towed my car Friday night after my girlfriend and kid ran out of gas after midnight. then said I can't get my vehicle until Monday. they began to get smart and say I left my car in the middle of the road. I never drove the car that day! the police also had a part in this they asked my girlfriend where the guy was that was driving...? and said why did he run off..? then said my name!! cause I own the car. she and the kid told them I wasn never in the car they did not believe her. now they want to investigate or whatever. I called today to get info on the car they were very rude.! the lady then gave a guy the phone and he said to me" if you didnt run from the car you would have it" they treating me like a criminal even tho I was never there, even though I don't have a record! how could you tow a car after business hours then say come back Monday!? money hungry company doing all the wrong things. me and my girl both own the car also both our names are on the paperwork, but they tell her they need me to even release the vehicle even though its OURS! sounds like they want to question me and take me in for my girl driving the car. My truck just decided to quit accelerating while on my way to Louisville, about 75 miles away from home. I idled off the interstate, broke down on the near Westside of Indy, stranded at a gas station. Cook's was the closest tow company. The friendly lady on the phone understood my frustration, could feel that I was pretty much helpless, and immediately got me a quote. While she couldn't guarantee a time, she said "we'll get someone out there as soon as we can." I called at 2:06pm and by 2:44pm we were hooked up on a flatbed and headed back to town. I get the feeling they dropped just about everything to help me out. Incredible responsiveness. I got the chance during the drive to chat with Donny, the driver. I genuinely appreciated the ride along as it was nice to not call an Uber and it took my mind off my troubles. Donny was very complementary on his co-workers and really seems to like his job. Hey, Cook's Towing, you've got yourself a good one with Donny. I don't know what it would be like to own a tow truck company but I'm sure it's a team effort, and I greatly appreciate the team at Cook's. read more

My granddaughter was in Indianapolis.In. visiting a friend and locked her keys in her car. She is 8 months pregnant and had her 18 month old with her and had no money.She called me her 72 year old grandmother and I called Cook's to see if they unlocked cars. She said yes the charge was 65 dollars.I said thanks, but she can't pay that and she can't get home to Roachdale,Indiana. I told her she had the baby with her and she is due anytime and the lady said what is the address,I'll send someone when they get done with their job they are on now. They went and unlocked her door so she could get on her way. I can't say enough about a company that will go out of their way to help as they did. I used their service twice on a two week period. The first time I had no issues. The second time the gal putting in my vehicle information was rude and would not listen. She ended up sending a larger than necessary tow truck thus charging me almost double what I paid the first time. When I called to give them a chance to correct the error, the manager was more rude than her employee and would only give me a partial credit because apparently they didn't charge me enough on the first tow. So apparently it's my fault their employees are poorly trained. Terrible way to run a business. Also, apparently their minimum tow fee is $85 even though I was quoted on the phone a price of $65 the first time I called them. I was given the number Cooks towing when my car broke down in Indy. Upon calling them I had a bad feeling with how rude the staff was but because thy said 20 minutes I went with them. 2 hours and 4 calls later someone finally showed. I was quoted a price of 115.. it ended at 240.. when I called to complain the owner himself told me to "go fuck myself and not call them anymore" you got it old man.. They towed my vehicle while a person was inside. My friend was sleeping in the backseat with no seat belt and they towed my vehicle despite the windows being down enough to where you could easily see inside. The manager offered me this: "no harm no foul." When telling him if there was nothing he could do to make up for this violation of human safety, I will have no choice but to let people know about this he said: "Well, mister I'm sure there's some info I could drum up on you and put in a report and show about you." It's your typical tow and go company. They probably have kickbacks for business owners or workers at the lots that they regularly tow. a better name would be "CROOK'S Towing Service." read more

I have now attempted to use them twice in a short time frame to tow my car from my house to a shop and both times I had the same rude lady answer saying it's a 3 hour wait. I either got called back 6 hours later when a truck became "available" or I just don't get called back at all. Will never call again. read more

Said they would be there in 2 hours, didn't show up until 5 hours after I called. Gave a bullshit excuse that the wrecker they sent broke down, that caused the delay. Which is the same bs they fed me the last time I used their services. I highly recommend that you avoid these people completely. They obviously don't value their customers. read more
