    Rehearsal before the showcase!

Cool Beans was a great experience for my kids! Corey is incredibly caring, welcoming, and positive. The showcase was very professional and alot of fun for everyone. My kids will absolutely be back!

We just had our showcase last night. And wow, what a journey and experience! I started the class wanting to learn about comedy, how to write a joke, and practice the craft. Corey and Andrew's guidance teaches you the craft, while supporting your point of view of what you want to share, and help you craft your set. You get so much valuable time on stage to practice and get feedback as well. You also get to work in both rooms of The Ice House so you get a feel of different stages. It really is a positive and supporting energy throughout. They've helped me see it's possible to stand up comedy, and I'm looking forward to continuing the journey with it now, thanks to Cool Beans! If you've ever thought about trying comedy, even if you feel a bit nervous, just go for it and go through it. Getting to the other side with the support and the community makes the journey worth it.

This was one of the scariest and most rewarding things I've done. The team at cool beans are experts at helping you use your own personal story and style to create an amazing performance. Being able to take the class and practice on the stage at The Ice House is also an amazing feature. I highly recommend it to anyone who is remotely interested. They are the most competent teachers with a welcoming and intuitive style. They care deeply about everyone's experience and success. I enjoyed it so much that I took it a second time. The bonus of being able to have a professionally produced video of your set after is wonderful.

I've always wanted to do stand up comedy and Cool Beans helped me achieve that goal! Not only did I learn theory on comedy and joke writing strategies, I found my confidence and voice again. Corey, Audrey, and Andrew are amazing coaches who provide efficient feedback, guidance, and encouragement. They helped me transform my vulnerabilities into comedy. For 5 weeks we learn theory and workshop our material. On the 6th week, we showcase the set we've been working on at the legendary Ice House. It was such a thrill and out of my body experience to be up there. Because of Cool Beans, I can see myself continuing on in comedy. Thank you, Cool Beans!!!!

It had been on my heart for months to give stand up comedy a try, and I've had friends telling me for yeaaars to get up there and go for it. I was so nervous, but I told myself that 27 was the year that I was going to make some real change, so what better time to do this then now?! After performing last Sunday, I can confidently say that taking this class was one of the best decisions I've ever made. From Day 1, I felt so welcomed, encouraged, and supported by my fellow classmates and teachers. Each week, Corey, Andrew, and Nicole provided us with such clear feedback that helped my set get better and better with each rewrite. They never once were negative in their notes (for anyone, not just me!) and always made sure their feedback was delivered in such a positive, encouraging tone. Above all, they truly believe in each and every student, and it's evident by the amount of time, effort, and positivity they put into each session (and in the office hours, too!) By the end of the class, I could easily see how my public speaking, stage presence, and overall confidence had increased, and I gained such a greater understanding of comedic timing, brevity, and pacing. I also think all that I've learned will serve me well in my day-to-day work as I present to clients all the time! I'm so thankful I took a chance on myself and I am counting down the days until I can get back on that stage again. Corey & Cool Beans - My medium McDonald's Diet Coke and I thank you for everything!

They do a great job of finding out who you are as a person first, then exploring that to reveal what comedy comes most natural to you

Ethan is so easy going and did not fret when I changed my mind a few times on choosing colors to mix and match I guess that's the Libra in me lol sorry Ethan! To add to this, we needed to be buzzed in so we could enter the premise. Once we were inside, the ambiance changed completely and there were a couple of IG worthy spots to take pictures while checking in. We opted for the spinning art experience since my daughter is too young to partake in the more elaborate ones. Originally, we booked for 4 people but one person got sick so we asked if we could transfer the funds for that person for another experience since there are no refunds. Luckily, was able to contact them the day before and added the bunny paint pour over experience. Ozzie was our guide and he was super kind and gentle with my daughter. We were instructed to pick 5 colors and then we donned our plastic bootie covers, apron and gloves. We entered our designated art room and was blown away by all the colors on the wall. There was even a tire swing which my daughter was all about. The spinning art experience was a lot of fun and I enjoyed seeing my daughter embrace the paint. I think her favorite part was when she had free rein to paint all over the walls. Overall, we had a great time. Only down side is that it does go by super quick and is quite an expensive experience for one hour. However, we get to have a treasured memento which is ready for pick up about 5 days afterwards and we did have a great time. That being said, #noragrats!

It was very obvious that Chef Alex had conducted multiple corporate team building events as well as being a skilled/seasoned chef. We had 22 people for our team building event and there was plenty of space for us to each have our own cooking stations (teams of two) and there was ample seating for all of us to enjoy the fruits of our labors after the cooking was completed. We prepared thai food for our event and, WOW, was it amazing. I mean (literally), this was the best thai food that I'd ever had and this is coming from someone who's wife says "you eat way too much thai food!" The very tasty food is a testament to how well run this place is because we are just a bunch of accountants but we also apparently have an inner self that knows how to cook thai food. Overall, this place is clean, fun, there is ample parking and I would highly recommend. If this place wasn't so far from me, I'd definitely go back on a date night with my wife.

Chef Alex was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly accommodating, especially with our very last-minute booking request (less than a week's notice). Throughout the entire event, he was patient, kind, and engaging with the boys. He took the time to guide them at each cooking station, clearly explaining what to do and then letting them take over and experience it hands-on. He created a really fun, relaxed environment where the kids felt confident and involved. We all trusted the process, and the food turned out fantastic--but even more than that, the boys had a blast doing it. It was the perfect mix of learning, teamwork, and fun. I would highly recommend this experience for any team-building event, youth sports team, or even private parties like birthdays. It's interactive, memorable, and really well-run. Wait for the unbiased reviews to trickle in before committing to their latest offerings, because if Brigadoon is the current standard, the bar hasn't just been lowered--it's been buried. Wednesday's opening night was, to put it bluntly, a stinker. We arrived with open minds and tempered expectations; we weren't looking for a Gene Kelly reincarnation or a Broadway-scale miracle. We understand the constraints of regional theater. However, what we witnessed was so profoundly lackluster that it felt less like a professional production and more like a mediocre college workshop. The "Highland" Lowlights: * Atrocious Casting: With the sole exception of Betsy Morgan--who possessed the only singing and dancing chops worthy of the material--the casting was a disaster. * Cultural Caricature: The premise of Brigadoon relies on a town preserved in time to protect its Scottish heritage. Why, then, was this cast like a generic Disney Channel original movie? The "Scottish" culture on display was a cringeworthy caricature reminiscent of a Mike Myers sketch. In a city like Los Angeles, home to thousands of versatile actors, is authenticity really that hard to find? * Anemic Energy: The choreography was limp, and the vocal performances were consistently weak. The sound system was so quiet it felt like a mercy killing; perhaps turning it up would have provided the "punch" the performers so desperately lacked. I cannot remember the last time I saw a professional audience flee after only a few scenes. We endured the first half, but left at intermission. It was simply that unbearable. While the Pasadena Playhouse relies on the generosity of donors to stay afloat, one has to wonder: is there any quality control left? Or is the current mode of operation simply to shovel substandard content at a captive audience? Thank God we aren't trapped in this version of Brigadoon for a hundred years. 45 minutes was more than enough.
