Got the Bogy, the Marilyn, Fries and Onion rings. Burgers were okay. Packed well with ingredients and a chunky patty and tasted well made, but lacked flavor (especially for $20 each). We arrived in Ka'anapali late in the afternoon and walked over to Whalers Village to find something to eat. There were long long lines at all the sit-down restaurants, plus we didn't want to spend a lot of money for a quick dinner, so went downstairs to the little food court and found item we'd both be happy with at Cool Cat Express. My husband ordered the Luna burger $19 (lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, dressing, mayo Jack cheese bacon & avocado) and I ordered the vegetarian Dream Lover burger $17 (taro burger, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, mayo, Jack cheese & Ortega chile) Sides are extra, so we skipped getting fries. We had forgotten to bring our water bottles and noticed they charged $1 for a cup of water and an additional $1 for each refill. We decided to take our food back to our condo before eating. As it was, all orders are packed to-go but there are tables in the area to eat there. Our burgers were quite tasty but the buns did not hold up to the weight and moisture of the burgers. First night in Maui, we were looking for a very casual place to eat dinner. This area of Whalers village is very casual. It is on the bottom floor of Whalers village. We ended up getting a salad from one of the other vendors. My hubbie was still hungry , so ordered the Marilyn burger. Wow, it was soo good, we will be back later in the week. With a brag sign they have been voted Maui's Best Burger since 2004, I gotta have a burger. I chose the one that seemed most Hawaiian in that it included a slice of pineapple. Apologies if I sound like some tourist, because I am. The burger was called the Don Ho, and along with pineapple it has bacon, BBQ sauce, and cheese. And it was a very good sandwich. They also offer milkshakes, both specialty and build your own. I did spend time considering but finally decided to pass, this has already been a calorie laden trip. It did sound so good though. My order taker was very nice and we chatted for a minute. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Perfect fast food joint in in very close proximity to the resort we are staying at however if you choose to drive whalers village has a huge parking lot the charges by the hour. Super filling burgers, full of flavor and just an overall hit the spot kind of meal. My son ordered the Don Ho cheeseburger and we ordered the Hula chicken burgers. We ordered only one small fry and we all shared it this was enough for all of us. All items are à la carte so fries do not come with any meal. Our total meal was around $60.00 We did not get milkshakes but they did look delicious so we might have to try one soon. Overall if your looking for a quick meal to fill you up so you can stay in the go this is a good spot nothing super gourmet but still flavorful and fast! Service was great cashier was kind. This place needs no introduction. A Front Street loved restaurant that has found a new express corner at Whaler's Village food court. (Main restaurant now in Kihei) The favorites for burgers, chicken burgers, salads, milkshakes and of course the frings are all available to fill your hungry beach/ hiking bellies. I am so glad they brought Cool Cats to the Lahaina side of the island. We use to go to Kihei for Cool Cats and now it is closer to our resort. The food is excellent!!! You can sit indoors or outdoors. The service fast and friendly. They are pricey but it is worth it. We will definitely go back. read more

Two stars! Why would a good establishment get popped for an unsatisfactory rating? 1. The cheese burger was like something you would fix at home and I mean that as a compliment. Generous patty, fresh bun, good cheese, generally a home cooked burger. Fries/onion rings were tasty but a tad greasy. Service at first seemed good but then the two stars kick in. I was charged $24.00 for burger and fries/rings. When my cc came up to sign, the tip amount had the "no tip" box which I clicked because I always pay with a $5 bill for this meal in the bucket. While I was waiting for burger, I looked at my bill and they had charged me $3.60 tip even though I had clicked no tip. After I got my burger, I confronted them and they said they had no control of charges. After telling me this 3 times she said she would call to get permission to refund $3.60. I said no and told her I always throw 5 dollar bill in the bucket, the tech guy cost her $1.40. This all sounds cheesy to gripe about but it seems to be a trend in the food industry.LOOK AT YOUR BILL BEFORE YOU LEAVE! Mar.29 Incident has been resolved. I'm sorry I didn't take photos, but wasn't expecting to leave a review. I had the Bogy Burger. It was great. Cooked to a perfect medium, with fresh and sloppy toppings, all in a good way. Hard to get me to do many burger reviews, but this one was worth it. The onion rings were great, and the accompanying ranch was outstanding. Wow. Just wow. I honestly may have had one of the best burgers of my life here. I ordered The Duke, and I don't remember the last time I had a burger this juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Every bite was packed with bold flavor -- easily one of the top five burgers I've ever eaten, and trust me, I've eaten a lot of burgers over the years. The onion rings were excellent as well -- crispy, fresh, and the perfect complement to the burger. What makes this even more impressive is that this is an express location. They used to have a restaurant on Front Street, and it would be amazing to see them come back with a full sit-down restaurant -- whether in the Cannery Mall, somewhere on Kaanapali Beach, or a neighboring area where people can truly sit down and enjoy these burgers the way they deserve. 5 stars without hesitation. Was walking around Whalers Village and found this place. Down on the lower level in the food court area. I'm assuming it's part of Cool Cats as they had similar food offerings as the old Cool Cats. The onion rings were phenomenal! Milkshakes were yummy! I had the Hula Chicken sandwich and the kid had the Duke. Multiple napkins were required. And the prices were very reasonable. read more

Cool Cat Cafe was a Front Street staple for many years. We visited every trip to Maui from 2018. Since that was 2-4 times a year, we knew it well. You all know what happened in 2023. When Cool Cat opened in Kihei we were fortunate to be there on the third day. Now, the westside at least has Cool Cat Express, located in Whaler's Village. There are a few differences from what you may know but they are not deal breakers by any means. This is essentially a stripped down version of the old, and Kihei, locations. The menu has fewer of the old burgers, but several are still to be had. I was really looking forward to a Blue Suede Shoes, but sadly, it did not make the cut....at least for now. I opted for The Marilyn, another of my old favorites. It was just as good as before! While I did not order the onion rings, I have been told they are as good as ever. My vanilla shake was as good as ever. As of 8-12-25, they do not have alcohol of any kind. I did not ask if they are waiting for a license or not. This place ROCKS! I was blown away by The Marilyn Burger, everything was spot on!, the bun was fantastic and the thousand island dressing was delicious, and such a value! If you're in Lahaina in Maui head down to The Whaler's Village. It's primarily pricey restaurants but if you're not in the mood to drop a hundred dollars for a meal for two, head further in and go downstairs to the area called "casual dining". Lots of great places to eat but if you want a great burger, check out Cool Cat, hopefully you'll run into Carly she's super helpful and will hook you up with a great burger! read more

Shoutout Cool Cat Express for feeding everyone during the tsunami warning. Everything shut down immediately and a lot of people looking for dinner. The Duke burger was very good. The onion ring in it was nice and crunchy and you could still bite through it and not drag the whole onion ring out, allowing you to get some in most bites. The side of fries was pretty large - enough for 2-3 people read more
