Wow, talk about crashing and burning. We had just a terrible experience, on top of that, we had guest from out of town and it was a birthday meal for them..... Arriving at 5:15 pm, the place was empty. In the past, the small high top tables and chairs were to small for my wife and I as we order a lot of food.... With four people, we tried to sit at the big table in front of the bar. A young man, that has been our server before and always awesome, told us in a rude way that it was only reserved for parties of five or more. But, wait ---- No one was in the restaurant......We explained that we were here to eat and each of us were going to order two rolls. He was short and snotty, said we could not sit there. Okay....... We ordered and had to use the indoor outdoor bar beside our table for all the rolls as each roll was brought out on a plate, eight plates, drinks and water on our table would not fit. About six pm, what do you know, three young ladies were sitting at the table reserved for parties of five or more, they had drinks for 45 minutes before ordering an app. Glad they were accommodated. Sucks to be us. We complained and to be fair, our server, who apologized comped our last round of drinks... The sushi rolls just did not cut it..... The meat to rice ratio was not at a normal ratio, these were more like rice rolls. I ordered the Awesome Roll and it was supposed to have Eel, it had maybe a sliver of eel with a giant piece of avocado. Not what I was expecting. The other seven rolls were just your typical mediocre average rolls that you can find at any average sushi spot in the U.S. On top of that, did you notice I said seven rolls? I did say earlier, our party of four would order two rolls each.... One roll was misplaced, like never showed up, except for on the bill. This was rectified, but still come on. I did email my concerns to the email on their website and had no response. Hey, I get it, not every meal is a home run and sometimes the sushi chief has a bad night, but after my stellar reviews and raving how great this spot is to our friends, it was kind of embarrassing.......... read more

This place fell off big time. Used to have good sushi but now they just have lame rolls that don't seem fresh. Cant take a sushi place seriously when they selling cheese sticks and wings lmao read more

Delicious!! I've passed by this place many times and finally decided to stop. I'm so glad I did. I was having a self-care date with myself so after my massage I popped in. I was immediately greeted and told I could choose a seat. It was around 4pm so there were only a few other guests there. They brought me a water right away (which I needed after the massage lol). I ordered a drink first. I decided on the old fashioned. It was pretty good. The menu has tons of options so it was hard to decide. I ended up choosing the Cool Fish Crunch Roll and the Vegan Mango Roll. Both were phenomenal! The wasabi sauce on the CFC roll was amazing!! Wish I could bottle it and take it home. Service, food, and atmosphere were all great. I will definitely be back. read more

This place is a cool little sushi joint. I tasted 4 different types of Specialty Rolls and honestly they all we winning. The Awesome Roll would have to be my favorite. The Seaweed Salad was crisp and fresh with great flavor. The Cocktail selection was plentiful. I handled the Hot Sake it was the perfect balance with my meal. read more

Bartender was very friendly but the food was like left over take out from the day before. Bar chairs are terrible. Overrated. Sorry

Our favorite spot in Cornelius. Great food, great ambience, great drinks. I guess sometimes the servers aren't super attentive, so if that stuff matters to you that may be the only downside. read more

Really love this place. The menu has a variety of options with food and drinks. The sushi was great however the Korean short ribs appetizer was the bomb. The DJ added to the mellow mood. The staff was casually dressed which added to the relaxing atmosphere. read more

Nice little hole in the wall near downtown Cornelius. Went late on a Tuesday night. Got a few apps, rolls, and sake. Top tier sushi, very flavorful. Apps were decent. Server suggested a sake to us and ended up being delicious. Overall great experience! read more

I really enjoyed my wasabi sushi roll. However, my party did not have as good of an experience. My boyfriends food came out burnt, and his mother's food was flavorless. Moreover, she ordered a seafood bowl and there was only shrimp in it... is it then just a shrimp bowl or was there more seafood left out? My boyfriend did have his bowl sent back and when it came back the sauce did not come on it. When the waitress asked how he liked it and he said it was flavorless she mentioned "oh you should have ordered extra sauce" and brought it out-- however, the sauce should have come on the dish to begin with. Furthermore, our food all came out at a different time with at least 15 minutes in between. My boyfriends mother also pointed out how the waitress did not ever once apologize for the many missteps. Although we recognize she isn't in the kitchen, it leaves a better impression to seem to care that the guests are having a good experience. The manager did come out and offer us a free dessert however we were not interested and they did comp my boyfriends meal. read more

