Best Buy - Holyoke Mall

Best Buy has always been a regular place to shop for cellphone and laptop accessories, and this…read morestore came to my rescue on a recent trip to western Massachusetts. I had left my cellphone wall charger back in Florida, and was scheduled to be on a three-week road trip in New England. Thankfully there was a Best Buy at Holyoke Mall near my hotel in Westfield, MA, and I made that my first stop after unpacking. The layout of this store was much the same as any other Best Buy, and I instantly knew where to go look for Samsung power adaptors. The mobile accessories area was near the front door, and it took no time to locate what I needed. There was no need to interact with any of the sales help - I just found what I wanted, and walked it up to the registers. In and out in a few minutes with my new cellphone charger in hand. Thanks Best Buy!

I have many complaints about the Holyoke Best Buy, Geek Squad and the company generally. I…read morepurchased an expensive HP desktop computer that malfunctioned for most of the year I had it. I purchased the Geek Squad Total plan and had to speak to scammers in India who repeatedly told me that they fixed my computer. They didn't. Each time I called for support the Indian scammers with the oddly American names would attempt to get my credit card number claiming that I needed to pay for service despite my Geek Squad Total Membership plan. I encountered these same scammers who also answered my calls to HEWLETT Packard. Best Buy and HP have no contact numbers in the USA. - all calls go to India or another foreign country. emails to executives listed in the USA cannot be reached by phone and emails go unanswered. in fact the Holyoke Best Buy sends all calls out of the country. I also brought my computer for repair at the Holyoke store. Again not fixed- twice. I was repeatedly told that I had a software problem. Before the warranty expired I sent the computer to Northampton Computer Repair and found out that the computer had a hardware problem. HP would not replace the computer unless I sent it to California for weeks. Then maybe they would replace it. I was told by the escalation agent that computers are only replaced in the 1st 30 days if there is a hardware problem. If I had been told it was a hardware problem from the start by their authorized agent Geek Squad then I would have demanded a new computer! This is their game. DON'T SHOP AT BEST BUY. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE GEEK SQUAD AND DON'T BUY ANY HP PRODUCTS! unless you want to waste your money and spend countless hours dealing with scammers

Usually when I'm in there, I don't think I see anyone cash out there. haha, oh well. I'm sure I'm not the public they're trying to target.

I was told that "taking pictures of the merchandise was not allowed" and was asked to delete it. When I told them I had sent it my girlfriend they said don't take any more. Funny, I had around $50 of product in my hand I intended to buy, which I promptly put down on the counter nearby and left the store. Lost sale for them. (No signs near on doors or anything stating not to take pictures; my picture didn't even include people.) I'd never seen anyone cash out here either come to think of it. Some demo items were missing or had pieces of them missing, as if they had been stolen, other things out of place. Some of the furniture was kinda dirty but hey, it was wintertime, I try to cut some of these businesses some slack during the slow season. I shouldn't have stuck around as long as I did before this incident. After I left they had the audacity to call mall security! Fortunately the security folks were professional and nice, they didn't harass me too much, and I was never arrested or charged with anything. After all this bs I hope the whole company goes bankrupt and I don't want to see another brookstone again! I was only showing my girlfriend something cool. I don't see why anyone can't photograph product, if anything it would help promote product.

I'll start out by saying we just moved into a new house two months ago and have purchased virtually…read moreevery piece of furniture from PB to fill the entire house. We have spent thousands of dollars and have been happy with these purchases and quality of furniture and especially happy with the store at Evergreen walk. They have been overly accommodating and very helpful. This review is solely of the Holyoke mall store and the supervisor on duty Saturday 4/20. We ordered a custom farm table and have been trying to match Wynn ladderback chairs and are deciding between two colors. The Holyoke mall store had one of the colors in stock and we wanted to purchase it to see if it matched the best with our table. These chairs retail for around $300 per chair. We explained to the salesperson our situation and she was very nice and said she could discount it 20% since it was a floor model. We said great and explained that we would be back to order either the other three of the same color or return it and order four of the other color if this one didn't work out. The supervision came out and told us that if we purchased the floor model there was no way to return it. We explained our situation again and she said sorry can't help you. As we were walking out of the store without the chair, this supervisor had the audacity to ask us if we purchased anything online then to please do it through the Holyoke store so they would get credit. I will never purchase another thing from this store and hope someone from corporate looks into how they are treating valued PB customers.

If I could give negative star reviews, this place would have one. I was really excited to walk into…read morethis store, since most of the stuff I get is ordered online. I'm a big Restoration Hardware, Crate and Barrel and used to be Pottery Barn fan. We just moved here from Hawaii and was looking forward to furnishing our house with new furniture and new decorative pieces. As soon as we walked in, I went straight for the floor lamps, hoping the rope one I saw online was there. But it wasn't. There were many employees, but none of them seemed like they wanted to help me. I went to a register that I saw someone working at just before I walked up. He went to decorate the tree, he was a store manager, I think. His name was Glen. Either way, I waited there for about ten minutes while he was decorating a tree right behind me and he just ignored me. I went to a register that was ringing up another lady, who was an employee exchanging an item and she had two people tending to her. I waited patiently as the other lady was going to start ringing me up, but she got caught up in conversation with the off duty employee. Really?!? Never did they say sorry for the wait or anything. I was disgusted with their customer service and their SNOBBY employees. Did you forget? You're a mall employee! I will never spend a dollar there. I asked if they had the rope floor lamp here because I saw it in the magazine. But the cashier just said "if you didn't see it, we don't have it." And she left it at that. Rude! No, I'll see or anything. Don't waste your time or money here!!!

Zero stars. Scary, abusive installation process. This store has no business selling Miele or any…read moreother high end appliances. During the process of installing a $2K dishwasher, the installer complained about one thing after another - first, he couldn't get one of the hoses out; then he wasn't sure he'd be able to install the cabinet panel. He became agitated when I tried to wipe off residual styrofoam pieces from the side of the dishwasher before he installed it, and he ordered me to, "get out of [his] work area." When I explained that I was just wiping off the styrofoam pieces, he said, "I have kids to pick up, get out of my work area or I'll leave; this isn't my main job anyway." When finished, he left me with a leaking pipe and told me to call a plumber. He denied damaging the pipe and claimed it was old and ready to crack. When met with skepticism, he told me, "f*** you" and "go F*** yourself." When I contacted the owner of Salemi Appliances, a man who identified himself as "Vincent," he defended the installer by stating that he had never had any complaints about him, and therefore I must have provoked him into being abusive. Two days later, a licensed plumber came to look at the leak and said that it was clearly from the work that the dishwasher installer did, which he said was not consistent with MA plumbing code. So either the installer is incompetent or he intentionally did an incompetent job. Women should be extremely cautious about buying anything at this store or allowing them to send someone into their homes. Spend your money elsewhere. And always look at the "lowest" reviews - you can't really verify who's giving the high reviews - relatives, friends, employees, who knows.
