have it diagnosed and was told that I had to replace my compressor and the signal connecting the AC to the compressor wasn't worked. I was quoted $1100 to repair my AC. When I asked further questions about the compressor, the guy wouldn't answer my questions and kept going round in circles about the connection. RED FLAG!! So I went on YouTube and searched for AC repair. Saw a clip about replacing a relay switch in the fuse box. Long story short and $20 later...I fixed my own AC!!!!! It's been about 4 months since I replaced the switch and I haven't had any AC issues. I can't believe these guys were going to charge me $1100 for a $20 part!!! My advice is go elsewhere. Honest mechanics are hard to find. They don't deserve the 1 star rating. read more

I am so glad I stopped in to get my AC checked! Simon spent about 20 minutes troubleshooting why one side was blowing hot and one side was blowing cold. He came up with a great (affordable ) "work around" that would get my cold air back on both sides and said he could do it tomorrow as it was already late. Super nice guy and didn't try to take me advantage of my situation by selling me on something I didn't need. I highly recommend Simon and Steve, these guys are great. My 2008 Mercury A/C diverter doors were frozen on defrost and they were able to perform a low cost fix without ripping out the entire dash at great expense. They also noticed that the radio had bad reception and restored the antennae while in the area. They even added a little gas because it was on low. Many thanks! read more

Just picked up my 1999 Toyota van from Simon at Cool Tech because the AC went out a couple of weeks ago. Took it in at 7:30 this am and Simon called me back a couple of hours later to tell me the evaporator under the dash was leaking. He said he had a replacement evaporator in stock as well as all the other parts needed to fix my van which was surprising considering it is 20 years old. He estimated it would cost a little over $1000 and I said to go ahead with the work. Simon called me at 4:30 and told me my van was fixed and blowing cold air again. He also said he gives a 1 year warranty on the work. He showed me the parts he replaced and even cleaned the inside with air freshener because the leaking Freon left an odor. My total bill came out less than the $1000 he quoted me and I was impressed by his knowledge and the great service he provided. I would highly recommend Cool Tech if you have any AC problem. Good honest guys. My AC in my 2007 car was blowing hot air. I received an estimate of $600-something to change a part. I must've made a sound of disappointment. Simon then asked me how long since I last refilled freon. After telling him it was about a year, he suggested that if $80/year refill works for me, he recommended I simply get a refill if I'm willing to take a chance. Eventually the part could be replaced if we really need/want to. Easy to talk to these guys, not pushy or overbearing. This is my new go to place for AC issues, found on Yelp. Awesome. read more

Awesome...can't say enough great things about these guys! I am so pleased I had taken my car here for A/C service. Simon and Steven were very informative, even though I didn't want to hear that my A/C compressor went out. I was hoping more for a simple problem, like a basic recharge or more coolant needed. Of course that wasn't the case...I needed a new compressor. They were very honest which put me so much at ease since I'm always a little hesitant about going to new mechanics (I've come across bad wolves before who take advantage because I am a female). They weren't pushy at all and let me think about the recommendation before deciding to place the order for the part. That shows someone, a business, who is not desperate for work; and I can see why these guys are not desperate for work....people must be breaking doors down to take their car here. My car's dash board started to light up over the weekend and it shook when the car slowed down. I called at 7:45am before they even opened today and sure enough someone answered the phone! They were able to get me in right away 8:30am (I work right down the road, so it is easy for me to have someone drop me off) and they fixed me up with no problem at 2:30pm. Very satisfied customer! Called in the morning and was able to make an appointment on a Friday afternoon of the same day. I replaced the AC compressor in my 2004 Vw Jetta and just needed the evac and recharge. The guys were very helpful in making sure I used the correct PAG oil in the compressor. I showed up, gave them the keys and went to they gym for an hour. Came back and the car was complete. My short story begins with a dead battery. I had AAA jump start 2001 Honda Odyssey & off to Sam's for a replacement. Replacement made within hours, then back home to the garage. As our 2nd vehicle, I ran the van twice a week as recommended by Sam's tech to keep charging the battery. The AAA tech noticed a little smoke & I could smell what appeared to a burning oil odor. Called Simon at Cool Tech and arranged to drop off the van Friday morning. During our initial conversation at their shop, I mentioned the AAA tech & the battery issue I had. He called me in the afternoon that day and informed me, No repairs were necessary as there is a leak but a small manageable one! He advised monitor & call him if it gets worse. He asked if I needed the van over weekend, I said no. As part of his services, he checked the battery & offered to do a slow re-charge of the battery. I picked up the van on Monday.
