I'd never heard of Cook Out before in my life, until a week or so ago and I knew I had to try one. My son and I stopped in to order dinner and brought it home to eat. I ordered a cheeseburger combo with cheese bits and onion rings. The sides looked pretty sad and were really tiny portions but tasted ok. My burger was yummy and I'm sure helped with my iron level for my recent blood donation. My son ordered a quesadilla and corn dogs but they didn't give him his Cajun fries and we didn't realize until we'd arrived home and sat down to eat. Bummer! Both of our shakes were tasty! I ordered Oreo, my son ordered peanut butter Oreo. Service was friendly but our order seemed to take a while. We stopped to grab a bite at 10:00pm. Although there was about 5 cars in front of us, they moved fairly quickly. The sound system for the drive thru is not 100% so confirm your order at the window. The food was good, not really great, but we like Cook Out and this is probably the first time we were like "meh, it's okay" but it could have been the time of day. Everyone in Columbus was SO excited that we were getting a Cook Out. I don't know what the excitement is for, and after today, I'm done giving them chances to get anything right. The first few times I went it was ok. Then by the third or fourth time, my cheeseburger was RARE. Undercooked. Gross. I couldn't eat it, and I don't believe in "dining in" at fast food places so I was either home or halfway home by the time I realized. Too late to go back. I go every once in a while to get a chocolate malt. I went a few weeks ago and the guy who helped me said they were "out of malt", so I just got a chocolate milkshake. Went again today and tried to order a chocolate malt again. And they said: "WE ARE OUT OF ICE CREAM." Yep, of all 50 or however many flavors, they managed to run out of ALL of them?!?! It's definitely interesting to eat here. So many choices and menu items. It's a little confusing to have to order so many things, but everything tasted good. It's not fancy by any means. Fast service, we ate indoors seating is kinda sparse and the parking lot and drive through layout at this location isnt great. The people taking orders look like they are miserable forced laborers. Lady handing out orders and at the drink station were both friendly and smiling. Originally came because I was told good things about the burgers and BBQ. Got the pulled pork and it was fresh and hot but very salty and had just a small splash of sauce on it. Food was decent for the price but not that impressed. I love this restaurant, but this particular location is lacking. When I first pulled up to the order speaker I wanted about 3-4 minutes before being greeted. A simple "I'll be right with you" should've been said. I thought maybe the speaker was broken, and considered pulling forward to order directly. But I was eventually greeted. Ordering was smooth. My sons burger was pretty good. The big double was 2 homemade patties. Everything was freshly made. My snickers shake was sooo thick that I had to wait for it to melt a little. Had time to kill so I rolled on by and ordered myself just reg cheeseburger with the works, fries and slaw. Better than any reg. fast food joint as far as taste. The oil was old so the fries were limp and the slaw was sweet, actually pretty good. Now the young lady that took my order struggled with my order. It was like the button on her register didn't have what I wanted. She asked me several times what I wanted and I repeated it as slowly as possible. I have often gone here three times a week on my way to work. I won't go back to this location again. I went yesterday and got my usual: big burger tray with a double order of white cheddar cheese bites. Four of the twelve cheddar bites were normal in size, though a little on the hard side. The other eight bites were very tiny and rock hard. I asked for either more bites or different, normal sized bites. The manager was demeaning and curt. He said he has no control over the size of the bites. He acted like I was ridiculous for questioning the size of the bites. I didn't even bring up the hardness or the fact that at least three of the bites were literally too hard to eat (reference: my dog, who eats everything- including my own cooking - which is a feat in itself and is one reason I frequent fast food junkets in the first place - didn't eat the cheddar bites!). read more

We purchased 2 junior meals, 3 adult meals & some a la carte items. I think our total was around $31. The burgers were excellent (tasted like one from my childhood ballpark), generous selection & portions of side items. We had food leftover, which is unusual with the "regular" fast-food places. They had a really thick shakes that needed time to melt to be able to drink. They serve your food in take-out boxes for each meal, so you'll need a little more lap room. read more

I have never had a poor drive in experience until I came here. This was my first time eating here and I tried to order but the drive thru lady was short with me and very rude. I asked if the quesadilla was a side item and she said "what's your drink?" I drove over the next day and talked to the manager and she said she would talk to her IT people. Another employee said the same thing happened to another customer. She offered me a meal, wasn't interested in eating hamburgers at 10:30 I'm the morning, but no refund of the overage or a coupon to use later. Check your cards!
