I recently brought in my 2003 Toyota Tacoma thinking I had a serious problem, but Vilius checked it out and found it was just a few simple fixes. They tightened the belts, repaired a headlight, and cleared some debris out of my AC motor -- that's it. They could have easily upsold me, but instead they were upfront and fair, just like always. The shop is clean and the waiting area even had a Keurig coffee unit for customer use. They even took the time to check the tire air pressure as part of their service. Customer service is 5 star. I went in for an oil change, which went fine. Afterwards, the mechanic informed me that he did an inspection and found that my breaks were bad and needed to be replaced. I told him I'd wait, but would take an estimate. I decided to change my own breaks to save money. So, I ordered all new parts and pulled off the tires. You can guess what I found, the break pads were barely halfway worn and the rotors were fine. Great, I wasted all that time getting the parts for nothing, and then I had to go return them. How did the mechanic blunder up such a basic inspection? I have my suspicions, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. The guy needs to be retrained on how to properly do his job. read more

The owner has explained everything he has done with my car to me in terms that I (someone who knows jack about cars) can understand. He has done this every time I've been here as well. Was looking for a local mechanic to do some routine maintenance on one of my vehicles. Took my car in for front brakes and rotors, along with an AC recharge, transmission fluid change and brake fluid flush. Final bill came out to over $900, which for what was received didn't seem terrible. Plus as a veteran it is nice when a business offers a military discount. They did a good job, so when another vehicle of mine had an issue I returned with my truck that had a check engine light on. I was able to pull the code myself and told that we would start with changing out the spark plugs since they were about due anyways. Called me with a quote, which i agreed to. After picking up my truck and arriving home, i noticed that the parts charge for my spark plugs was over $250. Since i was unfamiliar with the spark plugs needed, i looked them up to validate pricing and was disappointed to find out that i could have purchased them myself for $110. That's over$140 price difference just on the parts. When i called to ask why there was such a price discrepancy, i was told the shop couldnt compete with online prices, and they needed to make money on the parts as well. I understand they are a business that needs to make money, but expecting me to believe that just anybody could buy these cheaper than a shop, either meant that their supplier was grossly overcharging them or they were doing so to me. I also didn't appreciate being charged almost $70 for a "check engine light", when i had already provided the error code details. I will say that in terms of the work itself, i've been very pleased with this shop. And anyone considering them can rely on their work. Just not a fan as a consumer for being charged so much for identical items that are readily available at significantly cheaper prices. Unfortunately i won't be back, but anyone that doesnt mind paying a hefty premium on parts should try this place out knowing that the work will be done correctly and thoroughly. read more

Straight forward assessment of problem and solution. Work completed on day promised and at estimate quoted. Second visit due to a couple coolant leaks noticed recently. Again, inspected vehicle needs and quoted repairs properly without any attempted upsells. Work performed 2 days ago on time and this time under budget! No craziness, coupons, or bravado - - - just old-fashioned honest service! This place is LEGIT. I have a newish VW Beetle and finding people that carry 5W40 oil is tricky.. so I asked the owner if i could get an oil change if I brought me own oil. He obliged. Thank GOD he did because he is old school and gave me best oil change (there is a difference) AND went the extra mile to reset my electrical thingamajig, curing an electrical issue I had been having that I had given up on having fixed!!! He ALSO replaced my taillight bulb! My car isn't the most user-friendly for mechanics. DUDE. This man knew his stuff and my car was annoying and he went the extra mile for me!!! THANK YOU!!! Just recently moved to Carlsbad from Orange County and I was looking for an auto shop to take my Mercedes. I am so happy I found Convenient Care Care for my service A which is basically just an oil change. I called ahead to make an appointment and they were able to fit me in right away. Every other shop literally quoted me over double the price. Convenient Care Care was quick, cost effective and convenient. I also appreciate that they didn't try to upset me on services I didn't need. Since I am not super literate in car maintenance I appreciate the honesty and the customer service of this shop. The tech was very nice. He greeted me when I walked in and started on my car right away. I was in and out of there in less than 40 minutes. He took the initiative to put air in my tires too. He absolutely lied about about a "huge oil leak" all through my engine. The owner, Villius (sorry V, if I spelled it wrong) is one of the coolest and straight forward people I have met. I am in outside sales and stumbled upon CCC during work hours. Mechanics, smog shops, brake shops etc are a large portion of my client base. I can't tell you the horror that I have seen, the state of some of these waiting areas look like a place designed to make you fear touching any surface would mean an ambulance should be called to take you to the ER. One shop looked like a hoarder had inherited a bunch of junk from another hoarder. It was like Hoarder times Hoarder. CCC looks like a high end dentist office. The bay is sparkling and the biggest thing is that I feel even if one of my vehicles had serious issues, even if the amount needed to repair would be painful--at least in my heart I feel Convenient Car Care would only charge what is needed to fix the car. I strongly recommend anyone in San Diego County to start with an oil change. Just experience the vibe and meet V. If there is a major issue, get your car towed here. I would save the address in case something happens to your car or you need regular service in the near future. Oh, if you have to wait go down a few shops North, there is an awesome Cockatoo parrot that is often bored and would love to meet a new friend. read more

"Convenient" is a misnomer. Avoid. I bought a Groupon from this company specifically because they said on the ad: same day appointments available. I've now tried twice, over the course of the few weeks since I bought it, to make an appointment. Vilious, the manager, has twice now indicated same day appointments are unavailable - so are next-day appointments - you'll have to have several days' notice. When I called back to try again, he talked over me more times than I can count and offered no empathy, no suggestions, no help. I told him one of the reasons I bought the Groupon was because of the assurance in advertising that same day appointments were available, and he continued to talk over me with circular, no-help flippancy. There are too many options out there to put up with this kind of customer service. I'm also not a big fan of false advertisement. read more

Was not pushy at all, and we decided synthetic was worth the extra money due to Convenient Car Care explaining how it affects cooling the turbo system in my car. Good service to my car as usual. But I was so disappointed and uncomfortable that none of the workers were wearing masks. The person that rang me up got very close to me and I had to back away. They didn't put on a mask till the very end of my transaction (only when a co-worker asked them to). They'd driven my car without a mask which really ticked me off. I wanted to tell them I would've left a tip if they'd worn a mask. Not sure if I'll be coming back, at least during COVID especially because of my relatives with underlying conditions. read more
