The biggest positive for Connie's is that everything is consistent. I've ordered numerous cakes from her and it's been good every time. Also the taste is far better than the swill that you would get for a cake at Giant, Redners, or Weis. The only downside to the store is that there is no parking at all. There are only a couple of metered street spaces and once those are gone you are either parking a block or two away or need to go into a parking deck. Connie's is the perfect mix of taste and value.

I went to yelp and found Kym and her excellent reviews. I wanted something special for this big occasion. The vanilla cake crumb was perfect, the peanut butter buttercream was fluffy and absolutely delicious, and the chocolate ganache mmm! My family and our waitresses loved it and had trouble finding the words to describe this cake! Thank you Kym! I will be next year for my Mom's 90th birthday cake!

It's as if I was a kid again eating an imaginary meal at a play set. But the meal is far from imaginary... With a limited menu that changes regularly, they prepare rich meals of both quality and quantity. I had a sausage and potato stuffed omelet with carmelized onions that was a very delicious monster. Quite often, home fries are either greasy, or over-cooked, or even over-seasoned, but these were perfect. It seemed as if they had just pulled the potatoes from the ground that morning. My girlfriend had the best, "meatiest" tomato soup I have ever tasted, and her gourmet grilled cheese blew my mind. (If I didn't love her so much, I would have stolen it from her!) For dessert, we had white-chocolate raspberry cookies that were yummy beyond reproach. (The cakes in the dessert display may bring people to tears.) The service was also wonderful and the coffee really hit the spot. Reservations recommended and there is parking in the rear of the establishment.

If you do visit, I highly recommend ordering their cannolis.

I provided…read morea very clear reference photo of what I wanted and unfortunately, the cake I received looked nothing like the picture I ordered from. I ordered this cake specifically to use for my daughter's birthday pictures, and unfortunately, I couldn't even use it for the photos because it looked so bad. That was incredibly disappointing, especially for such an important milestone. I completely understand that handmade cakes may have slight differences from a reference photo, but this was far beyond a minor variation. I expected the cake to at least resemble the design I paid for, and it simply didn't. My husband picked up this cake which is about 8 minutes from the house and by the time he got home 2 of the bows fell off. I would not order another cake from here and I hope they take customer reference photos more seriously in the future. If you are ordering based on a specific design, I would strongly recommend making sure they can actually replicate the quality and appearance shown before placing your order. Truthfully, I could've done a better job and I have 0 cake decorating experience.
