Being from Sacramento, where we're fortunate to have some of the best Vietnamese food in California, my expectations are pretty high when it comes to authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I arrived about five minutes before closing because of traffic, and even though they were already past their closing time, they still welcomed me in, took my order, and treated me with kindness. That level of hospitality is rare and greatly appreciated. I ordered the cơm tấm with shrimp, egg, and grilled meat, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. The meat was flavorful and tender, the shrimp was grilled perfectly, and the egg had a soft yolk that tied the whole dish together. It tasted exactly like the authentic Vietnamese food I grew up eating with my family. Every bite brought back memories of home. The cherry on top was finding out that the restaurant is family-owned and operated. When I visited, it was a father and son working together, helping customers and running the restaurant with genuine care. You can tell they take pride in both their food and their service.