Our first time here. It might have been our last. We ordered a bulgogi bowl and it wasn't good. The meat was tough and some of the vegetables weren't cooked properly. We also ordered some various sushi and rolls. The sushi and the rolls were good however the service left a lot to be desired. We started with one waitress, but never saw her again. Instead we were handed off to at least three other servers, causing a 20 minute delay in our last item ordered. So, the sushi was good, the bulgogi bowl wasn't, and the service wasn't very good. read more

The Key To longevity in a restaurant is great customer service. When you hire kids from the college, where their rich parents made them get a job, will be the difference between repeat customers or im never spending $60 bucks here again for wings. When i paid and got outside, two lovely couples asked me about whether or not they should go there or next door. I said "Eh", they were like ok thanks. There is one trillion restaurants around you. Give them warm and fuzzy. I thought it was because we were black, but the young guy at the door treated everyone like he was Lurch from the Adams Family. Get some happy staff. read more

Great and creative combos of flavors in the rolls. Fun atmosphere, on some evenings there's a DJ spinning. Totally recommended!

Service was amazing. Food and sushi was incredible and best in the area 100%. If you are in LKN or Charlotte, you have to try Cool Fish. This place is a so great for a night out with friends and a glass of wine. Or, their cocktails are amazing too. read more

We walked in and hostess acted like she did not want to seat us. The waitress didn't have good customer service, she got our drink order and brought out the wrong drink. She took it back and we didn't see her for about 15 mins. Place was not busy, we went around 830 pm. Waiter was talking at the bar and kept going back and forth eating. We left the money and walked out. I would not recommend this place if you want to do a date night read more

After receiving a meassage for "Buy one poke bowl get one free" had to check the place out. Being late in the afternoon the place was empty at fitst then a few people started coming in so I started asking questions. Wednesday is for ladies with half priced rolls, now if that isn't enough to get you through the doors their also serving up Prosseco for $2.95 a glass! Prosseco is yummy the bubbles are smaller and not as dry as champagne. In my book bubbles are always a great way to start an evening. Tuesday, three tacos for $3.95 choices are steak, chicken, shrimp or marinated pork belly served in corn tortillas. The poke bowls I liked them. They are simply dressed with large chunks of fresh fish. Mine had tuna, yellow tail and escolar in it a spicy mango salsa, red onion, sliced cucumber and ginger. Know they do have beer taps and liquor not sure about sake. read more

Okay I am sorry but $120 for 5 rolls!! This owner is smoking something!! Sushi was average, not like one of the fancy places in Manhattan or Charlotte ! When we got the check the Phili rolls for a 6 piece was $12 !!! My jaw dropped when I saw that! Food came out fast but our waitress was no where to be found. Do you self a favor and go to Sabi in davidson , way better , great ambiance and better prices! read more

First time here and I tried a few things like the Crab Balls, Korean Short Ribs, and a Sushi Roll. I have to say I enjoyed all of it and will definitely be back to try some more. Also bonus points for a sign I saw that said they serve food until 2am - that's awesome since I feel like most places close pretty early around here. read more

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. They spoke very highly of it. Service was good. Food was fresh but it wasn't super flavorful. We ordered two sushi rolls, the loaded spring rolls (which were actually really good), chicken and waffles sandwich sliders, and the pork buns (which were also pretty good and fresh). We weren't super impressed by the rolls or the sandwich sliders. They lacked the flavor we were looking for. Overall it was pretty average. read more

We have been to Cool Fish many times and have always had a different experience. No consistency With service. We have walked out due to a rude waitress and we have had great servers. Last night was just awful. Love the DJ but not on high volume at 630 pm. We had a group of 6 and we could not hear anything that was being said - including the 24 year olds in our group, so it wasn't just an age thing. our waitress was kind but in the weeds. We waited to order, waited for drinks for food and for check. We were there over 2 hours just to get sushi. The food is always great but the experience a different story. So long Cool Fish! read more

This place should be ashamed service is horrendous! Not one person said hello, just handed us menus, which took 15 minutes. Took 30 minutes to ask what we wanted to order. Placed an order of cheese curds never came out. Not one person that worked for Cool Fish even had a smile on their face. Won't be back... not a good experience... read more

Food and service were excellent. One of my new favorite places to eat. Korean BBQ was super.

