Cool Beans Comedy is awesome! Corey Craig (producer and performer) makes this show one of the best around - he's hilarious and one of the friendliest people I have ever met. I've been to the last two shows and both were equally funny and entertaining. It doesn't matter where you sit either, the comedians are able to make every person in the room feel like part of the show. I also love that you get a raffle ticket for the chance to win cool prizes. I had met Corey Craig (Producer) on a project we had worked on together and shortly after he invited me to Cool Beans Comedy Show. He was very generous in letting me bring some family members. One of the first things I noticed is how much they are involved with the audience and truly care about their experience. For less than $300, you get 5 weeks training, performing on two stages, getting feedback from two instructors, Q and A with a pro, a 6-minute solid set, a professional photo and video, and a final performance at the Ice House. The 6 week class was incredibly helpful in developing my voice as a story teller, and a joke writer. That's all I was looking for. But Matt and Corey went above and beyond. They offer punch lines, formatting advice, and mic choreography tips. You spend 5 weeks workshopping material until it kills and then go out in front of a crowd of people ready to laugh. The video and photos are worth the cost alone. If you're thinking of trying standup, this is the best case scenario. Good luck. But if you call these guys, you won't need it. ;) read more

My Husband and I had a wonderful time. The hot wings are so delicious. We had good laughs. Everyone did a wonderful job but one comic stood out his name is London Lee... Hands down FUNNY.. He is very creative, talented and most importantly relatable. When my husband and I seen his name again on the website we immediately purchased tickets. Wow!! We love that guy. I'm a recent graduate of Corey and Andrew's class (hey where's my diploma guys?) and I can tell you that the class was one of the funnest experiences of my life! If you think you're funny and like being around funny people, this class is for you! There will be homework (jokes don't write themselves people), but if you're like me, it is enjoyable 'homework'! Ever since I got my first whoopie cushion, joy buzzer, can of "mixed nuts", disappearing ink, etc., I have been wanting to try stand-up comedy and I'm finally doing it! And Corey's class made it possible! I live in DC but wanted to take a class based in LA, and Corey's class was the only one that had flexibility in combining an in-person class with a virtual one. (I was there in person for the showcase though which is a must)! It was so great watching and laughing with all of my esteemed colleagues each week, and watching everyone's routines blossom into their final (and hilarious) performances at the showcase. In each class, Corey and Andrew provided thoughtful comments to every class member about their schtick, and I for one gobbled up every word. I absolutely love Cool Beans Comedy! I have been hooked on this free comedy show at Ice House since finding out about it and haven't missed one since. You never know who all the comedians are gonna be; sometimes they are newbies (this last time there was a high school student that Corey Craig, the producer, mentors and had brought out) and sometimes they are experienced (they were taping a special for one of the comedians another time). Regardless of who is performing, I always leave with a smile on my face. Keep in mind that even though the tickets are free, there is a 2 drink minimum so it's not 100% free but still a great deal. read more

This 5 week, nerve wracking course was the best thing to happen to me since I found out Matt Bomer was gay. This has always been a great comedy show with awesome comedians. I have been going since it started. I like the Ice House better than any other comedy clubs in Los Angeles. It's easy to get to and easy to leave. I don't have to wait one hour while the valet looks for my car. There is always parking. Always a good seat and a great atmosphere.
