We had David from Cool Geekz install a flatscreen TV above our stack stone fireplace. The issue was that stacked stone doesn't have a straight mortar line and we didn't want holes drilled in the stones. I hired David on two separate occasions to mount TVs on my walls. The first TV was fine, although David cut some unnecessary holes in my wall and my sound bar is still crooked to this day. I hired him again to mount another TV in my bedroom because, among professional TV mounters, his prices quotes seemed among the lowest. For my bedroom TV, David started drilling holes before we even had a chance to discuss the desired height. After he finished, I mentioned that the TV was too low. About a year later (in the interim trying to avoid people entering my home during a pandemic) I asked David about the possibility of raising the TV a couple of feet. He curtly quoted me a price that was almost the same price as the initial installation (including adding an electrical plug behind the TV). I then discovered Task Rabbit and had someone raise the TV for a fraction of the price as Cool Geekz. I wish I had done that from the very beginning. I just wish I could give Cool Geekz 6 stars!!! After I called three security outfits to get estimates on installing 6-8 security cameras, everyone (except David King of Cool Geekz) arrived and wanted to first talk about me switching to their alarm monitoring service. Everyone (except David King) said it would take at least 2 technicians 8 to 10 hours to install 6 cameras. And everyone except David swore there was no significant difference between the entry-level 1080dpi cameras and the much higher resolution 4K cameras (note: 4k cameras offer more digital information so that when an image or video is zoomed/enlarged it will still provide enough digital information to ensure images and video are sharp and enough to identify useful features and details - which is what security images and video is all about). With David's advice, I wound up purchasing eight vari-focal, audio-capable 4K cameras (bullet and dome styles) and a 3 Terabyte NVR directly from the manufacturer. David scheduled me promptly, arrived on time, and single-handedly installed, set up, tested everything, and cleaned up - in just over 6 hours! And Cool Geekz gave me such a fair price that I saved $1,600 over the next cheapest quote and $3,600 off of the most expensive quote (both from larger companies with more name brand recognition). In addition to fair pricing, David was pleasant, very well informed and shared great insight and advice without any pushy sales. All of Cool Geekz 5-star reviews are very well deserved. read more
