Went through the drive thru 11/4/2025 around 11 pm and I ordered two milkshakes and when I pulled around to pay the man seen I had my pit bull Nala and he asked if he could get her a pup cup and I said of course but could I have one more for my Great Dane at home so he wouldn't feel slighted and he said absolutely. So not only did he give my girl a vanilla soft serve cup but my boy one too and our milkshakes was amazing as usual. I had strawberry and banana and the other person had a peach cobbler which they enjoyed. I love how their pup cups are soft serve ice cream and not whipped cream like most so it was something different but still a special treat for them to enjoy too. For some reason, people become feral when you mention Cook Out. On a trip through North Carolina, I knew I had to give it a try. Best thing here: the prices! For $13, I got a double cheeseburger, two sides, a quesadilla, and a milkshake. I also loved the friendly service and the speed. The food was... fine, I guess? I think I prefer Wendy's or Hardee's to the quality of this food, even at the reduced price. The quesadilla stunk. The fries and onion rings were super bland. The milkshake was pretty good but not sweet enough and way too thick to be sucked up into a straw. I'd rather get a blizzard. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried Cook Out! read more

Today I purchased my dinner from the Cook Out on Main Street in King. I ordered the two dogs tray with hush puppies and chicken nuggets. The food was prepared correctly and delivered to the drive thru window quickly. The people working there were friendly towards me and I was happy with the service. I came to this Cook Out branch with a group, 7 kids and 4 adults. We ordered things up and I was pretty pleased by the service. I could tell up front that they were working pretty hard and having a hard time keeping up with the drinks and stuff, but they were nice and the food came out hot and the drinks came out cold. I had a Cheddar style tray with double onion rings. The rings here are good, but these were just a bit dry. I think they weren't as fresh as they could have been. The burger was great. Several others had burgers, tots, shakes, fries, tenders, nuggets, etc. I heard no complaints. Since this was my first time at a walk-in Cook Out, I took a couple of pics. We go to this restaurant frequently. Tonight I tried something different from what I normally get. I had the bacon cheddar hotdog. I also had them add mustard, chili and onions to it. It came with two sides so I got fried okra, cheese bites along with a drink. The hotdog along with the sides were very good. Everything was still warm even after bringing it home. I like trying different things so we'll definitely be back. read more

Don't waste your money. We went at lunch time on Saturday March 8th and the parking lot was empty. That should have been a sign for us. When we got our food, which in my opinion was way too quick, the burgers were precooked and luke warm, fries were cold and the onions on my burger, which on the menu states they are grilled onions, were just sliced, not grilled. The best part of the meal was the shake. People were friendly and polite, but we pay for good food. We wasted $18.00 on are really crappy meal. Won't happen again! Every time I go, they fuck up my order. All I ever get is either chili cheese fries or one of the wraps and every time I get the chili cheese fry. They forget to put the chili on it. God forbid I'll order the wrap. They don't give me the right wrap I ordered. read more

Service is generally pretty fast but they only get your order right half the time. Also the amount of sides you get is a joke, I got onion rings and chicken nuggets as sides and I literally had 3 of each. read more

I am thrilled to have a Cook Out in Kaaaaaang! We've been through the drive thru twice now and both times our orders were correct, the food was fresh, and the service was good. The lanes are a little bit tight, and the menu is soooo close up to the driver side, it's hard for the passenger (most of the time ME) to see the menu. Another thing to note, the exit from the drive thru lanes takes a little getting used to since they're both on the same side of the building, so just be careful pulling out of the outer lane to pick up your food. read more

On our way to Myrtle Beach we stopped at the Cook Out for lunch. Everything was good at first but we never got our 2 milkshakes we ordered. My husband went up and asked where they were and we thought they were going to make them. 15 minutes later we went back up and they handed us 2 melted peanut butter shakes that was made earlier apparently for someone else that was no longer there. I'm pretty certain the other people received our shakes. We had already been waiting 30 minutes according to our receipt and at that point we wanted our money back. First time to a cook out. Ordered my first and last milkshake. Was driving and it was an hour and fifteen minutes before I could use a straw on the milkshake. For real one hour and fifteen minutes. If I had wanted ice cream in a cup, I would have gone to Walmart and bought a carton of ice cream. You could say that I was less than impressed. THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD. Seemed to me just like young teenagers running the restaurant. First off, they charged my card for too much, then I got the wrong milkshakes not once BUT twice. THEN...I drive 30 minutes back home and realized they kept my debit card. I had to drive all the way back to get it and they were absolutely rude to me about it and tried to tell me they didn't have it. Finally, they found my debit card on the floor. I hear and see all of these bad reviews and frankly I feel they are unwarranted. I have bee there several time and the Carolina Style Burger Tray was just right. Heck your not going to Ruth Chris Steakhouse give them a break. They have the kink worked out now, so give em a try again. The BLT is well worth the money. You can't make one yourself for $1.19. I usually get two and they hit the spot. I only wish they had inside dining. This planned Pandemic has hurt every business in King. Even King Kitchen. I may give it a go again tonight. Ok I went to one in Charlotte years ago and was grossed out totally. Everyone I've ever spoke to about this chain said They will never eat there again. So here I see they put up one in King. My husband wanted to go. The line is ridiculously long. So we went for him. Burger. Fries. Shake. Terrible. Gross. Cheap ingredients. Bad service. Nasty food. He said never again. These people here are in for a rude awakening. Gross. All these good places to eat right next door. But I guess it's like a new Taco Bell in a remote area people go nuts like it's something special. McDonald's is preferable if you have to go for gross. McDonald's has good fries though. read more

My third try, its 3 and out. Burger was OK, bun was soaked, removed the bun, lettuce was scraps and did not look clean, tomato was so soft it was runny. ate part of the burger that had cheese. No stars they are no better than any other can't get it right restaurant. Food made wrong horrible wait times and no phone number to complain. I think they took the same people from McDonald's and Burger King that couldn't listen and read and put them in cook out. Complete waste of 45 minutes of my time. Cold food cost too much and made wrong every way they could oh and if double onion rings is 5 onion rings then I guess a single would be 2.5 right.