I visited today for lunch. I ordered a sashimi poke bowl. My order came out quickly, beautifully presented, and exceeded my expectations. Top notch quality with a delicious flavor combination. Service was great, sat at the bar and was checked on multiple times. Great vibe. Plenty of tvs, huge draft list featuring great craft selections. DJ setup in the corner which I'm told will feature nightly rotating DJs. Plenty of different seating options; low soft seating, bar height seating next to roll up garage doors, large patio, etc. I'll be back, great addition to the area. read more

Meh One star because they are open late and another for the DJ and cool vibe. May grab a beer and appetizer, but if you're looking for legit sushi, this isn't it. The server literally had to unpeel the menu stuck to the bar, then handed it to me. A clean one would have been appreciated. I ordered: NOT YOUR TYPICAL POTSTICKERS DUCK, CREAM CHEESE AND CORN DUMPLING These were like deep fried perogies and the duck was not detected. Tasty, but not anything resembling a dumpling. HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY ROLL SHRIMP TEMPURA AND AVOCADO, TOPPED WITH CRAB SALAD This roll made me neither happy nor joyous. Breaded shrimp is not shrimp tempura. Avocado shouldn't be brown. The crab salad was dry. read more

Food was good, service was good, and ambiance was good too. Our only problem was that the restaurant was very cold because they have roll up doors in the back and one was open. Several people moved from the tables close to the open door and most of the patrons in the restaurant kept jackets on, a guy at the bar put on his toboggan. Read the room, and try to make your customers comfortable. read more

I used to love this restaurant. Three in our party who ate the sushi contracted food poisoning. Called to let the manager know and they brushed it off as not possible. Beware. read more

Ok In fairness the food is good, there wouldn't be any complaints except for the fact that the service was absolutely horrible. First we stood in the doorway and waited for someone up seat us, that never happened. Then we went to look for a seat and the server, age about 16, asked us what we were doing. We decided to just sit at the counter , another mistake. We finally ordered, no set ups, warm water, forgot our appetizer, ( but charged us) Forgot our drinks ( but charged us) forgot our entry ( we finally got it) We received three checks before the amount was finally correct. The owner did comp our drinks ( but they were still on the bill ) All in all a really terrible experience. Would not return if the food was free. read more

My adult daughter and I visited Cool Fish for the first time recently and really enjoyed it. It is a small restaurant with a cool atmosphere. The attentive servers were great. Everything on the menu sounded appealing. I got the salted edamame and pork buns, which were both delectable. My daughter got the ramen bowl, which she rated as outstanding. We didn't get any fancy or exotic drinks, just iced tea, which was quite good. Prices are fairly reasonable. Try it! read more

This place used to be good, not sure what happened.. they definitely need to redo the speciality rolls imo! Not many options and everything is spicy this or Jalapeño that so must be what the owner likes lol. chicken waffles, french fries and cheese sticks seem super weird for a sushi spot. Everytime I've been here lately I honestly have to make my own roll to be somewhat satisfied. read more

We went in for our first visit to celebrate the parental units anniversary. We were seated right away and greeted by Ross. He was a great server who kept us engaged, listened to what our likes were and made some great recommendations. There was water immediately and the food and drinks were served quickly. The food was great! The sushi was fresh. The bulgogi bowl was wonderful and Ross even brought a fried cheesecake to celebrate my parents anniversary. My Dad got what he called, "the best margarita he's ever had (he gets a margarita whenever we are out to dinner)." This is definitely a place we will go back to again and again. read more

I came on a Friday for lunch and it wasn't too busy. Food came out quick. I ordered the LNM roll and spicy edamame. Everything was good.

Service: 5/5 Food: 4/5 (decent selection between Korean and Japanese cuisine. Great sushi) Drinks: 4/5 Seating: 2/5 (very small and tall seat, if you're wearing shorts, knee length dresses or skirts, you're screwed. Those seats hurt as it digs into your skin and leave deep marks after you get up lol) Location: 5/5 Price: $$ out of $$$$$ (not so bad) Overall: 4/5 Food and service didn't "wow" me but I still recommend it. read more
